Those old feckers are not getting their stinking fangs anywhere near Percy's jock strap. And he's gonna shove some garlic down their for good measure.

I didn't know Bowie was Greek.

Or Pele for that matter.

Bowie isn't from this planet let alone any particular country on it.

The Fables! continue their run of mediocrity against brand new teams, taking on The Cheeseosophers in a pre-season five friendly match.

The Fables managed to score a convincing touchdown in turn four, but only just kept a clean sheet at the end of the second half due to a minor positioning error on behalf of La, and a number of Thralls having to take a little lie down after allowing the Greek cheese hunters to refresh their taste buds.

The second half opened with a riot which rolled the clock on one turn. Having felt out the Fables defense in the first half, The Cheeseosophers made a concerted effort to push down their left flank. The Fables made a good show of defending, but an unfortunate out break of Bloodlust meant that the vampires had to pull back. At the last second, the ball carrier suffered the blood lust as well, sending his only defending thrall off the pitch. A blitz on the ball carrier sent the ball loose, but there weren't enough Fables players near by to defend it. La managed to get the ball picked up and made a dash diagonally across the pitch for the other corner in turn 15. A tactical error by myself meant that the Cheeseosophers only had to hypnotise one player and make a GFI to score, and managed just that.

It was a close match at the end and well played by both coaches I think (apart from my last move).

La rolled 104 D6 to my 11, and just under one fifth of his rolls were 1. Despite that he passed 78% of the blood lust rolls, but they did have a tendency to fail when they were really needed.

And the Jock Strap Sniffers played thier other pre season friendly against Percy's Ladz...

And won. Although, it should've been a draw... Percy ordering his gobbos to move to protect the ball carrier from an elaborate potential blitz... and completely ignoring the blindingly obvious one right in front of his nose. Idiot.

Cracking game, very silly. The Vampires pooing on the party by getting rid of Yellow Stainer the fanatic straight off.

Then we played volleyball with Magic's bomb for a bit (THREE interceptions, in the rain... bonkers) then a Vampire got chainsawed a bit, then Marcus Aurelius the Vampire killed himself and a few goblins got broken beyond repair. Percy is shocked that at least TWO of his 'shrooms have SPPs for casualties.

Oh, and some people scored some TDs.

Bring on Season 5. That's what Percy said anyway.

Goodness. The above match was horrible. It was meant to be a pre-season match to get the lads' eye in, or something, but instead one of my vampires got killed. So they are now worse than pre-season!

Anyway - I reckon that Rav and his mature Khemri have to be early favourites for season 5.

If we knew more about the other teams I'd have more of a go at failing predictions, but we don't, so I won't.

I'm reactivating my lizardmen and I've signed up for Season 5

But will anyone have any objection if I start most of my games at 8:15 ? Gives me a bit more time to get the kids settled in bed.

Is anyone around and fancy a friendly tonight? So I can warm the Lizards up a bit (they need it cos they're cold blooded). And possibly replace a couple of players if I make enough cash?

BOOM! Good to see NJ next season!

Not so good to see bloody lizards...

later starts is fine with me dude.

Me & La are playing a grudge friendly this evening (don't worry, it's not with league teams... unless Rav says we can...) but I dunno if Ident was planning on being about too?

My Ogres should be up for it notj. Will be good to remember how they play again. Plus get some cash for that extra re-roll I've been after.

We never had any official ruling on these friendlies did we? I suppose 1 per established team is alright though.

8:15 is fine with me too.

"I say crack on" seems to be as official as it gets with Rav...

I played two friendlies with the Fables as I went out of the cup early. I wasn't planning on playing any more until S5 starts.

Would anyone object to me and La playing a 3rd pre-season match with our new teams?

I'm not really that bothered if people DO object, the main reason I'm asking is because I can't really be bothered to roll up a practice team...

Safe.

I think if anyone else is entering new teams, they would be the ones to object, but I'm not sure if there are any other new teams other than yours. I have no objection.

Thanks fellas.

To be fair, playing more matches than I need to with Percy's lads is a gamble more than anything else, but always amusing to see how the 'shrooms manage to kill themselves more than the enemy can.
