Season 4 Feedback thread

Postby Raveen » Tue Jan 27, 2015 12:36 pm

Well, that's it for Season 4. Let me know what you think we could do differently for Season 5. Did the long league format suit everyone? Was the cup fun or not?

I liked the long league format.

In the cup - being paired in the first round with the team who had beat me 5 -0 (without breaking the slightest sweat) two games ago sucked, (but wasn't a problem with the format per se).

From my pov in general I like the league format more, but I think I generally do anyway.

The everyone plays every week schedule is a bit gruelling for me though, to me it'd make sense to have two catch up weeks next time for the big season rather than one if possible, (I really struggle to play catch up games at other times, and the odd week off wouldn't bother me too much if I was up to date).

I liked it all. Preferred the league to the cup, I like the variety and the development and the long hard slog. Was a shame the games went a bit out of sync at the end so there wasn't a grand finale evening for the league.

I agree with NJ that two breaks for catch ups is a good idea given my comment above. Also maybe a catch up before the final day to get everyone's last games done at once.

From a personal point of view I am obviously pleased with how it went. Very pleased with the development of the Mighty Undercheesers and disappointed to have let them down in the final game. It took me a season to get the hang of them but Underworld are great fun to play.

Assuming we have 9 or 10 games in the league would a catch up at the midpoint and just before the end make sense?

I probably ought to check when Easter is too as people will likely be away.

League was good. So was cup. Agree about league ending in a rather random fashion, was a bit disappointing to have it drag out and I think down to lack of communication from one person?

I had as many close/exciting games in the cup as I did in the league, so for me it was a great end (I would've said the same thing even if I'd lost in the final). I'm not sure if this is because the average standard of opposition in the cup was higher, or just that I didn't have a couple of games of shocking dice rolls... I love the random qualification rules for the cup too.

In the cup - being paired in the first round with the team who had beat me 5 -0 (without breaking the slightest sweat) two games ago sucked, (but wasn't a problem with the format per se).

I would honestly be interested to see how a match between us would play out with decent dice rolls. You had such a run of bad dice in the second half of the season....

Yes for two catch-up sessions, especially if it convinces maybes like notjarvis to sign up again.

I promise not to create any rules-based drama next season either O:-)

Easter is the weekend of 5th April. I can't see any Sunday evening I am definitely away for in the next few months.

Well, I think everyone knows my feelings on season 4.

Anyway, I'm happy with two catch up weekends, and would be happy to play another cup, with the league being the first priority obviously.

Thanks again for organising everything Rav.
