1 Game in.

I thought before the season started Cangurus were the favourites for this season, and nothing I've read about the Opening weekend says they will not be.\

Gandalfs Wood Elfs are definitely up there too (just how do you stop them scoring?)

I thought also this season Rav might grind his way to the top (ST5 Block included), but an early loss has dented that plan.


I'm hoping for mid-table, and not too many injuries/deaths (if I'm lucky)

Who else do people think are likely to top the table?


Any other predictions?

I think what I'm learning about Khemri is that when it goes wrong it goes properly wrong. So I need to plan to fail even more and not risk a 1D block against my ballcarrier in any circumstances.

I wouldn't discount Dai's Orcs - a season of development means that they are now really solid. Block on most of the BOBs, the thrower developing nicely and blitzers looking good too.

The two elf teams are obviously in contention, I'd go with Idan over Gandalf because his luck seems to hold better

Of course, Temmop may be sharking us and actually be a Blood Bowl genius, time will tell.

OK here's my predicted end-of-season table. Please don't take it personally if I have ranked you quite low!

1/2/3. Elves/Elves/Orcs
Good teams anyway, and experienced to boot. Too early to tell who will prevail. The elves will irritate everyone, it depends how well the declared "how many elves can you kill" competition goes! The orcs are pleased to find no ogres in the competition this year.

4.Stagocalypse
Notj's new team, they are decent off the bat, won last week & notj has a good reputation as a coach.

5/6. Dwarves/Pinewood Carrions
Rav's team are in their second season now, and had pretty poor luck in the first game, I expect them to bounce back.
I find it hard to place the dwarves since they play in such a crazy fashion. It can go all to plan or all horribly wrong.

7/8. Necro/Nurgle
These new teams are here almost by default. I've seen very little of either team to know how they will compete. From playing them last week, Nurgle will give bashy teams a hard time but lack ball-handling skills and speed.

9/10. Undead/Overcheesers
One is managed by a newbie, the other is a tier 3 team. The Overcheesers stole a march here by winning last week.

Ooh! Early season mind games. I like that.

I'm not sure who my rivals for bottom of the table obscurity are, so I'm not sure who to do mind games at.

The pressure's surely on the Wood Elves, are returning co-Champions, to take the title in an undisputed manner and prove they're not mere only-just-has-beens! And after a second place last season, the pressure must also totally be on the Pro Elves to build on their near-success and prove they're not eternal nearly-beens!

I also think the pressure is equally massively on both the Khemri and the Orcs as the only teams who can stop the Elves by bashing them into oblivion!

Another team under huge pressure, in my personal modest opinion, is the dwarves! This is because they are dwarves.

The new and rival but differing amounts of deadness teams of Undead and Necromantic are also under crushingly heavy pressure - can they survive in a hostile slightly more developed environment and defy the odds?! And the Necromantic coach is under pressure after last season's run of disappointing underperformances!

If I were pushed, I'd also say that the Norse are under crippling pressure to prove that they're not just a team of pansies, and the Nurgle are under almost as much pressure to prove that they can stand up to the manly elves and not lose heavily!


(I'm honestly not quite sure yet but I would give the top 4 and the Norse an equal chance of winning the league at the moment - obviously the early Khemri loss is a blow, but it's the longest season yet so one bad result surely isn't a season ender. Even the Chaos drew a game last season, if I recall. I would suggest that Wood Elves - Pro Elves - Orcs - Khemri - Norse - Necromantic - Nurgle - Undead - Underworld is a likely end of season standings, no disrespect meant to Bigballz99 "Andy" Tommep)

Well, they are Dwarves, the short gits. But that was an oversight and I apologise. I expect them to come between Nurgle and Undead.

We'll probably cope, he takes time off for roughly half of every match anyway, the massive and Really Stupid git.

I'm glad I didn't give the ladz the season off (probably beneficial for mushroom supplies too). I've never got a team this far developed (apart from SP, but that doesn't count) before, be nice to see where they end up.

But anyway, enough self indulgence. I think this season is defo a step up in class to last season - apart from the UnderCheesers everyone is playing a 'proper' team - I'm personally really looking forward to it. the range in TVs will be very interesting too, it was cool to see Morg'n'thorg out playing last weekend, even if he hogged all Wyld's SPPs.

My Predictions:
Namby Pamby sissies 1&2 - It pains me to say it, but they are gonna score lots, and unless the rest of us can break a lot of them, they'll be harder to stop now they're both developing well - 3rd season for the Treehuggers? Let's go Gap Yah Eton Pro Elves to win it, they have momentum from last season, whereas the treelickers have just played in Europe - we know how much of a hangover this can cause in the league...

3rd - Drunk 'Umanz A new team I know, but this is based totally on the coach - I've only played him once, but he knows what he's doing. And, I know how stag do's can get out of hand, the script is there writing itself...

4th - Da Ladz This is a goal rather than a prediction; they finished 5th last season, so PirlOrc has set the bar at steady progression (Incidently Percy heard the word 'prog' and stopped listening and though it was an order for some super mushrooms...)

5th - Dead 'Ard Umanzi The ladz were smiled upon by Nuffle in the opening week, and I'm glad... those Tomb Guardians are getting skills now... nobody wants that, well, apart from Rav.

6th - Filthy fake -gobbos and ratz Shoulderdong & multiple fouls. They gotta get you somewhere... and there's a level FOUR linerat. Someone's been hogging all the cheese

7th - Stubby Legz The Auld Enemy. PirlOrc is personally very intrigued to see for himself if the claims of Dwarves passing the ball is true or not... Either way the ladz are VERY much looking forward to a grudge match with the fellow founders of the great game...

8th - flea ridden dead 'Umanz I reckon they'll have a difficult first season, always the case when you first promote the academy kids. But, if the coach persists, and a 2nd mutt turns up, then they both start getting some skills... defo be a team to watch in the future.

9th New Old Dead 'Umanz Another batch of academy kids with a rookie coach. A season's valuable experience means will do wonders. I also wanted to buck the trend and not predict them to finish last...

10th - Rotting stuff that even Percy wouldn't eat...which means someone else has to. I'm only saying last not because they won't win, but more because I don't see them scoring much... However, I'm fully backing them to challenge the ladz for top of the Most Violent league...

Roll on the weekend! Nice to see the matches staggered due to television commitments, the profile of the cup really is going up

Week 2 predictions...

Everglade Wanderers vs The Cangurus: 3-3
Eballa vs. Stagocalypse: 1-2
The Mighty Undercheesers vs. The Orkly Ducklingz: 0-2
The Brewers Brawlers vs. Fables: 1-1
The Pinewood Carrions vs The Tomb Army: 2-1

So the rankings table looks quite interesting at the moment!

Fourth is not where I expected to be, and I'm not sure la expected to be third - but I agree with Diagaro that The Undercheesers team are not as weak as la tries to make out.

Whilst I'd love to see all Elves at the bottom of the table, I don't think Idanmel will stay there for long, nor Raveen for that matter.

I'm quite excited for the middle of the table ranking battles, and whilst I'd love to end up fourth at the end of the season I'd be equally happy for sixth.

I think this season is going to be a lot more about coach skill than anything else. Most teams have developed enough to really make the games more interesting than who can bash or pass the best.

But what about your predictions for week 3, id?!
