Would a 5th Vamp on the bench make any sense or just be bloat? I'm thinking you could maybe have 1 offensive only vamp and 1 defensive only?

I've thought about going to 5, but it would be quite expensive given the average TV in the league, so don't know if worthwhile. (that said I think Vampires as a team gett better as TV goes up, it's just their TV is too high at all times, with at least 100k more on rerolls than most teams)

They've all got generalist skills anyway, so I wouldn't have them specialised as offensive or defensive - I don't think you'd want 150TV (once Block/Dodge) on the bench in any case.

Not tempted by a Wrodgle safety? I suppose a Thrall can do that reasonably well in a pinch.

Possibly, I've thought about it. Not sure about Wrestle on a vamp though. Would probably also want Tackle, and Strip Ball, and Jump Up is useful is he's going to go down a lot and is not very quick, and Sidestep is nice on vamps too.

If I've got only 4 or 5 vampires I think a more general one might be more useful than that.

Yeah... I thought I had a good chance of a draw then, and also the turn before you scored where your two most advanced Vampires were stuck on the side with 3 Nurgle players around them, and I stunned your ball carrier...

I think 5 Vampires at the same time would suffer too much from Blood Lust. You had enough problems with a lack of thralls as it was - another vampire would increase the demand & decrease the supply of thralls, both in terms of less on the pitch and more being eaten. I think I agree that a Vampire on the bench is too much TV.... at least in this league.

I think 6 Ogres is the only way to go with an ogre team... snotlings are just too pathetic and die so quickly, even though they have a 1/6 chance of basically turning invisible for a turn. I am enjoying being able to hit people with my Nurgle Warriors without worrying about the bonehead chance. :) Vampires are very much a cross between Ogres and a normal side in my mind.

Friday?

Sorry, I don't think I'm going to make tonight after all. I think we'll have to jam this in next week. Hopefully it won't affect cup qualification. Let me know what nights suit you La.

Oh okay, never mind Rav. I was just about to post that my wife is probably out so I have both children to get to bed so before 8.15 is unlikely for me.

At the moment anything but Tuesday and Friday is good for me next week.

Monday or Thursday?

Agree, disappointed that the league is not ending on the last scheduled day again...

This is partly my motivation for the other thread for tracking fixtures. There have been a few incidents of "oh heck I'm playing this weekend?!" this season. The other cause is the scheduling of the fixtures that left la with 3 matches to play when most people only had 1....

In other news, when is the cup starting?

I don't think that this is the problem G, it's more a combination of RL and tech issues. We've done much better this season than last.

I also don't have a problem with the current method of checking fixtures; the spreadsheet works for me.

This week in more or less the final week of the RT BBL we have the following matches:

It's A Sign vs Brave Harts - The Nurgle team are looking to top the table in the final weeks but will the Amazons be able to stand in their way?

Gojira's Army vs E.L.O. - The two high strength teams clash and clash hard. Expect lots of blocks if nothing else!

Isa Black Stars vs Azorgh Rock-Knockers - Both teams have gone off the boil since the early weeks when they dominated. Both could use a win but who knows how it'll end up?

Cheeseosophers vs 13th Doomwheel - It'd be quite an upset for the Skaven to upset the league favourites penultimate game but in a game like this, anything is possible!

You know that's nothing to do with the schedule and everything to do with La not being able to make some Sundays, right?

i.e. my holiday being most inconvenient :(

and then if I recall the Sunday after my holiday you were on holiday, so 3 matchdays in a row lost.

It's always going to be tricky when a league runs across July and August. Honestly I don't see that it's a massive issue if a game or two runs over the proposed final day. Sure it'd be nice to finish up all together but RL comes first.

As for the cup, any reason not to play on through and start on 6th September?
