Well it seems you were online not on Tuesday, but on Wednesday, but not on Thursday  :o

There's no rush but it would be nice if your words were more accurate, or if you could post saying you can't do those days after all. It would save me making sure I'm at the PC because I don't want to mess you around.

WYld posting reminded me I never got around to doing a review of Sunday's game

http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... 85&lang=en
Wylds Champions of Corruption Versus Saur'd of Justice.[/b
Icy weather so all Go For it rolls need a 3+

First Half

Wyld Kicks off.
 • A skink picks up the ball, My Saurus's make a mess of his front line (I had above average luck here), with the first block I KO one of his blockers.
 • With a few small inconveniences, the team runs up the field with a fast moving cage to score on turn 3 or 4 (bit earlier than I would have liked, as it gives the chance of Wyld scoring, but hey ho)
 • Wild's KO'd dwarf stays KO'd
 • On kick off Wyld immediately cages the ball. It's within reach of my line so I try to knock the edge of and manage to get a couple of tackle zones under the ball carrier from one side
 • This doesn't work too well as Wyld straight away manages to hand off the ball, and in a ballsy move moves it right and short passes to his Bull centaur(!) to sprint the length of the field to within 3 squares of my line (3 3+ GFI's!)
 • Unfortunately for Wyld Lizardmen are fast enough to catch this lightning fast(!) and pacy Dwarven play. I manage to get 2 skinks On him as markers before blitzing with a Saurus
 • A scuffle by the line and around ensues, 1 of my skinks gets injured and the Lizardmen eventually emerge with the ball, moving it forward but not getting in reach of the dwarf line to score
1-0 to the Lizards at half time
Second half
 • Both start with ten
 • I kick off ball lands short on my left of the field, And I get perfect defence. Obviously I put a load of heavy hitters on that side of the field
 • The dwarfs pick up the ball, and try to move it across the field again, but fail a pass. Lizardmen swarm and hit through trying to pick up the ball and fail.
 • The dwarfs try and do a bit of hitting to get onto the ball, but unfortunately get a both down result. Worse the dwarf blocker was injured in the process so the dwarfs were down to 9
 • The Lizards manage to pick up the ball at the second attempt and cage/run the ball for a touchdown on turn 11
2-0 to the lizards
 • Lizards kick off again. (The dwarf who was KO'd in the first move of the first turn stays Ko'D)
 • The extra man counts as Lizardmen swarm into the dwarfs half and make it a scrappy battle for the ball.
 • in the last turn the Lizards blitz and injure another dwarf, perform a short pass and run in a last touchdown with the final action of the game
Lizards win 3-0

Notes
- I was a little lucky with the block rolls (not extremely lucky, but enough to keep momentum when hitting)
- I had terrible luck with GFI 1 out of 5 !
- Kinda unlucky for Wyld to lose a dwarf with the very first block who didn't awaken for the rest of the game (through 3 turnovers)
- 3-0 didn't entirely reflect the game I think. Wasn't complete domination by any means and Wyld could easily of scored in the first half which would have changed the balance and tactics somewhat. Versus any less mobile team that ballsy move with the Bull Centaur would have ended as a TD
- Still not entirely convinced I like the lizardmen too much, but they may grow on me. Lack of skills to choose is a bit worrying.

Given the icy weather, the chances of this are 4.5%... not that low in the context of the luck others have had at times this season & last!!

Sounds like the scoreline flattered you. I'm sure the dorfs will come back stronger. Bull Centaur nearly scoring sounds amusing.

Next time I force nj to start a new team he's not allowed any St 4 ;)

Running the ball with the centaur is a very valid tactic, a St 4, Ma 6, sprint, sure feet ball carrier is not something I want too deal with too often. Give him sure hands and he can pick up with a 75% success rate and he's going to be a pain to knock down once he's got it.

Of course the flip side is that you might want that St 4 out hitting people rather than in the middle of a cage where a standard ball carrier lives.

Oh and if it's the odds we're working out, Idan's 7 failed bonehead rolls were astronomically unlikely :-)

I worked that out with Idan, they were pretty low indeed. However you have to beware of picking a select set of dice and saying "huh that's really unlikely" - there are so many different combinations of dice you could use (every throw, every pass, every block, every bonehead roll, first-half two-dice blocks etc. etc.) that most games have something unlikely happening.

When looking at the odds (0.77%), the number of rolls affected and the impact it has on the team, nothing has yet come close to the 15 ones in 47 rolls my AG4 team got against notj last season. As an aside I only got 2 6's, and notj rolled one 1 in his 24 rolls. Yes I'm still scarred by that game!!

To be fair I didn't pick the Lizards. I asked my wife to pick a race. She looked at all the pictures and went for the scaly ones.

The other thing of note I forgot to mention - the same skink scored all 3 of my TDs, (randomly I didn't plan that)

Got well beaten then by Rav

3-0 at end.
Too many skills made the difference I think (I had poor dice luck too, but that just added to the misery).

6 attempts to pick up the ball - 1 single success (1 of those attempts (with a re-roll) would have led to a touchdown to equalise). (Rav made every pickup)

More pushes and Both down than anything else
Rav succeeded with a 2 Dice against block with an unskilled lineman and 2 Dodges 2 score his second (which pretty much killed the game).
Yuk.

Might write more later

My Wood Elves beat identity's Amazon 2-1.

