What are you piloting?

Postby PeekaySK » Tue Dec 11, 2012 2:26 am

So, here's the thingie I've spent all of tonight running around in:

Why, yes - that is indeed a 14-ton gun on a 35-ton mech, thanks for asking :P

Not exactly the most solid of designs, but it's quite hilarious when dragons ignore you (right until you take off their arm with one shot and then core them with 2 more).

I just own my founders Cat missileboat (needs work still), and the heroic Wang (ditto).

When I get home, I'll post a screenie of my Wang build - works just swell for me. It needs good positioning and situational awareness though, so if you're playing it like an LRM catapult, you probably won't get very far. I'd suggest you practice though, it'll make you a much better pilot :D

I'm still on trial mechs, and haven't played since the last two-three patches. If I knew I could wing with some of you guys I'd like to play, but going solo is not much fun.

You have me friended on Steam - I only run MWO via Steam anyways, so you can see when I'm playing. When I'm on, you're welcome to join me! :)

Don't worry, I'm not a one-trick pony Deng. I just yaven't played enough since the reset to get the C-bills I need for tweaking my mechs.

It seems like they gave a bit of $ for the holidays.
I have 6,854,131 credit.

Any recommendations on what to take? (I prefer speed-shielded annoying mechs over the slower ones where you actually have to know what you are doing.)

I was impatient so here's what I've got: Jenner, JR7-D
4 ML
NARC (1x ammo)
AMS (1x ammo)
Beagle probe

All the upgrades (chasis, armor, heatsinks).

97 km/h and max armor except in the legs (12 each).

It's a bit slow, but it works for now.
I may swap NARC for SRM4 for uncoordinated (PUG) play.

They added a cadet bonus that adds up to 8 million C-bills over the first 25 games (I may remember the amount wrong, but that is close). You also get given it as a lump sum if you've already played some or all of those 25 games.

Now I can finally customise my machines!

Morde, I actually prefer Ravens over Jenners, but that's just me - Jenners are stronger overall (due to the abundance of Energy hardpoints).

NARC used to be completely useless, they buffed it now (20s beacon lifetime instead of just 15s). I'd like to play a couple of games with you running NARC and me running my 4x LRM 15 Stalker, to see how it works out :D

I think I'd like that.
For that combo I'll re-equip the TAG too, I think I've red that they stack. ;)

For pure PUGing I think I'll make a commando SRM boat and run around and piss off people.

Are they gone or are they reduced?
I'll have to change interior design for xl engine, but I'll get it asap if it's economically viable.

I'm getting used to my new rig.
Three double heat sinks (11 because of the engine) are more than I need for 4 medium lasers and one srm6.
I'm halfway there with $ to buy the XL300.

I got rid of 2 med lasers (kept one in each arm), now I have 2x srm4 and 2x srm ammo.
I have just one jump jet to soften the falls and quicken ascends.

SRM salvo drive-bys are the idea here.
