Right sportfans hers your chance to get advice from legendary player and coach, Raveen himself. Once voted 'player most likely to die in his debut season' by Spike magazine, first human to coach an orc squad and not wet himself on day one and only survivor of the Altdorf necromancer's convention incident. No question is to stupid unless it's that one about Zug and steroids.

Halfling Chefs.

These little chaps are an excellent inducement for Halfling teams. The opportunity to steal rerolls is top drawer for the money. However they charge twice the money for everyone else and that makes them to expensive for me. Try a wizard instead, the crowd love the smell of magic and burnt flesh.

I've tried a wizard twice. I've used both lightning and fireball. Both times I barely managed to put somebody on his back, no lasting effect. The fireballs AoE was full of targets, but I only managed to zap that one bloke. I'm not sure it's worth the money  :-\

I think Halfing Chefs cost three times as much for non-Halflings teams, not twice.

Is it possible to throw the ball after Going For It?

Do you think using inducements to bring on a Star Player is a good use of the money?

I think you can throw the ball after one gfi as you need the second to throw the ball. I might be making that up though so try an experiment. Certainly that's how it works when you blitz.

Some stars are worth the money and they're usually fun. Watch out for them having skills you're not used to using, hypno gaze on Eldril for example. If you use a star try to make the most out of them but don't let them hog all the SPPs because you won't see them again.

And you're quite right, the chef is 300k for other teams. Total rip off IMO, stunty bastards should be happy for the work without gouging the honest coach.

My Amazon team has 12 players (can't remember whether I had 3 or two blitzers)

Was saving up my cash for another blitzer as they are pretty awesome.

Unsure whether to save for an apothecary first though - I bought a wandering one for my first game (I was playing chaos) so maybe it's worth getting that first.

Thoughts?

You can indeed make a pass after two GFI rolls. So long as your player is still standing that is.

That's a tough call to make.  Amazon blitzers are blodging players.  That is, they come with both Block and Dodge skills.  That makes them nimble, bashy and hard to knock down.  Adding more to your lineup is definitely a good thing.
IMO, you don't need an apothecary until you've got a player or two leveled up to to the point where you don't want to have to replace them.  Before that point they're nice to have rather than essential.  A lineman (linewoman?) is going to be easy to toss aside if she gets a career ending injury right now.  Your other positionals less so, but it still applies.
That said, you already have a starting 11 and a spare.  Extending your roster is good, but IMO not essential at this point.  Personally, I'd go for the apothecary just to have that expenditure over with and then look at more players.  But wait until some of the others weigh in with their opinions before you commit.  Rav in particular is better at the metagame than I am so I'd at least wait to see what he thinks.

For Amazons an apothecary is almost essential. Sure you have lots of dodge but sooner or later the girls are going to go down (ooer...) And then that low armour is going to come into play. Induce  babes too if you can to keep as many players up and about as possible.

Bloat.

This is an odd little subject and one well worth examining. You've all noticed inducements by now and seen how powerful they can be, so its important not to give them away if you can help it. That means keeping on top of your TV so consider cutting that spare lineman, or that overskilled goblin. If it avoids you having to line up against Morg it's well worth it.

Meh. I think Morg 'n' Thorg is over rated anyway.

Stupid Question about the UI.

I thought you could buy Journeymen/Mercs you hired for one game, as permanent rostered players.

Can't see how to do this in the UI whenever I've played single player and have used them.

Am I missing something?  :o

No question about the ui is stupid, it's awful.

Specifically I'm not sure on this one. With necros I was definitely given the option to buy a resurrected zombie after the game. Could be a bug, could be hidden in the ui, idk.

How do I get any other than agility skills when levelling up my halflings? Do I need to roll doubles, or do I need to wait to be able to spend a double-level-up for those skills?
