Should we allow more than one of each team in RTBBL?

Multiple Teams in the league

Postby id3nt1ty » Mon Apr 04, 2016 9:12 am

Now that we have ten teams in the league, and potentially more with Bard showing some interest and both Gandalf and Raveen's children should be old enough to roll dice by now, would you mind seeing duplicate teams in the league?

Well, I'd like a combination I guess - arbitrary limit of 2 teams, except everyone should have the chance of coaching Underworld, it's just not fair otherwise, so a limit of 10 Underworld teams.

edit: anyway, I've had seasons with games against, say, 3 of the same race, and seasons where I've played mirror matches, and I don't mind either. 2 would be a good limit to limit this, however.

I have no problems with multiple teams - in fact I'd encourage it to see how they develop differently - plus it's likely that the teams will be at different stages of development so it won't be like playing the same team twice.

I also see why there was a limit before, because variety is lovely.

Yep, but now we are verging on breaching a Coaches rights by forcing them to play teams as abhorrent as the Wood Elves, for example.

I honestly don't mind either way, especially now we've had all the races in the league. I'll still try for something unique where possible.

I used to be for multiple teams of the same race. But now I'm in favour of the current rule. But wouldn't object to it if it got trashed.

I don't think 10 is too big a number that we *need* to relax the rule. 12 teams? Maybe then.

If we do relax it I don't really want to see a league of 10 with 2 orcs 2 wood elves and 2 undead teams.

Careful Idan, people will start thinking you are American ;)

But that reminds me, I forgot to add the "Daylight Saving Teams" option, where Gandalf and la are only allowed six players on their teams in the hopes of speeding up their matches.

Also - dammit, who Abstained? I added that for old times sake, but I didn't expect anyone to click it. I guess it makes sense that we can't see who voted for what though.

But Abom plays Goblins so its much more fun to watch, and it all goes south quicker too.

What we SHOULD do is make the good coaches all play all-snotling teams; without inducements and let us mere mortals win something for once.

Perhaps it could be called Face Saving Time, Daigaro Ogami?

Have you forgotten playing my Ogres a few weeks ago?!
