RT BBL Season 9 Predictions Thread

Okay, I'll get in early and kick us off then! Roar!! New season fever!! The schedule goes skyward, and the predictions are on!

The Entheogen Experiment (Khorne) vs Raveen (Norse)

Horns and frenzy without block meets... block. But the ST 4 chappy was difficult to defend against in our friendly. Norse 2-1.

No Stable Isotopes (Underworld?) vs Punch Dummies (Goblin)

Should be funny whatever happens. I hope Dribblesnot is called on, he's amazing (despite the contrary views out there!). 2-2.

The Cheeseosophers vs Revenge of last plaice

Vampires v no tackle. Vampires to win 3-0, a mummy to cause damage.

It's A Sign! (Nurgle) vs Idanmel (Amazon)

Well, Gandalf's team doesn't have tackle. But against an unexperienced Amazon team? Hard not to see WG winning. 3-1 to the Sign.

New season! Roar!!

PhROAR indeed! Archimedes may be along later with his own take on things, but:

The Entheogen Experiment (Khorne) vs Raveen (Norse)
Block everywhere. Arg. 1-2, but with the crowd to kill a Norseman.

No Stable Isotopes (Underworld) vs Punch Dummies (Goblin)
Underworld to win 3-1 whilst hoping they don’t take any bad casualties.

The Cheeseosophers (Vampires) vs Revenge of last plaice (Undead)
The not entirely alive derby! I have a quarter of my vampires out. At least that means there’ll be less thralls bitten. 0-2.

It's A Sign! (Nurgle) vs Idanmel (Amazon)
2-2. It’ll be crazy.

League predictions with obvious logic attached. Logic is race-based, not coach-based so don't take offence...

1) Vampires (highest team value, very good track record)
2) Nurgle (easily 2nd highest team value so I have to put them here really... even though I'm not sure how they finished 2nd last time round & thus am unsure how to repeat the feat)
3) Norse (good at low value)
4) Amazon (good at low value)
5) Undead (good at low value)
6) Khorne (not particularly good at low value)
7) Underworld (not particularly good at winning)
8) Goblins (not particularly good at all)

This week, I agree with all of RL3's predictions, if not scores. Nurgle scoring 3 in particular sounds unlikely (in fact BBDB shows no side has scored 3 or more touchdowns in a game featuring It's A Sign). The block count in our game is going to be through the roof.

Crikey. Actual League Predictions?

I'll have to agree with all of Gandalf's positions there, except with Vampires at Fourth, and Khorne and Underworld swapped round.

If there's one thing I've learnt from doing the predictions, it's that I'm no good at it on a week-to-week basis but marginally better at doing season-long ones.

The Entheogen Experiment vs Punch Dummies - 2-0 Too much frenzy. Goblins to be hilarious as usual.

Raveen (Norse) vs Revenge of last plaice - Hmmm, dunno really. With the mummies on one side and block on the other it might come down to just who stays on their feet longer. 2-1 to somebody (for the sake of G's predictions thingy, if that's running, I'll go ROLP.)

No Stable Isotopes vs Yo Momma FC - Topes 2-1

The Cheeseosophers vs It's A Sign!

The big one. The two top-TV teams slugging it out early in the campaign. The Vamps might not start games well but somehow they get over the line ahead. Like they come back from the dead or something. So I think they'll win. Perhaps 2-1.

The Entheogen Experiment vs Punch Dummies - Standard Goblin prediction - they will lose but be funny.

Raveen (Norse) vs Revenge of last plaice - Rav not to turn up. When this game does actually happen, a Norse win, as they are pretty awesome at 1000TV.

No Stable Isotopes vs Yo Momma FC - a draw

The Cheeseosophers vs It's A Sign!
I've lost my fastest player... and have no players with tackle and thus no reliable way to stop the Vampires (well, except Plato - thanks RL3 for injuring one of them). If I'm lucky I'll get a draw, but I think I'll probably lose. PS I'm only worth 120k less so I don't know what this talk about loads of inducements is all about. The choice is a bribe, 3 rotters, 2 rotters & a pestigor or 1 rotter and a babe... hardly game-turning.

(for the sake of G's predictions thingy, if that's running, I'll go ROLP.)

Hmmm yes... it will be running, need to get it sorted (& last season's one finalised).

Really? I thought it was about 400 inducements. Anyway.

Khorne - but the chainsaw will kill someone nice and there will be at least one frenzy related turnover.

Norse - too much Block.

Draw - too much Dodge.

Draw - too much ST4.

It was 200k after last week's matches (smaller than it otherwise could be because of your injured vampire).

This however left me with an 11 player roster. I've hired a pestigor to replace the one who got killed, so that's 80k gone. Undecided on what else to do.

There seem to be only 3 of us doing predictions this season... Idan having dropped out during last season, and Daigaro/Rav having not posted on this thread so doesn't seem much point doing a spreadsheet this season.

If Rav & Daigaro arise then I'll do it. You're only missing 3 games so can easily catch up.

I will call Daigaro names until he does it. Although I doubt he'll make this evening's round of games in time.

More predictions!

It sounded like the games last night were quite entertaining. He's hoping the next lot are as well.

The Entheogen Experiment vs Revenge of last plaice

Ooh, a repeat of the pre-season friendly. A shambling zombie made it 1-0 in that game. 2-1 Undead this time?

Punch Dummies vs Idanmel (Amazon)

Low-armour dodgefest! Idanmel to grind out a 2-1.

Raveen (Norse) vs It's A Sign!

The Norse have block. The Nurgle have block and higher strength. Nurgle 2-0.

No Stable Isotopes vs The Cheeseosophers

Underworld v La. Possibly the Vampires' achilles heel, as La will be torn in two. That said, Vamps to win 3-0.

Yes!

The Entheogen Experiment vs Revenge of last plaice

Yep. Too much strength for frenzy, I reckon. 2-1 to the Undead.

Punch Dummies vs Yo Mommmma

Yeah! AV7! Chainsaw Heaven! Probably 2 or 3-1 to Idan.

Raveen (Norse) vs It's A Sign!

The Norse have block; the Nurgle have strength; 1-1 box of stodge.

No Stable Isotopes vs The Cheeseosophers

Full speed ahead for the game of the season! Yeah! Vampires to win it 6-4.

Raveen (Norse) vs Revenge of last plaice - Rav not to turn up.

Ahaaa I was right!

As for next week's scheduled fixtures....

The Entheogen Experiment vs Revenge of last plaice - Draw! Just to be different to the others.

Punch Dummies vs Yo Mom - yes, a crazy dodgefest awaits. Got to go for the non-stunty team. Their block will come in useful

Raveen (Norse) vs It's A Sign! - I have plenty of block/wrestle, negating the main plus point of new Norse teams, so a win for "The Sign".

No Stable Isotopes vs The Cheeseosophers - Vampires

I'm not reliably on the forums enough for predictions this season. I'll be back though, I'll be back!
