A friendly affair

So RL3 and I were free and played a friendly.

I wanted to train up my rookie Chaos Dwarves and RL3 had similarly valued Amazons so we had a replay of our cup final showdown.

I kicked first and the amazons caged up in the middle of the pitch. This enraged Charles Darwin so much that he charged in and frenzied about a bit. The rest of the Dwarves got in on the action too. The ball was popped loose and I got a rookie dwarf to it. He picked it up and ran off to score. Slowly. but he got there.

There were two turns left but RL3 couldn't get a breakthrough deep enough to score back before half time.

The ball was kicked to the Dwarves in the second half and a Hobgoblin scooped it up and ran it up the pitch. A cage formed around the dwarf who scored in the first half and the ball was thrown to him. Even with a reroll he dropped it. Sigh. RL tried to snatch up the loose ball but there were too many dwarves around it. Again I tried to get the ball to the rookie dwarf but he fumbled it. Finally a Hobgoblin got bored and picked up the ball and handed it to a more experienced dwarf who took it easily and strolled home.

With two turns to go the Amazons stacked their left flank. I kicked the ball to the right but they were prepared for that. The Amazon thrower, a rookie playing due to the untimely death of the main quarterback in the first half, ran up and fumbled the pass to the safe players. With a clear opportunity the Dwarves stumped forward and decked the sobbing thrower and a Bull Centaur picked up the ball easily with no rerolls left and charged it in in turn 16.

Final score 3-0 to the Rock Knockers but no skills.
