"How shall we let people rank teams in competitions?"
"I Know let's automatically place teams by some cryptic algorithm into matches then give them a screen with two boxes that allows them to swap teams in one box with teams in the other box even though both boxes are the same box. But we'll make sure that the player can't see what the current arrangement is without leaving that screen and checking. It'll also be usefully unclear as to what the seeding actually is, people will just have to guess."
"Sounds good derp derp derp"

It annoys me how badly put together the game is when there's clearly a lot of love for Blood Bowl in the team at Cyanide. Last night I played a SP game against The Hobgoblin Team, who were briefly mentioned in the 2nd Edition fluff and were perfectly replicated in game (essentially they are a terrible all Hobgoblin team, I very nearly pitch cleared them). To have that much attention to detail and care and yet still make arranging a cup this counter intuitive boggles the mind.

It always feels like the Care and attention is all with the "Content" and fluff teams.

The basic coders seem pretty useless.
The User Interface is just plain appalling, from the setup screens to within the game.

Feels like all the dedicated people are those who added the teams and the fluff for the teams in afterwards (and the model adaptions etc.)

The basic core is shite.

Hang on hang on hang ON.

The seeding's changed? Christ, I'd just got into mine and La's grudge SO HARD that I'd spanked all my money/sacked players to get the best line up possible and spot on TV management!!!

Now I've gotta play a team... oh, with an even higher TV. That should be fine :)

Oh, and as a side note, somebody just walked past my monitor and saw3 this forum open and said 'Wow, you play Bloodbowl? I bought that the other day because I really want to learn how to play it, but I haven't got a fucking clue what it's all about'.

I JUST SUNK MY CLAWS INTO HIM. He sounds like the right chap for our league, he thought it was 'cool'. Will give him some tutorial games, and if he likes it enough we may have an even number of teams next season...

Goodness - what kind of eejit rates these matches? A vampire?

Anyway, I made one mistake in turn 3 and then it all went downhill with lots (more) death (and a really mistake in turn 4), and never played well enough to claw it back.

Well played Rav and a deserved semi-final place :)

Hard fought and enormously close game ends with a diving catch touchdown at the end of extra time! (fitting for the receivers cup I guess)

Match report later if I get time!

we have two more games to play and then onto the semis.

Unfortunately I barely expected to qualify let alone reach trhe semi finals so I can't play next week most likely. I'll try to arrange a midweek game against whoever BB deems the appropriate opponent is.

Wyld! When are you available for our match? Percy's Wife had the lads all shook up for nowt last night!

Just message me on here or steam when you're available; Wednesday would be best for me. Could also do tonight as long as we start no later than 8pm.

Weather was Nice
ID takes a Wizard with his inducements
For some reason BB manager says ID had 12 players on the pitch at the start of the first half! Hax!

First Half.
- Lizards receive
- first few turns are a comedy of errors as both teams attempt to get position and hit each other into the ground.
- ID manages to turn over rolling attacker down for one of his players than injuring himself, Notjarvis manages to turn over trying a (Rerolled) GFI - double 1!
- Id though manages to break through and Sack the ball holding skink.
- The lizards retrieve the ball, and manage to work it up-field a bit. But despite taking out both werewolves, ID manages to hit most of the Skinks out and the Lizard advance peters out in the
0-0 at half time - I'm seriously worried here.
Second half
- Lizards kick off short, and ID picks up the ball, and takes it to his left.
- lizards swarm right using pace to block that side of the field. (and fail pretty much to knock anyone down)
- ID Moves the ball to his right
- lizards swarm left using pace to block that side of the field. (and fail pretty much to knock anyone down)
- ID moves the ball back to centre left.
- The Lizards see their chance, and the 1 Saurus with break tackle skips out of his tackle zone and sacks the ball carrier.
- The lizards blocking starts working for a turn, as they crack holes in the defence, and run through, to get the ball, and after a turn or two more score to go 1-0 up!
1-0 to Lizards halfway through the second half!
- Necro's receive again. Saurus's setup to defend again, but this time I foolishly leave a gap for the Necro's to run through.
- Despite a desperate 2D block on the ball carrier, and rushing back players, he manages to escape the tackle zones and run in to equalise the scores.
1-1 with just two turns left of Normal time!
- The Lizards try to setup a 2 turn score (like they did a number of times in the league) But ID manages to put players well in the way. Still there's a chance if we can handoff to a skink and run through two tackle zones in the last turn which.....fails at the handoff stage.
Extra Time! The ball is on the floor in the Necro half - but it's close to some lizards!
- The Necros Get the ball, and run back deep in their own half with it!
- They've not accounted for Skink Power! though, as 3 Skinks dodge free to blitz the ball carrier down! and one picks up the ball!
- In a similar way to the way in which the Lizards failed to defend against the Necro's earlier in the have - they try to blitz the ball carrier, and can only push him.
- He only needs to dodge out of tackle zones with Dodge? can he do a 3+ roll with two tries? No, he gets tripped.
- The Necros pick up the ball, and try and pass it down-field but there's another twist as the Werewolf fails the pass scattering it on the spot!
- NJ thinks it's the last turn - so desperate measures required! A skink runs along the end zone. Another skink picks it up and tries a short pass to him! He makes an inaccurate pass! It scatters next to the receiving player BUT there's one final twist as it turns out the skink on the line (by pure luck - I hadn't planned it this way) is the one with catch and Diving catch skills! letting him catch the scattered Ball!
2-1 To the Lizards at the death!
- Theres an anticlimactic turn each in which not much happens.

Overview
An enormously fun and exciting game which could have gone either way. We both made mistakes at various points, but both could have one with a bit of luck in other places

Dice Rolls
According to BBManager we Both had slightly worse than average on the D6, with mine being slightly better than ID. I had fairly poor block dice, with a fair amount of skulls (35 out of around 145 odd dice IIRC). And I had worse 2D6 (I didn't roll 1 11 or 12 out of all the dice rolled.
Felt fairly even I think in the end - we both had some turns which were shockers and some good ones.
