I think the most disheartening part was one turn ending with a failed 2+ dodge turnover, followed by a two-dodge-1dice block on the ball carrier rolling double skulling, followed next turn by double 1ing a dodge first action of the turn.

HOWEVER! Like I said, I was only doing those things because RL played well and turned the match into a turgid swamp of tackle zones. The git.

Basically it was a big punch-up as expected. What made the difference was having block skill everywhere, and better injury rolls (from 10 armour breaks, RL3 got 1 injury, 1 KO and 8 stunned!). The undead twice forgot to send someone for the ball at the start of the first half, which didn't help matters. Once I had the numbers on the pitch it was easy enough to score in the first half. RL3 only got 1 of his 3 KO'ed players back in the second half, so it started 10-8 to me and I kept the advantage with more thumpings.

I managed to wangle 3 level-ups (all normal rolls) so the team is levelling up quite nicely. eg I have a block/MB/PO player after only 3 games :D I also got some cash so I now have 140k - precisely enough for a Snow Troll, if I want one... I do love big guys and he's one of the weirdest out there so I doubt I can resist the temptation.

Also with some help from RL3 I figured out and fixed the main causes of uploads to BBDB taking a long time. I think it should take < 5 seconds now - let me know how it goes for you.

edit : I also rolled the D6 a total of 9 times! Is this a record?!

Fun game, not much that could be done though. On the plus side Rimmermaid (mummy) now has block.

Happy New Year all!

id3 said that he couldn't really get back to the PC for this Sunday so that the cup will probably start on 10th January.... so there's a chance for more friendlies this Sunday if people are interested?

Happy New Year! I don't think I will be available for BB this Sunday as I've already had two nights playing it this week (and RL can't accommodate toooo many), but bring on the cup on the 10th!

I'll probably be around but equally I've played 3 friendlies in this mid-season break already so am happy to sit out if there is an odd number.

I've actually forgotten how to play bb so I'll see if I can come on for a game. Not too likely though.

I think I have to make a team for next season so it would be a good idea.

Well. I haven't thought of a theme yet for my new High Elf team so I'm not sure I can play.

Abom, I'm running 15 mins late, please don't play anyone else, I'm looking forward to a game of passiveness Vs the chirpy little green fellas.

Massive punch-up won by team with superior ball handling players (who are pretty fast too).

The Pacifists beat the Punch Dummies by a score of 3-1! Notable events include: Daigoro's computer crashing the first game, a bombardier playing for the other side during the first half, and some elf dodge cheatery.

Good game, Daigoro! You've definitely made me analyze my goblins some. I think the glaring weakness which really screwed them over this game was actually my 2 rerolls over the standard 3. That, combined with (maybe?) some a bit of bad luck led to even a draw being out of reach. On the other side of the reroll spectrum, Daigoro's 4th rerolls were basically unneeded.
