I could see an Assassin being of value against the Wood Elves and Amazons (and Halflings but I doubt you'll get the inducement money ) this year. It's a 41.7% chance of injuring an Av 7 blodger vs a 30.6% chance of knocking them down assuming you don't have tackle and get a 2D block.

Remembering what it was like during his first season:

If we ever move firmly into 10+ player territory, perhaps we should have a season where we play each other twice, or a cup where's it's best 2 out of 3, to make results less swingy and more decisive.

Oh well a cup should be swingy but over an 8 game season I think it's less of a problem. A 10 player play each other twice season would be awesome, but would go on for about 6 months!

More feasible might be 2 divisions of 5-6 teams playing each other twice, with the top two in each having playoffs to decide the overall victor.

We tried a few formats out early on, ultimately people preferred the current format. Cups should be random to a degree, and would go on forever if they had to play each other 2-3 times. And I prefer 3-4 month leagues to a 6 month one, it's a big commitment and people may get bored/frustrated with their team, and want to get on to another team.

If we have 2 divisions might it get a bit samey playing the same teams over and over again? We did do this back in the day (2 groups of 4) but we moved on to the current format for reasons I can't remember. I like the variety, and it helps with the fluff if we have all experienced each other's teams. If we ever did have 16-20 teams taking part though we would have to split up somehow.

As a third option we could go for an NFL-type system. Say with 12 teams, you'd have 3 groups of 4. You'd play the people in your group twice, and a number of games (2-4?) with teams from the other group. Then the top team from each group - plus the next best overall record - would go through to the semis/final, seeding decided on overall record. This would allow some familiarity/rivalry with your group members whilst still having the variety of playing a wide range of other races.

Also - CRIKEY! Raveen's former colleague would make 10, which is the biggest number for a while. That'll be nice. Rav can also have the traditional introductory game against his introductee, which will be nice for both of them, what with Halflings and all.
