With 2 draws from 4, they are but young upstarts compared to the zons! BBDB shows they have 9 draws in 19 matches - more draws than any other team despite their relatively young age. eg Everglade Wanderers, Saur'd of Justice & Cheesosophers have 1 draw each despite having played 27, 16 and 24 games respectively.

@la yes it was a good night yesterday, there was much jollity among the players online, match ratings of 17 and 19 reflect he excitement involved. Kudos for moose who tried for some 45 minutes to get logged on before eventually succeeding. Even if their game did crash on turn 15.

Idan says he plans to be busy on Sunday nights in the future so not sure if he will be back long term - but it sure was good to catch up with him again.

My memory's a bit hazy on this match so please overlook anything I get wrong. Also I was holding two babies for most of it and trying to stop them grizzling so I was a bit distracted :)

Well, I had some inducements to pick given that my team is worth less than half the value of the Amazons. I went for my ideal roster of Deeproot, Zara, a Chef and a Wizard (in an ideal world I'd get babes too).

We lined up on the pitch and Redlion elected to punt the ball my way. The first turn started and I pushed some Amazons about a bit, grabbed the ball (probably) and generally tried to make life hard for the Amazons without actually hurting anyone. I now know who nj felt last week :)

Using the trees to push forwards and Zara as a stabbing blitzer allowed me to get up the right flank and score in turn 4 or 5. The score was acheived by screening behind a tree and then lobbing the ball carrier over the defensive line to run home a TD.

I kicked to the Amazons and they came down the sidelines neatly avoiding the Trees and leaving them behind. Zara was also held on the opposite sideline and unable to get into the drive properly. I was able to stall the drive though and we went into halftime at 1-0 (I think)

The amazons scored quickly in the second half once I'd expended most of my halfling ammunition. Again the Trees got left behind and Zara was isolated and eventually knocked out.

She was back for the next kickoff though and the ball landed short. I pulled off my first one turn touchdown by picking up one square back from the LoS, handing off, blitzing a defender back from the tree, throwing the 'fling, scattering well, landing and running home. All in the rain.

The Amazons again got through my defences even after a blitz result on the kickoff table and stalled out to score an equallizer in turn 16. I had a theoretical chance for another 1TTD but the ball landed too deep and I didn't have enough 'flings for coverage.

Lots of fun was had even if the rain poured down through the whole match and there were a couple of turns were my halflings outperformed expectations by running through multiple tacklezones and picking up when they really shouldn't have been able to. The sighs from RL were totally understandable.

Most of all thanks to RL for pausing when I had to go and burp the baby and put her to bed following a bottle, it's much appreciated!

Only just got around to Report.

- Undead get some inducements and take some Bribes
- Weather is Very sunny (-1 passes)
- Dark Elves elect to receive.
First half
- Delfs Pick up the ball, Fail to hit, but set up a cage on their Right intending to do this "Spiky Running Game" they've heard the Delfs are good at. And push a few players into the Undead half, to ElfBall if needed. But out of touch of any players, as hitting won;t win today.
- The Undead quite sensibly get lots of players in the dark elf faces, and hit a bit but turnover when a single dice block fails.
- The Delfs start their next turn by dodging one of the possible receivers out of the player marking him, but a total catastrophe happens as even with Dodge he fails to make the 2+ roll. The Delfs turn ending immediately.
- The undead start hitting, knocking over 4 players but not making armour, then injuring another and stunning a sixth. And bringing all their players to bear on the disintegrating cage. But they can't get through to hit the ball carrier!
- The Delfs decide Caging isn't working retreat to the back field, handoff to a lineman, who elfballs a long pass (in sunny weather so it was a lucky 5+) to the Blitzer receiver who had tripped over his shoelaces last turn, who redeems himself by catching the ball. The rest of the turn sees delfs getting up and dodging out of tackle zones to give as much cover as they can to the ball carrier.
- The Undead can only get a single Die block on the Blodger with the ball which is unsuccessful, and they get an awful lot of pushes otherwise so the Delfs next turn sees them run in to score.
1-0 to the Delfs around turn 3
- The undead receive and immediately start their drive by injuring another Delf. and knocking over the odd player. before forming an old fashioned cage
- elves do a double Layered Defence thing as the ball is well protected, to try and slow the cage.
- Eventually the ball carrier tries a run for it from the cage as the clock is ticking. and The Delfs tackle. which is a success and they pickup the loose ball, and hand it off to a player at the sideline, but he gets pushed off the field and the ball is free, but with no real time left to score.

1-0 to the Delfs at half time

- Second half Kicks off. Undead receive pick up the ball and Cage Up, but a ghool Fails a dodge and Ko's himself, leaving a gap for a Delf Blitzer to get a single Dice block on the ball.
- The ball scatters free, so the Delfs pick it up, and try to throw it downfield, but a combination of the Sun and Long pass means they can;t get it away.
- The delfs manage to pick up the ball again though and roll downfield to score around turn 14-15
2-0 to the Delfs
- Unfortunately at this point the Game crashes, but as it's so late in the game Moose kindly allows the game to stand at the scoreline the game ended.

