Lakon also manufacture the Asp, y'know.

I'd assumed that all the classic snake ships were falcon or zp. The cockpit of the asp is very Lakon though, so that makes sense.

Hey, it's the limited Core Dynamics ship available. It's proper military style, to the tune of Starship Troopers and other classic military Sci-Fi. Only the mincing imperials would think you need an iShip Clipper for delibering mobile infantry down to planetside.

Hey, if you're going to do something, you might as well do it in style.

I think I have 9 million cr in cash now. Add the ~6 million from my hauler, and I'm about 5M short of the minimum requirements for a Dropship. I'm keeping the Cobra and the Freegle.

Have you managed to grind up the rank required?

Also, what are you going to do when the Corvette is released :)

Yup, I'm an Ensign for the feds. Once the Corvette comes out, I'll hopefully be a Post Captain, and I'll have to figure out a way to earn the 200 million (or whatever ridiculous sum) without losing my mind in the process.

Once I'm back from Sag A* I'll see where my finances stand. Selling the Nav data at Imperial stations will help my standing so it should be a case of doing some naval missions to get to Baron. No idea if I'll have the cash to get a Clipper, but there's always the Courier :)

And you don't need to be a baron to get a courier either. I suspect I would enjoy that ship a lot more than the clipper anyway.

So, the Courier will be a fairly small ship and cost two million credits. It sounds potentially very nice.

I'm now getting to grips with a Dropship. If flies like a gunship from Allegiance (a quick one with boosters), and I'm quite enjoying the sense of mass and intertia. I've also made it to Lieutenant in Federal rank. The Dropship has mostly D grade gear (A grade sensors and power distributor), and is armed with pulse lasers and multicannons. I'll try to turn it into something very tough when I can afford to.

Not mine, but a good pic of somebody's Dropship

I just rolled out of a conflict zone with an even 800k in combat bonds. I was down to 54% hull before I decided to skedaddle. That was my best fight yet. Otherwise I have 27mil in cash and this expensive Cobra. There's a 4 mil cannon in one socket, I have no idea how much the rest cost. Biggest power plant, military grade hull with reinforcements etc.

Logged in yesterday for the first time in months. Did a few pirate killing missions, but found it pretty boring.

I might take up a life of piracy and smuggling instead. Thinking of selling the Cobra for some kind of Diamonback, but my minds not made up yet. I might just go for a refit instead. Anyone had any experience with the new ships?

Also, what's with Power play? can I get away with not aligning myself with anyone? At a brief glance it seems like the big powers are the ones that have attracted all the players attention.

You don't have to engage in power play at all, I don't particularly intend to anyway.

For piracy I think the Cobra's a pretty good ship, combat and cargo in one package. Or go for a Python. Not sure about the Diamondbacks. For pure combat get a Vulture or team up with a cargo ship for Pirate profits.

Are you volunteering?

Yeah, I've done a little reading and will probably stick with my Cobra for now.