He was actually in with a good chance at 1-0 up when he scored in turn 6. However he was a couple of men down (and was for the whole match). I managed to grab the equalizer before half time, then I received in the 2nd half and went 2-1 up pretty quickly. The rest of the game was spent with all sorts of crazy mashing up and unlikely passing being attempted, but ultimately no-one scored.

Here's a summary of things id3nt has hopefully learnt....
- The effect of the Block block on the block dice
- Try to do more 2-dice blocks - he did a lot of 1-dice ones
- Use the wizard better!
- Don't use the apothecary on someone who has been KO-ed as this is the best result. Later on one of his guys died...
- Elves are fast.
- Think before you click! (He re-rolled a defender down and realized his mistake instantly)

The dice were surprisingly benign; we had similar luck. I did break his armour more than he broke mine though, and we both rolled way too many red skulls. I feared the worst when the game kicked off with three one's in a row, but thankfully it didn't last.

Just a note on the apothecary, you can use it on a KO and the player goes straight to the reserves box without having to roll the 4+ between drives. It's usually only worth doing this with an essential star player though, the apothecary is best for making a career ending injury into a death as far as I can tell!

Also the game may implement the apothecary in an odd way that isn't in the rules because that's how Cyanide seem to do most things.

Pre match notes
Conditions : Blizzard (again!)
Inducements : I get a Bunch of Cash and spend every penny getting a Kroxigor and Some Bloodweiser Babes, I also had an extra Skink to cover for the fact I only have 10 in my squad.

1st Half
 1. Saur'd receive, but the dastardly Grims take an early blitz having a free turn
 2. The Humans Blitz and KO a skink and try to get around the side near the ball
 3. The lizards respond by knocking over a few humans and the Ogre, picking up the ball and try to move it into a sort of half assed cage
 4. The Lizards Move the Ball up the field, manouvering until they are within 2 GFIs of the line, but decide to do some hitting and push a little further.
 5. This turns out to be a mistake as they are let down whilst pushing by the Mercenary Kroxigor who tries to Block but fails miserably - turning over with the ball carrier a bit exposed
 6. Meanwhile the Humans try to pick off some more skinks and manage to injure another 1
 7. The Grins do an excellent job of smothering the ball in players and hitting the ball carrier. the ball breaks lose, but no-one has moves to pick it up
 8. The Saurus's try to raise hell on the Humans to get back by the ball, and a brave Skink manages to pick up the ball, but is still Dangerously exposed (4 Dodges and a 5+ pick up with 1 reroll!)
 9. The skink is cleverly pushed off field by Idans men, and the ball breaks to the middle of the park for him, he picks it up cleverly hands off to a player in the clear who heads off towards the TD line
 10. the Lizards give up on the ball and do some hitting
 11. unfortunately for Idan, (and incredibly lucky for me - those moves probably deserved a TD) He needed 1 GFI to score with the last move of the first Half. He rolled a 1 with No rerolls left, His player tripping over his own shoelaces at the line

Second Half
 1. Still Breathing a Sigh of relief for my lucky Escape, I Kick off. Idan Decides to gang Up on one of my Saurus's on my left so I try (and fail miserably) to kick down the right. It lands right behind Idans gang who are clearly intending to maliciously bully my Saurus
 2. The Humans do some hitting knocking aover a couple of Saurus's, pick up the ball and decide to push on into my half.
 3. Unfortunately Idan has left the ball carrier a little exposed. One of my Saurus's (Genehunt in fact) gets up from his little lie down and Wallops the Ball carrier so it's dropped.
 4. The Ball isn't picked up but a bit of a Melee forms around it over a couple of turns.
 5. Eventually I hit Idan's Ogre onto the Ball, the ball scatters between Three saurus's and Knocked down players. It Bounces 8 Times and a Saurus catches it on the 5th attempt.
 6. The Lizards go running with a Saurus Holding the Ball, But the Rudimentary Cage around the ball is Poor Because the Kroxigor Rolled Stupid and failed utterly to protect itl
 7. Idan again breaks the ball free but couldn't take advantage
 8. A Skink Grabs the Ball And Tries To Run up the Wing. Idan Can only Get a cathcer free to stand in his way
 9. The Skink (with a little support) Blitz-pushes Idan's catcher out of the way and runs for the TD. Like IDan Before - I need 1 GFI, but this time with a reroll. For Comedy effect both rolls fail too
 10. The ball comes out again More fighting happens. I manage to KO a couple of Idans players, He manages to get a blocker killed trying to dodge out of a Tackle (He'd used his apothecary saving someone else from death earlier)
 11. Idan Points out he has 8 players on the field. I still have 11 and the Numbers Tell as a Skink Breaks free once more
 12. Fittingly for this game, I need a GFI to score with the last move of the game. This final time it's a success so I win 1-0

Notes
Idan Started well and clearly edged the first half and was unlucky not to score. But a loose ball at the start of the second and the strength of the Saurus's kept the pressure up and that counted in the end.

The fact our players kept tripping over the Touchdown line was quite amusing though

After game -  I bought a Kroxigor with my Cash so I've got 11 again ostensibly (3 sklnks are badly hurt though - so i need mercs again next game). 1 Of my Saurus's picked up Block

Dice Rolls/Stats
Nothing much to note. No outstanding stat oddities in terms of Dice rolls. If anything Idan had better luck with the block rolls, and I had better luck with the D6
