Arg! The Elves! Prepare to score, Idanmel, prepare to multiscore. I'm probably the only team to not score yet, too. It's not going terribly well.
Also, Arg! Three deaths! Three!! Crikey.

Crikey indeed.
The wife is out this evening Idanmel, so shall we have a match? 8pm Kick Off? (BST) Orca-Cola are sponsoring the game, so need to get more games on CableVision. Sadly I dont think the sponsorship money filters through to us, but it does build the Fever for a full weekend schedule of matches!
Orcs V Elves!
PirlOrc has been distributing copies of his autobiography "I (struggle to) Think Therefore I Play (Blood Bowl)" to the rest of the team in order to educate them on the finer points of the game - Firstly, NOT spending the majority of each game lying on the floor chewing those 'mushroom sweets' Denzel (RIP) robbed from the Mighty Undercheesers' Team Cart.
PirlOrc even thinks he can pick up the ball first time too. I WILL BE AMAZED IF THIS HAPPENS.

Wonderful. See you this evening then

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Matchday 5 - 24th August
Oooh, Orcs vs Elves, a classic matchup. Strength vs Skill, Power vs Precision, big hairy green fella's vs dainty pink pretty boys! Good luck to both teams and may the Nuffle gift both of you with his sacred number - 11.
Personally I'm having long talks with my team about tactics, training and how to pick the bloody ball up. The team are a bit nervous about the Ogres, they'd much rather not pick on someone their own size thank you very much!

I'm in the process of herding some goats as we speak notjarvis, double measure this week, not taking any chances. Let's hope Nuffle's listening.
And Raveen, if you manage to figure out the art of Picking Up The Ball, I'll pay handsomely for your insights.

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Matchday 5 - 24th August
And the Friday night match was a roaring success....
For the Elves, they took the spoils with a 2-1, but it was a fantastic spectacle for the masses.
Great game with classic play from both teams - the first half trudged along with Leroy leading a 9-orc cage straight down the middle of the pitch; the elves almost got the ball free but Mavis managed to grab the loose ball, and got excited running over the line a turn early. Maybe the bright lights of Friday Night Football got the better of her/him and she/he was eager to see her/his name in lights...
The Orcs went to defend deep for the rest of the half - they only had to keep the elves out for two turns....
Elf turn 7 was spent getting players into position, then the orcs doubled-up the marking, but the slippery buggers still got through to end the half 1-1.
2nd half started with a completely different outlook with players spread everywhere, and typical elf dodging and chucking. Then we had some nice mini battles; the orcs managed to get the ball back, only to have a fantastic, double-dodging 1-die-blitz catcher free the ball up again. It was raining, and the curse of Orc ball handling kicked in; the ball got free, the Elves did some more classic prancing about, freed the ball up and made it 2-1.
The orcs were ready to show the sissy's elves how orcs can score in two turns... but PirlOrc's arrogance got the better of him, forgetting to wash his beard gel off his hands and he promptly failed to pick the bloody pigskin up. When he did finally get the ball (on the 4th attempt) he dropped it again trying to save face with a simple short pass. He bottled it on the main stage. Silly, silly PirlOrc.
Really good fun game, dice were kind to both of us where we wanted them; I got got block die, the elves got good dodging dice. Thanks for the game Idan!
Bring on the Gobbos!

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Matchday 5 - 24th August
Thanks for the game and write-up, Daigaro!
The Canguru elves played a second game in a row this evening, and probably were a bit fatigued and couldn't dodge as much as they liked.
Game started with The elves receiving, and trying the famous two turn touchdown tactic. On the 2nd turn, my catcher caught the ball, failed a dodge, and didn't have time to call for a re-roll. The mighty undercheesers picked the ball up quicly and played an aggressive game which got two elves badly hurt, 2 knocked out, and two shoved off the pitch without injuries. The brave elves managed to keep the scores at 0-0, even though the undercheesers were 3 players up by the end of the half.
The 2nd half started with 10 cangurus (one sub, 2 who got pushed out, and two ko'd back) against 11 undercheesres that brought on their star player... a bombardier!
The Cangurus kicked the ball to but found themselves regretting it as the Undercheesers kept playing their aggressive game. After some crazy 2 go-for-it's and one dice block (or something of the sort) the Cangurus managed to get the ball back and score a touchdown at turn 14. 1-0.
The Cangurus kicking the ball again, this time with 8 players against 10, with the bombardier still on the pitch after bribing the referee... The Cangurus tried to prevent the Undercheesers to use their own tactics against them and score in two turns. The Undercheesrers went down the side of the pitch, and the Cangurus tried to block their advancement. 2 go for it's were needed for a solid defense, but the 1st gfi failed, and a re-roll secured it just to have the 2nd gfi fail! The Undercheesers had an easy route to the Cangurus touchdown and scored for the 1st time in the tournament! 1-1. With 1 more turn to go for the Cangurus, surely this game was over!
But wait... The referee, who thought this game could use some spicing up, turned the clock backwards one turn, leaving the Cangurus to try to score a 2 turn touchdown, which they so spectacularly failed in the 1st half. The Cangurus sent a few players up the Undercheesers pitch and with no rerolls left, decided they will try to do some blocking before picking up the ball (brilliant coaching, eh?) and rolled a double both down against a goblin, which sent the elf lineman knocked off the pitch. The Undercheesers scrambled to try and block off the attack, but their time ran up 0.0001 seconds before blocking off all chances of an elf touchdown.
Last turn, the sure hands thrower manages to pick up the ball, throws it to a nerves of steel dodger catcher, who catches the ball, dodges out of one tackle zone and makes 2 go for it's to secure a winning touchdown!!! 2-1.
Thanks Daigaro and La, I got really really lucky on both games, and they both could have easily gone both ways.
Rav, as you are not going to play against Gandalf on Sunday, and I already played my game against La, how about we play each other this Sunday?

Congrats on the double win Idan. A couple of really crazy games there. Looks like a 3 horse race now between your elves, notj's Chaos and the outsiders id3nt1ty's Amazon. All unbeaten, but id3nt has played 2 less.
And congrats to the Undercheesers on their first touchdown!!

Re: RT Cup Season 3 - Matchday 5 - 24th August
The lads were sooo close to getting a second point, but I think the loyal fans were so excited at seeing an actual home touchdown that they invaded the pitch in a frenzy of cheese and more, strangely glowing cheese, and the ref added just that much extra time that the fiendish elves went and ruined it all.
It was a very good match, well played Idan
Rumours that linerat Paul Simon got so angry he ate an entire round of warpstilton, all but doubling his original size, are unconfirmed, but it does look like Blitzer Bob Dylan will be missing the next game after smashing a locker in the changing rooms as well as his hand in a fit of rage.

OK, I was amazed that nobody was away for the bank holiday!
I'll swap the schedule with week 8 so everyone is playing except Gandalf. Can someone get a message to Spinx that he's playing after all for me please?
Full list of games will follow shortly.
