Haha, great report. A fun game - especially the first half - and not a bad result for either side.

Well it felt like a finely balanced game for the first three quarters of it, but the Bowies' ball-handling let them down (severely) to hand them a severe (nuffle-)spanking.

The Mastercheesers 5 - 1 Mars Spiders
http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/matchdetail.php?match_id=116

The Bowies had a wizard and Eldril to make up the numbers - as well as a very fine babe who worked hard throughout the match, getting the Elves up on nearly every kick off.

It started out a bit wobbly for the Mastercheesers - a wizard made a small mess in my semi-cage and suddenly the ball was flying through the air towards an elf and then towards my end zone where Rav double oned a GFI. Then the ball was flying through the air towards a rat and shortly after I single oned a GFI and took the lead.

Then I got the defensive TD that nuffle robbed off Raveen (through a dropped midfield pass), and it was 2-0 at half time. The Bowies quickly got one back, and then the Mastercheesers reasonably quickly restored the 2 TD lead. And then the thrower got covered in rats and couldn't dodge clear, making it 4-1, and then he dropped the ball a bit, making it 5-1. It was far closer than that suggests though, up until I passed the rerolled GFI to make it 3-1.

Really felt like the dice were testing you Raveen - I'm glad the apothecary saved Thin White Duke from death at the end.

3-0 to the One Hit Wonders

Moose Received, managed to KO a Saurus on his first block and continued to cage up. but Big Mountain, the braking tackle Krox, dodged away from the Mummies and started making his way through the cage... A few turns later the Lizards were lucky enough to get the ball free, picked it up with one of the skinks and scored on turn 5, I think. 1-0.
The Undead received again and made a run down the flank to about 3/4 down the pitch, but again, Big Mountain the Krox managed to get in the way of the running Wight and the touchdown line.

2nd half the lizards received and caged up on the sideline. The slow Undead were closing down on the cage, so the ball carrying skinks went back a few paces, found a skink in the middle of the pitch, handed him the ball, and the new ball carrying skinks ran to the other side of the pitch, where the undead were barely able to catch up. A couple of turns later (11?) the skink dodged once and scored a TD. 2-0.

The Undead received again and ran a lonely Ghoul down the pitch. A brave Saurus managed to GFI block him, and got the ball loose. In what would be the highlight of the game, with some heavy rain, a skink managed to pick the ball up (used a reroll), do 1 GFI, passed the ball (5+) to another skink, who caught it, ran down the field, did 1 GFI and scored on turn 15. 3-0.

Moose didn't have much luck with regeneration, getting a Ghoul killed, a zombie with smashed hip and a skeleton with a fractured skull... He did manage to regenerate a dead skeleton. From my side, 2 Sauraii leveled up on the last blocks of the last turn of the game, a skink leveled up by scoring and my Krox got a 2nd MVP in a row and he is now level 3.

Dark Elves Beat ID's Necros quite jammily and win 2-1 with a last turn score.
Elves take a Wizard with inducement money.

First 5 turns go atrociously as Elves receive but the defence gets blitz, the Elves roll a ton of skulls and make no progress at all.
ID very cleverly blocks off avenues for advancement and moves in to get the ball and run off to score on turn 6, meanwhile injuring the ST4 blitzer
The Dark el;ves waste their fireball too.
Everything seems to be going wrong
Elves plan a two turn touchdown response, running 3 Elves into the Necro half, but ID surrounds all 3 players.
Dark Elves luck suddenly turns though as as One DE knocks over one of the defenders (who had block too!) with a 2D against block, before another receives a pass in two tackle zones and dodges out to score on the last turn of the 1st half.

1-1 at half time.

ID receives in second half and cages up.
DEs decide they have little chance of blocking avenues with 9 players , and congregate in the middle leaving the sides Open, hoping we can frenzy, or block our way through if ID tries the sides.
ID goes for it, and Elves flood around his cage. Their block dice have improved, as they shove one Doggie off the fields, and eventually manage to tackle the ST4 ball carrier and get the ball free. A quick pass and move and they run down the field, just about getting over the line on the last turn

2-1 To the Dark Elves, however in the melee, 2 Dark Elf players are injured for the next game, and one lineman was killed.

Very good game ID, I was totally outplayed in the first half (My dice were poor, but I didn't play well either) and I was exceedingly lucky to get out of it 1-1
The second half the Dice turned my way, letting me have a go at the cage but it could easily have gone either way from there.

You totally outplayed me in the second half. I saw that it was a trap, but went for it anyway. Then without the Werewolves, I wasn't able to keep as much pitch control as I needed to cover all your elves. The last couple of turns were close though! Always a pleasure playing you notjarvis, well played!

My one comment on the Gobbo Ogre game is that at one point I was close to scoring but I decided to blitz a snotling greedily with the ball-carrier. Not only did I not knock him down, there was a diving tackle snotfriend next to him that foiled my plans completely. Definitely the defining regret of the game on my end... 1-0 for the Ogres! :D :*(

Good grief. The game was as mental, hilarious and bonkers as I expected/hoped. The fans don't know what they are talking about, a match rating of 8/20?! Apologies for any inaccuracies, an awful lot happened, Abom please correct any mistakes you notice! I wrote this before I saw your post, as you will see I do cover that incident. I thought you were trying to make extra-sure as that snotling *may* have been able to blitz you next turn. But yes in the cold analysis that was a silly move, as was my throw the turn before. But hey sillyness was the order of the day.

http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/matchdetai ... tch_id=115

Pre-match. Goblins take wizard/bribe/Ripper the troll/babe. Ogres are down an ogre, but if I had to pick an ogre to be without, it would be him, so I'm feeling alright about things. Nice weather; goblins win toss and opt to receive.

