Season 8 Predictions Thread

Lots of 4's but no perfect 5's last week leaves Percy in the lead by 3. No shock results but the Elf-Ogre game finishing 3-2 was probably a shock scoreline. The table's sorting itself out now, I suspect the current bottom 3 plus me will make up the bottom 4 (as per my pre-season predictions). I'm excited about the prospect of qualifying for the cup though, the novelty of it!! Next up we have....

Team Shrek vs A Fistful of Boomstick - probably 4th on my list of "games I might win" so... win for ogres. So long as I don't fail over a third of boneheads in one half again.

Team Shrek vs A Fistful of Boomstick: Oooff, the Mummies will get battered and Moose will be lost without them; I mean, how else is he going to dodge into a cage without them? 2-1 to the Ogres.

Bad For Thy Elf? vs One Hit Wonderz: This'll be a cracking match; game of the week fo' sho'. NJ's got his good players back and Idan's got Lizrds that are leveling up ... Er, 2-2 draw.

The MasturBaters vs The Nermal Distribution - 16-0 to the self lovers? No, La loves Red Lion too; so he'll let a shame goblin in to score one or two with a tear in his eye. 5-1 to the MasturBaters.

Punch Dummies vs MarS Spiders: I've got to call it for the Bowies, especially as the Thin White Duke is now Ag 5 and I have a bit of a bench. It won't be the same without Eldril though. 3-1 to the Spiders

Fables! vs Orkly Ducklingz: 2-1 to the Orcs in a standard grind. PirlOrc gets a stone in his boot and needs to take 2 weeks off to recover.

Team Shrek vs A Fistful of Boomstick: 2-0 to the Undeadites. Gandalf will suffer from degenerative 1 disease (Nuffle's Lurgy) where he cannot make any roll that requires a 2+.

Bad For Thy Elf? vs One Hit Wonderz: It's hard to argue against the sheer strength and speed of the Lizards. 2-0 to the Wonderz.

The Mastercheesers vs The Nermal Distribution: League favourites vs Underworld? It's got to be a win for the Mastercheesers but the question is, how big and will the Distribution get any back? I'm going to say 3-1.

Fables! vs Awful Pongings: I think the Ugly Donglings will probably win 2-1 but then the Eejit Duckwingz might well get overly distracted halfway through by thinking of bad plays on words for other teams leading perhaps to a 1-2 defeat of the Baldy Touchings. But then again it’s unlikely that the bad plays on words actually take any brain power at all, judging by the feeble results generated thus far, so thinking of them even during the whole game probably doesn’t risk distracting the coach. Draw: Fables! 1-1 Boring Tonguings.

Feebles really will be quite Feeble without Fairy Liquid (Who Gerty killed if anyone missed the news) and Them lizards am getting good innit. 2-1 Lizards.

Punch Dummies vs Orkly Ducklingz - I'd love to see the dummies snatch one away from the Orcs but I'm afraid I don't see it happening. 2-0 to the Ducks


MarS Spiders vs A Fistful of Boomstick - I'm confident with this match although I have 3 players out and I've only managed to beat stunties so far. I've got a bit of tackle, Ag 5 on my quarterback and leap on a catcher for cage breaking shenanigans so hopefully I can stopp the undead horde in it's paces. 2-1 to the Spiders.

Team Shrek vs The Nermal Distribution - The two most academically gifted coaches in the league (unless I'm missing any Cambridge graduates as we all know that Cambridge > Oxford as Oxfordians can't punt properly) coaching stunties (or semi-stunties) is silly. Blood Bowl is all about the silly though so that's fine. I guess the Ogres will play for a 2-1 grind and the Underworld will go for a big score and turnover plan. 3-1 to the Nermals.

Bad For Thy Elf? vs The Mastercheesers - Tricky one. If anyone's going to put a stop to La's reign of terror it's NJ but it's a big if. 1-1 draw.

Fables! vs One Hit Wonderz - Claw vs St4. Both teams have a mix of very fast and very slow. I think positioning will be the telling factor in this match and I think the lizards will be better equipped to force the game into a shape that suits them. 2-1 to the Wonderz (although if Claw works well and works early that could go very differently).
