Rav Logged me in and I played Spinx's  "lager and lime" halflings

In BB Manager I've logged the game in The "RT Cup" league, but i don't appear in the RT Cup Season 3 league yet.

Quick Overview

The flings have some inducements
They take a Halfling Master Chef and I can't remember what else
First Half
  • They take one of my rerolls, and gain it for themselves
  • The Limes Start with the Ball. I boot it up to them, they pick the ball up, pass it to the middle of the park, between the two treemen and attempt to cage it up.
  • .Unfortunately for the Halflings, the Beastmen , and the Minotaur combine to crack the ball carrier out of cage so the minotaur can flatten the poor halfling ball carrier. The beastmen attempt to pick the scattered ball up. This fails (and I've alreay used my reroll as I rolled double skull for my first block)
  • A treeman at this point Fractures the skull of one of my chaos warriors. which means I have 10 players for the rest of the game. But the half-lings can't get too near the ball as it's landed pretty safe on My side of the field.
  • On The second attempt, we pick the ball up, and roll it down the right hand side of the field. The beastmen manage to keep any halfling chasers distant enough and after a couple of turns run a Touchdown at the end of turn 5
  • The halflings receive again and try to cage through the middle again. With greater success, due to the Chaos guys having no rerolls left, and a startlingly bad streak of block rolls in defence (Rolled defender down 4 times in a row over 2 blocks).
  • Unfortunately for the halflings - despite being free in the beastmen's half, with no-one there to stop them - their stumpy legs cannot reach the Touchdown line before the Half ends.

1-0 to the Weird Outkasts

Second Half
  • Chaos receive and pick up the ball. They've left a gap up the side the ball is so the halflings storm through in force trying to push the issue.
  • The beast-men do a bit of skull cracking, and try to pass the ball across field to the other side. This fails but the ball falls fairly safe, well away from any Flings.
  • A bit of fighting goes on, and for the first time we directly hit one of the treemen with the Minotaur, knocking him down (to the cry of "Timber!". The beastmen pick up and start to grind up the right hand side of the field with a sheild of chaos warriors and beastmen.
  • Only the  treemen are close enough and they  try to break the party, but the Chaotic creatures are there in strength now and can knock both the treemen doen in turn, one gets injured Badly Hurt and the other gets KO'd by a foul (which gets another of my players sent of (worth it though)
  • The Beastmen Grind down to the TD line trying to put on the hurt and score with the last turn. 2-0
  • The halflings don;t get too far with their last turn (Was half expecting a halfling to be thrown across the field to be honest)

Notes On dice rolls.
Neither side succeeded excellently with the blocking dice, both getting significantly more skulls than average
If anything Chaos ended up slightly worse on the blocking dice front, but were saved by a couple of players with Block from being hurt too much by Both Down.
D6 was the Halflings bag, with 50 of his 85 rolls being 4+, and 2D6 was pretty average for both, on injury/armour rolls chaos kept up their pacifist tendencies, Ko ing a lot, but only managing 2 "proper" injuries all match

Other Notes

A fun game which could have been a lot closer if there was one more turn in the first half. The two treemen are beasts, with no loner they were raising merry havoc with my front line throughout. But halflings were too weak to support them/defende effectively once the ball got free both times.

Post Game.
2 more players got Block.
I have a Chaos warrior with 1 deducted from his AV. He has no SPP. If I can afford it, after the next game (which he can't play in) I may retire and replace Him.

Wow, Jim, it's a new season of the RT Cup already?

Yes, Bob, that was quite a night's drinking following the final of season 2.

Oooh. You're telling me, Jim. So what's happening and where are we and what happened to my trousers?

Well, Bob, we've seen the first games of season 3 go whizzing past, I don't quite know and I really don't want to know. The first week of games saw some thrilling games although I have to say the quality of teams has taken a nosedive.

Yeah, who invited the stunties anyway?

I don't know, Bob, but they're here and they're winning games and causing havoc, just like you'd want.

Sounds good, Jim, let's see if we can stay awake for the rest of the games?

Hi Blood Bowl fans, I’m Bob Bifford and I’m here with Jim Johnson to preview the upcoming games in the RT Cup!

That’s right, Bob, but as we’re partway through the second match day let’s start by recapping the matches that we missed due to sampling your Goblin Buster homebrew at the end of last season.

Good idea, Jim! The third season of the RT Cup has seen a number of new teams enter the competition, representing many of the races of the Old and New worlds.

