I will most likely be up for a friendly on Sunday! I think I might make an ogre team, since I find the idea of half my players standing around with their thumbs in their mouths rather amusing

I would therefore like to put my ogres from last season (Team Shrek) forwards if anyone would like to dance past the blundering dunderheads.

Ogre on Ogre action! Sounds dull :P

So in week 10 out of 9 we have the last matches of the league phase of Season 6. It's been emotional and that's only going to continue when the teams take to the field.

First up Gojira's Army will be stacking up against the musical Orcs of E.L.O.

And in the second game the champion Vampires, the Cheeseosophers hope to continue their winning ways against the Azorgh Rock-Knockers

Vampires elf a 2-1 win and celebrate title in a pool of blood

Image

Pre-match
The Chaos Dwarves took a ST6 minotaur and a babe as their inducements.

Oh, and also Pre-match a rock killed the thrall Roquefort. French for Strong Rock.

First half
In the first turn, after the crowd removed 1/3 of my LOS thralls, Rav removed the other 2, and then I think my first bloodlust roll Badly Hurt off a thrall, and it wasn't looking particularly good. I made a couple of mistakes and then a bull centaur ran off with the ball and it was 1-0. Aristotle had to do a great deal of dodging to equalise in the first half, but failed the first one so didn't.

Second Half
I think I set up with 7 or 8 players, and the crowd pitch invasioned, and suddenly I had 4 players standing, but this just meant I had enough time to think what to do with each of them, and the lads covered the ball, and eventually made off with it and it was 1-1, Archimedes equalising.

The Chaos Dwarves set up but unfortunately for them the equaliser had proved a morale boost to the 2 KOd thralls, and the lads were back to 9: the bearded midgets were in trouble!

In fact they were, as the vampires got the ball a bit free before Aristotle picked it up and ran off. A bull centaur couldn't bring him down, and suddenly it was 2-1. Any chance of equalising for the Chaos Dwarves was ruined by a blitz leaving Aristotle under the ball, where he caught it. Then there was a bit of a scuffle and it was all over.

Post match
I'm not looking again now but I think the dice were mostly even. I failed my most blood lusts of the season I think, but some classic elfy nonsense pulled out the win. Rav played a good solid game, and was unfortunate to have his star player minotaur fracture his own skull on a block in the middle of the first half.

Most importantly I got to the end of a game without disconnecting! Also a skill up on two dorfs gives me more guard and more Mighty Blow.

Oh and Darwin has signed up too...

Orcs and Lizards share the spoils in a weather affected 1-1 Draw

Image

Lizards elect to receive.
Get the ref is the kick off result
The ball lands deep, the Lizards collect with a skink
Hitting happens and the orcs run through to put a tackle zone (only a goblin) on the ball and cover the nearby skinks with players (and a blitzer with tackle)
No bother as the skink dodges out, hands off to the skink in the tackle zone, who escapes and does some more dodging to get in the Orc half!
(Dodge - handoff into tackle Zone - Dodge out of Tackle zone of player with Tackle - Dodge * 5 (without using 1 reroll) and a Go for it (whhich needed sure feet. Extraordinary)

A 2 dice block on the skink fails and he again dodges out to run in to score.
1-0 to Gojira
During this time a Saurus and a Skink are taken out so the Lizards are down to 9
Weather changes to slippery, which is bad for orcs if they want to win
Orcs receive, pick up the ball and do an old fashioned drive up the pitch with the thrower holding the ball, and score back on the stroke of half time

1-1 at half time
Second half kicks off with a riot, which kicks the clock on (and eventually proves crucial)
Orcs pick up, but this time get bogged down by the saurus's.
The orcs take out all but one of the skinks, and seem to be winning the physical battle in the middle of the park but can't get free enough to make ground into the Lizards half, slippery ball means handoffs and passes to get free fail, and the half ends with no additional scores.

Notes on game
- A fun and open game, which was affected by kickoff results, and the dice.

Notes on Dice
D6 (+5 versus -10) and 2D6 (+29 versus +7) went to the saurus's, and they had the edge on the Block dice (but not hugely) as the orcs rolled 24 skulls in 99 dice, but the lizards rolled few defender down.

Vampires inflict 13 knockdowns from 10 successful blocks?! Is there nothing they can't do?

Percy has apparently died three times.

And he's now brooding over whether to come out of retirement or not.

Have THAT poncy footballers.

Crikey. I'd like to know how that works.

Edit: would some of it be from enemy skulls? I can remember at least 2 (i.e. 2 that caused a turnover).

Could it be counting Crowd invasion knock downs as knock downs for one or the other team?
