You just do a nested IF statement. I'm guessing you haven't done much with Excel in your time?

Anyhow it's faffy to implement as your predictions keep changing as I make other changes to the spreadsheet. So I'm not doing it.

I think la & RL3 are actually the same person. Last 9 predictions have been the same....

As for mine this coming weekend...
Halflings - D.Elves = Draw. It's notjarvis' favourite result at the moment, and the halflings are bound to not lose a game at some point, so why can't they do it against a lightly-levelled and lightly-skilled team with no ST4 players?
Orcs - Undercheesers. Not sure what to make of the Underworld's drop in form, and I'm not well placed to analyse the Orcs either, after their un-typical tactics last weekend. I'll go for an Orc win.
Zons vs Skaven. Amazons, because it helps the Wood Elves' title chances. And also because they have more Tackle.
Fables vs. KaBoom stick. I'd like to go undead but is Moose familiar enough with them yet? I think not. Prove me wrong Moose! The Fables to win.

Actually Gandalf, I think the sweet TV spot for my opponents is a bit higher than the new teams can provide just yet. I think I would choose to go against TV1300-1500 ideally to get the iducements I crave.

I predict:

D.Elves to win by 2

Undecheesers to win by 2 having won the casualty battle

Amazons to win by 1

Fables! to win by 1

You just do them once, copy, paste values... and you call me out for not excelling much :P

But no, I don't use Excel at all. The problem I had with using nested if statements was that I'd have to use more than one RAND().

Matches this catch-up week looks like being...
- Moose's Skaven Boomstick vs Notjarvis' Dark Doctor Elves
- Raveen's halflings vs. RL3's Amazon

Looking at the spreadsheet only 3 people have predictions in for the first one, whereas all except notj have predictions in for the second one. So if you're missing a prediction, get one in, and if you have one in already, feel free to change it.

So the only person who can edit the sheet is currently in first place? And you lot called me corrupt :)

For the Undead vs the Dark Elves: I think nj is going to have similar trouble with the Mummies to what I presented with my Trees and the rest of the undead team are not Halflings. 2-1 to the Boomstick.

Halflings vs Amazons: Clearly the Zon's are doing well this season but I'm getting the hang of the Flings too. I'm going out on a limb and predicting a 1-1 draw.

Hmmm, well, a draw is a good shout. The Zons seem to excel at them. Not tempted by 6-6 though?

Skaven to win, yes. 2-1 as well why not?

Amazons to win. 3-1! (But, ok, realistically a draw could well sneak up and ambush the ladies at any time.)

The Elves were lucky to scrape a draw against the Halflings.

Nj, think of them as a Treeman team with Halfling positionals, that's basically how I'm playing them.

Think that's all up to date now, Raveen and la joint top with 10 each, and I'm only not bottom because a) I have 10 bonus points as the commissioner asked me to be more corrupt, b) notjarvis' missed entering quite a few predictions and always predicts himself to lose, which has never happened thus far.

With 19 games gone we are just past half-way so it's time for a mid season review! Here's the table

First we have the title contenders, the 13th Doomwheel (W3D1L1), the Everglade Wanderers (W3L1) and Fables! (W3L1). Fables! recently lost their star player Bigby Wolf - it remains to be seen how big a blow that will be to them. That wolf could really make some big plays. The Wanderers still have their big players available despite being brutalised by the Orcs in their last encounter. As for the Skaven outfit, well, they fired and re-hired a load of players last week leading to many wondering if Abombom has lost his marbles. If you were a betting man you'd probably go for the Woodies here, as they have already played the other 2 contenders, effectively have an extra 0.5 points due to a large TD difference and are traditionally a top tier team, along with the Skaven, who dropped some points recently. However there's a long way to go and there's very little in it so there's not really a clear favourite. The 13th Doomwheel vs Fables! on the last day of the season could be a big game.

Next up comes mid-table - The Brave Harts (W1D4), Bad For Thine Elf (W1D3) and Orkly Ducklingz (W1D1L2). After an initial win, the Amazons have gone in a statistically-unlikely run of 4 consecutive draws. Maybe they are good at nullifying opposition but can't get past opponents either? Or maybe it's all dice. The Dark Elves managed to break their run of 3 draws with a win recently, despite predicting 4 losses and making every game sound like it's all going the way of his opponent. They are the most likely of these 3 to make a late challenge for the top. The Orkly Ducklingz sacrificed their last game with the aim of hurting the Wood Elves enough to give the rest of the league a chance against them. It didn't quite work, but on the plus side no Black Orcs have been retired this season yet.

At the bottom we have The Mighty Undercheesers (D3L2), Hambridge Archers (D2L2) and A Fistful of Boomstick (L3). After winning season 4, this season hasn't gone quite right for the Undercheesers, but with such pedigree you can't write them off in any game, and indeed managed to turn a sure loss into a draw in their last match. The Halflings have improved after two early losses, gaining two credible and amusing draws. Will they snatch a win in the reminder of the season? And finally we have Moose at the bottom, coaching a new team. He has had to battle epic problems with his ISP and computer this season and Nuffle has cruelly decided to reward him with 3 defeats. He deserves better than this! Let us remember his last season started with 3 straight defeats, before getting 2 wins and a draw in his last 5, so everything is not yet lost, and I would still make halflings favourite to finish bottom.

-----------------------

Next week's matches as things stand:

Woodies vs Undies : a rematch of the top 2 teams from season 4! At least my Ogre team marked the beginning of the end for David Bowie I in a pre-season friendly. I much prefer David Bowie II as he doesn't have tentacles (yet).
Dark Elves vs. Skaven : This could be interesting, especially as notj has a few more skills in his team now. Lots of TD's surely?
Orkly Ducklingz vs. Boomstick : Two bashy teams, albeit one with considerably more skills than the other. Can moose get the most from his inducements?
Brave Harts vs. Fables! : Somehow this will be a draw, I'm sure.