First half. Goblins start with Ripper rolling a double red skull and failing the loner. Ogres hit some stuff but can't get anyone over and fail a bonehead, Goblins breathe a sigh of relief. Now what happened over the next few turns I'm not too sure exactly. The chainsaw guy failed a couple of times but twice survived his chainsaw attacking him (ie rolled 4 or less on 2D6), but eventually I blitzed him over. The pogoer got the ball but one hit and he was injured. So it wasn't looking good with his two special players off the pitch. The goblins got the ball and tried some crazy stuff, but nothing quite worked out. I got the ball turn 3 or 4 and tried to move towards the line, but goblins were diving in the way & being thrown at me. I think it was in the first half a troll had two ogres standing right in front of him, and threw a goblin just over their heads whereupon he injured himself on landing as the ogres looked on amused. Anyhow, some good/desperate defence and lightening-bolted Shrek The Fourth and the ball was in a melee. Shrek the Fourth made his way into the TD zone waiting for a pass. Goblins tried to retrieve the ball on turn 8 but instead knocked the ball into the "hands" of a snotling! A 4+ pass and 2+ catch for the score on the last action of the half.... fails! 0-0 half time.

Second half kicks off, 11 a side, the goblins bring on their bombardier. First up let me say I had the most absurd luck with boneheads this half. I succeeded with 27 boneheads out of 27! 0.7% odds of that happening. With the ogres' achillies heel nullified I got a lot of stuff done and it really didn't give the goblins much of a chance. But! They sure did try!!

Goblins kick-off and it lands in their own half. I put pressure on the bombardier early and he only got one bomb away before being splattered, which landed next to him and got a snotling off the pitch. Ball given to the Ogre Thrower. He moves forward a bit, still playing it safe, well out of range of the goblins. But IS he?! One of the trolls picks up a goblin, throws him, he flies majestically through the air.... and lands next to the ball carrier!! With Strip Ball, he courageously hits the ogre with a 3D against block and gets a push! the ball goes loose!! I've never seen such a successful thrown player in my life. The ogres looked like they recovered things though, the thrower retrieved the ball, shrek the fourth was in space to receive... but the throw was simply terrible and landed in a goblin-infested area of the pitch. They pick it up and find a path through Team Shrek, try to hand off to the goblin in space.... it works! Nothing between him and the touchdown zone, will he go for it? No... he blitzes he nearest snotling instead, but doesn't get him over and side-steps into the path of the goblin instead. The goblin tries to dodge past him... but wait! This snotling is a veteran and dives at the goblin, tackling him and ending the turn.

The ogres run people back, the snotlings do some brave blocks, Queen Lilian even ko'ing a player. I can't get hands on the ball but it's pretty safe. Coach Abom strikes back by rolling 1, 1, 1 and 1 and that was his turn over. Very kind of him to roll the 1's that I wasn't rolling. After clearing the area, Shrek Forever Afer lumbered in and delicately picked up the ball with poise rarely seen in ogres. With about 18 squares to go and 5 turns left he started walking downfield with a snotling in front (for passing if needed) and the rest of the team protected him. The goblins flung themselves at him. Crystal Maiden did get him down with another 3D against block (after a reroll) but stunned herself in the process. Shrek-4 picked himself up, scooped the ball up and carried on. Another goblin got thrown but the troll got hungry and seemed like he was about to be eaten but then Cyanide attacked and some weird rolls happened instead. The goblins got smacked around a bit and it looked like the Ogres could only be stopped by themselves. Ripper tried to throw a goblin but instead killed him (!!!) and then tried to dodge clear to chase the ball carrier, however he forgot he only had agility 1. He jogged on the spot for about 45 seconds whilst Abom decided whether to use his last reroll or not... in the end it was used but the dodge was still failed. Turn 16 came round, all Shrek The Fourth had to do was not roll a double one.... no worries, he succeeded and it was 1-0 to the Ogres!!

Goblins had a chance for a 1TTD to draw the game, but the pass was fumbled. The game ended with a double red-skull trying to hurt an ogre.

Post game I rerolled a 1 into a 1 for winnings (same as Idanmel did, he's my hero) but I got MVP on an ogre so very happy with the post-game really. Not sure what Goblins got, apart from a dead linegoblin and pogoer. Abom did kill my son though!!!! Such disrespect. Though you could equally ask why I didn't use the apothecary on my firstborn...

Thanks for the game Abom, it was fantastic fun and I hope you think so too, I am sorry the luck was so screwy for you, it would've been a fantastic result for you to get a draw from that after all the 1s you were rolling and the 1s I wasn't rolling. I hope you get some points later in the season. It's always nice as a stunty team to get off the mark. Season aim accomplished, everything else is a bonus. Bring it on!!

Twas indeed a fun game as always. :D Gobbos lost their up and coming pogoer and got no levelups, but at least there's some money in the bank now.

It was a bit of a mare, sorry for getting grumpy at the end there :)

I think I need to go back to the Khemri drawing board and assume that things will go wrong more than should be expected rather than less :) Shame that the Duke is going to be resting up for the next match given he rolled and Agility boost but in a fortnight's time he'll be lobbing the ball about with reckless abandon. No bugger'll catch mind you but at least the thought's there!