The first match was the Mighty Undercheesers, an Underworld team owned by the same conglomerate of Skaven businessrats that sponsored the Overcheesers last year, taking on Orc rookies, The Orkly Ducklingz. These greenskins are fresh from the World’s Edge Mountains so I think we can forgive them not being able to spell Orc properly.  The Orcs were able to break through the Underworld defence in the first half and then solidly defended for the rest of the game taking away a 1-0 victory.

Looks like those Orcs will be worth watching, Bob! The second match we’re covering was the returning Amazon franchise, SuchDodge playing a new goblin team, Da Zoggin’ Gitz. Predictably the Amazons were able to hop, skip and jump through the goblin lines and score 2 touchdowns.

Not without reply though, Jim, the goblins behaved true to the cheating, green, scumbags they are by smuggling a number of weapons onto the pitch. One Amazon linewoman was caught unawares by a sneak attack by a goblin wielding a chainsaw designed for Ogre loggers in the Forest of Shadows. What was left of her was mopped up after the game and buried in a small hole.

The third game was the Cangurus verses Team Shrek in a matchup of Elves against Ogres. Skill overcame strength as the Elves took it home 2-1. It was a real spectacle with elves and snotlings flying all over the pitch. Both of these teams are new to the competition, the Cangurus can be found between games offering advice to all and sundry on topics ranging from “how to pass better to “Stalling and you, the Elf defence guide. The Ogres on the other hand can generally be found hitting each other for fun and generally being a noisy, smelly nuisance.

Finally for week 1, Bob, the Khemri entertainment troupe, the Pinewood Carrions, took on a team of Halfling mixologists, Lager and Lime. The Khemri are freshly exhumed and have travelled all the way from the Dead Lands. Unfortunately they were unable to grab hold of even the most tipsy Halfling allowing Lager and Lime to slip through twice to score a healthy 2-0 victory. The Halfling bar is now open alongside the tournament field although caution is advised for rowdy patrons who will have two treeman bouncers to deal with.

Moving on to week 2 matches we had the much anticipated return of Season 1 champions the Weird Outkasts who have spent the last year touring the world and playing the best mercenary teams they could find. They were playing Lager and Lime fresh from their victory over the shambolic Khemri. This time things didn’t go so well for the Halflings. The Chaos team were able to break through the Halfling cage and secure the ball to score in the first half. The second half saw more of the same with the Chaos team grinding down the pitch to score on the whistle signifying the end of the match. A satisfying 2-0 victory for the former champs.

And it’s good to have them back, Jim. The second game of this, second match day was Team Shrek taking Da Zoggin’ Gitz. Thrown Snotlings weren’t able to make the game a win for the Ogres and the Goblins forced the issue in their inimitable style.  Two ogres went down injured and you can bet that the goblins weren’t shy about sticking their boots in when they were down! The goblins take a well-deserved 2-0 win. Over to you, Jim, for a rundown of the next games.

In the games due to go ahead next the Cangurus will be playing the Orkly Ducklingz. This is a matchup of two of the most promising new teams in the competition, Bob, and you’ve got to think that the winner will be well placed to finish high on the table. Will the athleticism of the Elves be enough to stop the sheer power of the Orcs? Tune in to CabalVision to find out!

The other match will be SuchDodge against the Pinewood Carrions. We saw in the first week that the Khemri had trouble dealing with the dodging halflings and there’s a good chance that they’ll have the same trouble here. SuchDodge will be hoping for a less violent game than the goblins brought but the Carrions’ Tomb Guardians are looking strong and ready to pound some Amazon!

It should be a fascinating contest, Jim, I’m looking forward to both of these games as well as a few drinks in the Halfling Bar during halftime!

Unfortunately, with some games happening last week, and the complexity of arranging a schedule like this, I'm going to stick with what's there. If Ident and I have to make up a game at a later date, so be it.

Can I just turn up and find a game with someone if they are free since la is away?
Or will that ruin your schedule?

Well, it'll mean a later week when you don't get a game. The specific order of games doesn't matter, although it's better all round to keep everyone ticking along at the same speed. My vague plan is to turn up and either play if Ident can make it, or watch the Cangurus / Dyslexic Orcs ( :) ) game. Real life might well intervene though...

This information was all available at the time of arranging the schedule.

The specific order of games doesn't matter, although it's better all round to keep everyone ticking along at the same speed. My vague plan is to turn up and either play if Ident can make it, or watch the Cangurus / Dyslexic Orcs ( :) ) game.

When 2 people are off for 2 of the first 3 weeks I don't think that's really going to happen...!