Overview
An open game, which if I weren't so lucky in the first half with the First TD could have gone differently, and the dice at crucial moments went my way. Especially the passage from start of turn 3 (where I had 7 players lying down taking a rest, Undead all around them and the ball in my possession on the LOS) to the end of Turn 3 where I was favourite to score was a match turning moment I think

Dice
D6 very clearly went the Dark Elves way with a +14 swing (according to BBM +11 probability versus -4), would have been exceptionally difficult for Moose to win against that.
Block dice were ostensibly Moose's way, but a couple of Crucial blocks went the Dark Elves way too, I made 8 single dice blocks and half of them ended with an opponent knocked down, and a couple of those were tackling the ball carrier.

Ducklingz find out what it's like to get hit...

Image

Percy's memory is a littel hazy for this match, jetlag from Oz followed by a match followed by a trip to Scotland in the rain has left him a little dazed; but here's what he remembers...

Ducklingz elect to kick off; and the weather changes from Perfect Blood Bowl Weather to Perfect Blood Bowl Weather like its does for every other kick off during the match.

Boomstick have signed Ramtut for the match; and him plus two mummies on the LoS leaves the Ducklingz front line of Percy and Black Orcs in disarray. Percy had forgotten what it was like to play teams that punch back.

Boomstick smash a hole and move through with the ball, shattering PirlOrc's collar bone in the process (-ST to go with his -MA...) but the wonder-apothecary fairy plays nice for once and fixes it up a treat so he's ready to rejoin the field on the next down.

The Ducklingz go for a last ditch tackle on the ball carrier but fail a GFI and the boomstick score.

Percy can't remember much of how it happened; but the between them Harriet and Gerty make some space, kill a skeleton, finally pass a GFI and grab a score back in turn 8.

2nd half the Ducklingz aim for the classic 8-turn drive and focus on some pitch control and trying to find ways to tell the Mummies and Ramtut to bugger off.

It's all going well until a Ghoul dodges through 457 tackle zones; two dice block against (with no skills) on PilrOrc the ball carrier; gets the ball free, dodges some more and picks up the ball. The Git.

However, the ghoul's luck runs out as he gets shoved off the pitch and the ball scatters favourably for the Ducklingz; who manage to stand still long enough for some skele's to trip themselves up and die a bit; leaving PirlOrc enough time to limp up the pitch and score in turn 16.

Shout out to Mandela who started the drive on the LoS; got gang blocked right to the sidelines but in perfect 'Over the Top' fashion fought his way back, tripped up some skeles, broke another one and earned himself MVP and now is the most XP'ed up Black Orc, overtaking ST5 Leroy.

Moose played a bloody good game; without trying some extreme dodging (even if one did pay off) I think it would've been a draw - excellent work on the blocking front as you got assist's int eh right place next to the big guys and took out the guard players so it was all uphill blocking for me and you made up for your lack of skills buy engineering 2DB or 3DB blocks for yourself.

One thing I will note... you had a few bribes and didn't foul... that TV could've been used more wisely... or just remember to foul more!!!

Good game Moose :)

Another draw for the Amazons. It's a bad day on the pitch for the Necromantic.

The Fables win the toss and decide to kick. The Amazons push forward with the ball, but get a couple of players KO'd or pushed off the sideline. Beast dodges away from a lady in a bikini, but wasn't paying attention to where he was going and trips over, breaking his neck (-AG). Boy Blue, so shocked at the sudden demise of his new mentor, fails to defend himself properly from another bikini clad warrior and is badly hurt. 1-0 to the Brave Harts at turn three.

With both werewolves out, the Fables know they are in for a rough ride. The receive the ball; feint up the left before switching side and doing a proper push up the right. The Amazons keep on top of the Ghoul/Wight loose cage with their +MA players, and even injure out Wilhem Grim (Damaged Back), but some impressive Dodging by Bufkin sees the score improbably at 1-1 at half time.

The second half starts with the Fables two players down vs a full complement of Brave Harts. The ball is kicked deep, so Bufkin and Fairy Godmother try passing to get Fairy Godmother the single SPP she needs to level up. Two turns pass with no successful passes and the Amazons and starting to bare down on the Ghouls. Not wanting to concede and easy touchdown, the Ghouls stop their messing around and start running the ball up the pitch. Thanks to sidestep they manage to make their way into the Brave Harts half before finally losing the ball in turn 14. There is a bit of a scrum going on so the Amazons don't get their hands on the ball as fast as they might like, and eventually find that their only chance of winning is a turn 16 hand off in the rain which unfortunately fails.

Dice:
The D6 were fairly even, I actually had -1.33 despite my run of good dodges, Moose had 2.11.
I rolled 52 block dice but only got five Defender Downs (the only useful roll against this Amazon team). I broke armour every time though, giving me a 2D6 of 56.6, vs Red Lion's 12.05. Red Lion got a lot of Both Down, but he had more Block than me so it wasn't that bad.

Well played Red Lion. My advice to you would be don't get drawn into your opponents half so much chasing the ball carrier. Defend more defensively and you'll be in a better position to force your opponent into mistakes and then take advantage of them (and your opponent will be less likely to run sneaky dodging plays through your half).

Nice match report, and thanks for the advice!

Move of the day: Bufkin's "dodge dodge dodge dodge dodge" (was it four or five?) down the side.

And wow, side step is really annoying! Good game - your injury luck was horrible.

Wood Elves win with a flattering scoreline (easily could've been 2-2)

I think it was five. At least two were into two tackle zones.

Ah well, that's the way the game goes some times.
