I'm not sure why it got a 17/20 rating; it was pretty dull really; although the bombardier has a blinder - he threw three successful bombs on the trot in the first half keeping Leroy, Percy and Jamal on the floor. I was unfortunate not to get the ball from the Ogre in the backfield; but I shouldn't have been pressuring him anyway, one of a few mistakes I made last night.

I also shouldn't have wanged the ball after picking it up; the stupid amount of intercepts done last night was rather silly, and the blitz to get free to score was fortunate for you too. You're nega-traits didnt really fluff up until the last few turns either; when they didnt matter anymore. Saying that, I think Percy on Stupided Up once or twice - and it was HIS fantastic deep kick at the end.

As I made a too many mistakes in the first half I thought it better to stick to a full drive trundle in the 2nd half, compliment by the obligatory clear out cage-stoppers and a snotling hunt by Gerty. The snotlings had obviously been hanging about with Idan's skinks because they stayed on the pitch longer than I wanted them too.

I was also impressed with G's fouling - I've never seen him so aggressively target a player on the floor before. Thankfully snotling fouls just tickled Gerty while she was having a lie down.

Maybe I'm biased but I thought the first half was fantastic. The bombs, the caught bombs, the passes, interceptions, injuries, a OTT attempt... I'd give it maybe 10/10 for the first half and 5/10 for the second. Technically speaking the relatively high number of casualties (6) probably inflated the match rating.

I was unfortunate not to get the ball from the Ogre in the backfield

Chance of that 2D against block failing with a reroll = 56.25% (which is what happened)
Chance of me getting the ball away = 46.3% without a reroll, so probably around 60% with a reroll (and even then you'd still have to pick the ball up)
It was a close run thing but I wouldn't say you were unfortunate for it not to happen. Maybe I'm getting hung up on the use of particular words here.

I shouldn't have been pressuring him anyway, one of a few mistakes I made last night.

Really? Maybe not with 2 players but I thought putting 1 player on him was a good idea. It meant I had to make the dodge away and made the pass I had to make a longer one. You didn't really need the numbers elsewhere as you were up in players.

I was also impressed with G's fouling - I've never seen him so aggressively target a player on the floor before. Thankfully snotling fouls just tickled Gerty while she was having a lie down.

I have been learning from Sensei Rav in this regard. Fouling & being thrown should be among the two biggest things snotlings do IMO, it rarely seems to work out that way for me for one reason or another.

Saying that, I think Percy on Stupided Up once or twice - and it was HIS fantastic deep kick at the end

Ah my mistake then. My congratulations to him - it was a jolly good kick.

@moose Sorry i had to run abruptly after the game last night by the way. The kids weren't settling down to bed OK, my wife had just wandered past the room twice giving me dirty looks from the door. (She had clearly heard the game had finished).

I came back on for a bit later, but had to drop again after a while.

I'm repeating myself again here, but no-one has responded....

What are we doing with the other 2 outstanding fixtures?
Are we still ending the league this weekend?
Will there be a gap before the cup?

There seemed to be a general feeling that postponing by a week might be good, and that we should find a time when we can all play at the same time, as it's all so close going in to the last match and all. This will also give time for the outstanding fixtures to be played.

A weeks postponement for the final to build excitement (and let everyone have inlaws for easter) might be good.

(But I personally am more free this sunday than the next, so in a way i would prefer this sunday)

They will get re-arranged by the players involved.

My personal preference would be yes, I'm excited for the final games.

I don't mind either way.

I have probable inlaws this Sunday. Would prefer not to have the hassle.

If we don't finish this Sunday then we shouldn't have a gap for the cup.

These questions were linked... if we can't get all the games done (I think Abom vs. RL3 is the other outstanding match?) then I don't think we should finish this weekend, so we can all finish together as so many teams could win it.

I'm free any Sunday. And would be up for a friendly this weekend (with the Nurgle or Norse) if we aren't playing league matches this weekend.

As for the cup, I say go straight into it after the league.

If I am free of the inlaws by sunday i'd consider a friendly.

Either with an existing team (I need putting off the underworld) or with the Nurgle team I'd totally like to have one day - the BlueCheesers.

I'm playing I'd tonight so it might be hard to swing past the wife. I'll ask and see and let you know.

Because Jesus I probably can't play this weekend anyway as the in-laws, etc deem it good time to come to my house and make me cook for them. Pfff.

So yeah, week off for Rav & Co to pull their fingers out and then we all finish together, then yeah, straight into the cup so the Ducks can go out in the first round as per usual.

Then next season I pick the Ducks again!!!

Sounds like we skip this Sunday then, but go straight into the cup in three weeks time?
