Overwatch

Postby Gandalf » Wed May 25, 2016 10:43 pm

It's, like, the new TF2 but not really.

Everyone's talking about it. The gaming press appear in love with it, some user comments are less complimentary, but without really saying much as to why. Anyone seen it? Fancy buying it? It's not cheap (£30) and needs a half-decent PC... but the requirements aren't too outlandish, my 7-yo backup PC almost meets the minimum requirements.

If I were to buy a game now it'd be Total War: Warhammer. Which I can't afford.

Hmmm I still love the whole team thing, being a part of something bigger, achieving a greater goal together. League of Legends does that, but has some downsides (eg too many toxic players). Overwatch is also a much shorter game time, and you only have to learn the pros & cons of 21 roles, not 100+. Plus there are roles you can play without being awesome with your fast mouse skills. Y'know, like a scout in Allegiance. :)

I've seen some Overwatch gameplay and was tempted.

Not so much by Total War: Warhammer. It looks a bit too Real Timey for me.

I played the open Beta. Really like it although I think the available modes are a bit too sparse for replay value. The maps are very nicely designed though and there are a lot of champions to try out so at least it has something to offer before they expand the modes.

I'm considering buying it but my own friends aren't convinced that it's worth the price yet. If you guys want to play then I would be up for buying it as well.

I'm currently playing it and having fun. If anyone else wants to pick it up and throw me a buddylist request my Blizznet ID is WyldKarde#2149.
