BB Match Reports - 12th Feb

Postby Wyld Karde » Tue Feb 12, 2013 8:13 pm

Moria Murderers (Chaos Dwarf) vs Adept's Halfpints (Halfling)

To test that Chaos Edition is fully compatible with Legendary I created a quick chaos dwarf team and took on Adept's squad of murderous little fat guys.

Ouch!  If anything, I'd say chaos dwarves need a nerf.  Fresh out of the box with a <1k TV, they utterly annihilated Adept's team, inflicting massive amounts of damage including one kill and scoring with little effort for a final result of 2-0.

I had considered starting a fresh team to keep my usual chaos team from running further ahead in terms of TV and giving everyone else time to catch up.  I can say now I won't be doing that with the Moria Murderers.  If anything they're even more proficient bashers than the Astrogranite Apocalypse, and the presence of hobgoblins in the lineup means they're better ball handlers than basic dwarven teams.  About the only thing that went against the entire team was the death of a hobgoblin, which meant I had to spend my match winnings replacing him instead of saving up toward an apothecary or more of the specialist players.

What's the problem with "bloat" anyway? Your team gets better so it has a higher value... seems natural to me.

The problem is your team gets better beyond usefulness. First and second skills are usually great but after that it depends on the player. For your line fodder you don't need much more than Block/wrestle and dodge. Any extra skills on a guy whose job is simply to stand and get hit are just money in the bank for the opponent.

It's all about maximum impact for minimum TV.
