Update - this all comes from a seperate bit of software - http://forum.bbleague.org/showthread.php?t=3298

Would we all be interested in setting up BB Manager on our PCs and submitting results to the system after each match (from memory this is pretty simple).

The advantage is access to sigs like this - Image
Also there are match summary images, ahll of fame and so on.

1) The link to install the software is broken.

2) I tried finding the league ID with no luck.

3) I have a thrower with Strong Arm, a Blitezer with guard, a catcher with block and a lineman with +1 agility.

Is it worth the effort for a 10-match league? I dunno. We get plenty of stats in game.

Anyway, I'm happy to play someone again, preferably Rav or notj as they haven't played any games yet. Or they can play each other. No rush though of course.

About promotions... I didn't get anyone promoted, I had 5 players with at least 1 SPP but MVP went to one of the other ones. Sad times. Idan seems to have done well with a double and an 11 in his promotion rolls so far.

My Wood elves vs. Spinx's dwarves

Weather = rainy. Not good for my wood elves. The dwarves on the other hand succeeded with all 5 ball pick-ups they tried during the game  :o

I kicked off to start with. Wood elves got hit everywhere. Spinx caged it up in front of my treeman. My wardancer jumped over them all (he's the one lucky guy in my team, having never failed a leap so far (3+)), hit the guy with the ball and managed to knock him over with a 1 dice block. After much ball-bouncing and another dwarf turn, we were left with this...

Yeah, an army of elves lying down blocking the path to the ball  ;D

In a couple more turns I had only a couple of elves standing, however one was the wardancer not far from their line. Despite being marked he collected a long-ish pass and ran in for the TD. 1-0.

With only 2 or 3 turns left in the first half, the dwarves weren't quite able to score. Spinx I think had a double-doge double GFI chance but failed the first dodge.

Second half kicked off with elves receiving. However the dwarves collected their own kick-off thank to a high-ball or some other such sillyness. The remaining 7 or 8 elves couldn't do much as the dwarves sauntered toward the line, but the nominated scorer tried to GFI and failed the second one plus a re-roll! A lifeline for the elves but they weren't able to take advantage - one ran to pick the ball up, failed, and the dwarves scored the next turn. 1-1.

With 3 or 4 turns left and the dwarves kicking off, the match was on a knife-edge. The elves clearly didn't care and tried a short pass to collect 1SPP. Failed. The dwarves closed in the middle of the pitch, knocked some wood-elves over but the wardancer stood. He promptly jumped over the hordes and ran into the opposition half, whereupon he collected a pass. Too many of the dwarves were trying to kick the treeman which meant there was plenty of space. A dwarf tried to blitz him, failed, and with a dodge the wardancer went over in the last turn to seal a 2-1 win for the elves.

What I suffered with from the dice was a failure to convert successful blocks into Knock-downs KOs and Injuries. (21 successful blocks, 1 KO no injuries, is a pretty low success rate, in comparison Ravs 7 successful blocks resulted in 2 KOs)

But then I Had a staggering piece of luck on my kick off for the second half.

Quick match report from my side.

Rav kicks off I try to punish the elves, but in what is to become the pattern of the game, I fail to injure/KO anyone.

I pick up the ball and try to cage it up the field, all the while trying to hit and/or get str 4 players next to Rav's Elves, so they need to make dodge rolls to do stuff.
I don't manage to make much of a physical impact, and Rav hits all of his dodge rolls.
Unfortunately I leave a weak-ish point in my cage which lets the Elves manoeuvre to a point where they get a single dice block on the ball carrier.
Annoyingly this is successful, and worse - the ball pops out entirely into reach of Rav's team
Rav picks up the ball and gets it quite distant from my players, (at this point he's quite likely to score anyway, so what happened next had little bearing on the game result)

- It's at this point my mother-in-laws dog who we are looking after decides to put her paws on the keyboard, which brings up some weird console dialog which covers half of my screen.
Annoyingly it's quite difficult to close, and I can't work out the magic key press to get rid of it. Eventually I get on google and find this page http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/991831-b ... n/67549405 which answers the question.
Anyway, back to the game

Whilst I'm wrestling with this and a strange issue where it's suddenly difficult to select players Rav trundles up over the next 2.5 turns and scores to end the first half (all the while Rav was trying to give me time to sort out my issues. Thanks Rav.)

Second Half I kick off. I deliberately kick a little short trying to suck Rav into a physical battle around the ball, and it scatters delightfully next to one of my chaos warriors (this was my biggest slice of luck all game and got me back in really).
A bit of a scuffle ensues which my team eventually win, and they emerge with the ball.
Rav stalls my drive by never engaging this time, dodging away from my players, and dropping back a little each turn, but my team manages to exploit what little gaps he leaves, and ponderously grind down field to score in the last turn (still without injuring one of the opponents).

I'm beginning to wonder whether this is the first pacifist chaos team to play the game, and whether they are allergic to actually hurting anyone.

I think I outdid this in my game vs notj.

What's the point of having an AG4 team when you keep rolling ones, I may as well have had a team of humans with no skills out there! And don't get me started on my treeman...

You did, just
15 out of 47  D6 rolls for gandy's team were 1.
You only rolled 2 6s and 5 5s

Ouch

I only rolled one 1 (out of 24 D6 rolls)

I had the luck of the D6 by far, about average with the blocking dice, not so great with Armour/injury rolls again, according to the BBManager stats

NJ, I want to play you next. Hopefully all the 1's you didn't roll in your first two games will be rolled against me.  ;D

My luck does have to fall at some point with the D6, but to be fair playing as Chaos I try not to depend on D6 rolls to a great extent. Most of them were GFI and picking up the ball (which I was quite lucky at), Against the two elves teams I've rolled only about a 1/3 as Many D6 as they have, total.

BTW I am loving the stats in BBManager.

As a halfling player I can tell you that having two treemen just doubles the frustration when one is rooted down and the other falls down and can't manage to stand back up.

Heh. Gandy had enough startlingly bad luck with his one treeman, it spent the entire first half rooted to the spot., and the majority of the second lying down :-)
