I genuinely considering whether I've time to play next season, I always have no time midweek if I fall behind in fixtures for any reason, and keeping every Sunday evening free is getting a bit trickier lately.

Will get back to you

Thanks NJ - hope you do manage to make the time!

Re: exhibition matches - I have no preferences either way. If I pick Vampires then I expect it'll take at least a season to get them in a decent state. A couple of exhibition matches would help, but not enough ;) Tried a practice game and it was very tricky. No basic skills anywhere. Just don't think I can bring myself to pick High Elves though, and not sure I want to go back to Skaven yet.

Tomb Army reporting for season 5. Be prepared for more bashing and even more misguided tactical manoeuvres.

For what it's worth, the Carrions will be returning for a final season.

I've just worked it out and there are only 3 races never to have seen the light of day in the RT BBL:

Vampires
High Elves
Demons of Khorne

Please don't let this affect your picks for Season 5, I just thought it was interesting.

Also, is anyone else going to miss some of the retiring teams? I find that I'm sad to see PirlOrc and the ladz shamble off into the sunset. No doubt I'll even miss The Everglade Wanderers at some point. I'd much prefer to keep hitting them :)

I'm going to horribly miss Bowie and the cheeses/Cheesers. Particularly Lou Reed and the goblins.

I am 99% certain I want to try Vampires. I'd quite like to try High Elves at some point too, and was considering them for this/next season if I can't be doing with the MA6 all over the team.

Need to think of a team name though.

I'm gonna miss PirlOrc too.. Hopefully he'll use this free time wisely and spend the off season training and honing his skills... He'll most likely be trying to convince Percy to pay him his share of the "shroom profits.

I'm gonna miss Bowie, but I will NOT miss that shoulderdong

Right, so tonight was Percy's big reveal... and what a magnificent reveal it was.

Image

With PirlOrc in exile, and the Black Orcs in an Anti-Fragility Clinic, Percy has taken team affairs into his own hands... sacking the team, changing the strip and even changing the name (someone did tell him it would be easier just to start a new team, but anyway).

So, Percy would like to introduce his Persistent Plan, also known as 'The 'Shrooms' to those in the know. He's rounded up his best customers mates, who for legal reasons are each representing their favourite mushrooms. (it's how Percy remembers who-wants-what you see). It's also going to be interesting for Percy's chemist apothecary to see which mushrooms boost/hinder his customer's performance on the field of glory... and it'll be funny reporting which 'shrooms the trolls will undoubtedly eat...

So, the lads are already buzzing (....) from a fantastic start to things, no dead mushrooms, and FOUR touchdowns. A level up already for Magpie Fungus, who seems to be taking to the game quite well.

Yellow Stainer did a wonderful job of spinning the right way, twatting about some stuff and not twatting a troll.

Sulphur Tuft is still unsure if being given the chainsaw is a good thing or not after knocking himself out with it and failing miserably to convince the ref he was just happy to see him... (That's NOT a chainsaw in my pocket, etc)

The rest of the lads were happy to see Ripper turn up to pay off some of his debt to Percy, and confound the enemy with a rather tasty 3 troll frontline.

In true perfectionist-manager style Percy has to look for the bad points - and he was disappointed with the lack of fouls and no dead doggies. He intends to address by doubling the foul-bonus for the ladz.

So, with a massive moral boost the ladz are looking forward to one more practice game before starting the season proper. Surely all games will be like this?

Journalist's note: it was pretty obvious Percy gave Nuffle a LOT of shrooms in offerings before the game - The Plan got all the luck and Fables got bugger all. Ident took it very well, and was probably just confounded by all the trolls and dodging and loons and chainsaws and completely flukey flying gobbos.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure what to expect - and opened totally wrong by not protecting my ball carrier. The first touchdown was totally my fault, really. But there's not a lot you can do about TWO throw team mate touchdowns. I can't remember how The Plan scored the fourth, but well played Daigaro! You completely took me by suprise and I certainly look forward to playing against that team again!

I can't either. Maybe Percy fed us 'shrooms and we hallucinated the 4th one. Wouldn't put it past the bugger.

Your game sounded entertaining. I imagine most of the goblins’ games will be.

Also, I would like to confirm I will play as Vampires for Season 5!

Team name to be confirmed though.

Once innocent ancient Greek philosophers, The Cheeseosophers are an immortal band of knowledge-seekers, travelling through time and space to compile the ultimate cheese encyclopedia. An encyclocheesia, if you will. Having spent twenty three thousand years testing, critiquing, and cataloging every cheese in existence, they have one last test: to find the final cheese; the mother of all cheeses: that cheese which, legend has it, is matured for over seven years in the jockstrap of a Blood Bowl-playing monster.

Hoping to recreate the conditions of this ultimate maturing process, The Cheeseosophers - Archimedes, Aristotle, Socrates, Pele, Marcus Aurelis and David Bowie - have used arcane magics or something to animate their own favourite cheeses, training them to play this devilish sport. Perhaps a Stilton that has matured in its own jockstrap over seven years of Blood Bowl will be the final cheese? The Ultimate Cheese? The Cheese to End All Cheeses?

Perhaps.
