Tonight is not only the Finals of the RT BBL but also a night dedicated to the renowned Goblin poet, Grubbie Burns. Here's one of his verses.
Tae an Elf
Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous Elfie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na dodge awa sae hasty
Ah've nae got tackle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee,
Wi' murdering grapple.
But Elfie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving rerolls may be vain:
The best-laid schemes o' dwarves an' men
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!
Still thou are blest, compared wi' me!
With your towrin' agility:
But och! I backward roll my die,
On prospects drear!
An' forward, thro' my block an' see,
If Nuffle's will be fear!
Tae an Elf
Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous Elfie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na dodge awa sae hasty
Ah've nae got tackle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee,
Wi' murdering grapple.
But Elfie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving rerolls may be vain:
The best-laid schemes o' dwarves an' men

If Nuffle's will be fear!
