Not really thinking it has to be a definite timetable, just a rough window to help give structure as you suggest.

Also, can everyone who is in please PM me asap and I will look at getting things rolling.

Would it be better/more appropriate to have someone on the leadership organize this?

(This is a serious question regarding the nature of leadership in the squad - opinions welcome)

In this case, I don't think so.

But yeah, a discussion about leadership responsibilities sounds like a good idea on the regular forum.

Right now we are 7.

If we can find another one and make it to 8, we could make a cup with 2 groups of 4 teams, followed by playoffs of all 8 teams.

I think that would be best.

And so we're 8.

1 group of 8 vs 2 groups of 4, what say you?

I've logged on to Blood Bowl to check that what I'm saying is possible.

I'd suggest 1 group of 8, and play each other once. Simple reasoning - with 7 possible opponents, it will be a lot easier to find someone to play. We can then either have the top 2 play off for the title, or the top 4 or top 8. Alternatively we can not have a knockout, but I think it will raise excitement/motivation as there will be more for the lower teams to play for. I'd suggest top 4 teams play off. Having everyone involved in the playoffs would make the normal games seem a bit pointless IMO.

We could do 2 groups of 4, but I would say that, if so then everyone should play each other twice. This is to give teams enough time to play a number of games, evolve and grow.

Once the competition is over, some months from now, we can re-use our teams in season 2!

2 minutes per turn time limit?

Clean start. Ok... Do we have a list of the nations that have been picked? I suspect I should play to type and take the Viking Norscans then.  :P

Gandy and I have admin rights to the RT league area so it makes sense for one or other of us to run this forumside.

I'm happy to do that if you like Gandaroo given that you'll have a hard enough time just making the games if Radagst is pestering you. Let me know and I'll get things rolling (thunder).

I'm not quite sure what you meant by that...

Rav, I thought we were going to set this up as a new league - with no links to the current one?

I have spare time, don't worry about that. :)

If you're happy to run it that's cool Gandy. Can I propose that we call it the Thunder (Rolling) Invitational Blood Bowl League, or TRIBBL for short?

I have made a secret and random list of all the teams I can take (so the Legendary Edition teams with Norse and Orcs removed because they've been picked and Necro and Human removed because i've played them to death). the next person to post a number between 1 and 16 (inclusive) picks my race.

My choice would be for a short cup, so 2 pools of 4 followed by play offs. That way we stand a good chance of finishing before people lose interest. If it all goes smoothly then we can go for a longer format for season 2.

My last request is for fluff. When you create a team, let us know the back story. A lot of the fun of BB has always been the fun and silly fluff that surrounds the game and we should continue in the noble tradition of the Hobgoblin Team, the worst team ever to play the game (when they actually remembered to turn up). A team so stupid that the best name they could think of was The Hobgoblin Team, which is doubly stupid when you realise that the majority of their players weren't even Hobgoblins. A record of 0 Wins, 0 Draws and 183 losses came to a stop after the unfortunate incident when one of the Giants of the Tjorvald Titans accidentally sat on the whole team and backroom staff at half time.

For more examples google Lore of Nuffle ;)

Any other comments on competition format? I do like Rav's argument of "that way we stand a good chance of finishing before people lose interest"... what do other people think... it's the attitude of those who didn't/won't play quite as much that I'm particularly interested in I suppose.
