You better go and edit it if you think there are any dead werewolves in this league. Bigby is alive and well thank you very much. He's had surgery on his Collar Bone which was successful, but some minor complications have resulted in all his skills being reset. He'll be appearing against the Dark Elves this Sunday.

You might find them a bit woody.

It's episode 2 on the Trollcast and Percy has managed to get us an exclusive newsflash! After that Dave and Ol run through a guide for people new to Blood Bowl. Then there's a look at the players and tactics of the Orc team. The Rolling Thunder Blood Bowl League gets some scrutiny and then there's just enough time for some shout outs.

Another good cast, cheers! Shame you got all the facts about Bigby wrong... Strength 4? I wish! He was AG4, Leap and Blodge.

Liked it, thanks :-)

A minor point, you mentioned people outside of RT are listening, but go into depth about the RT league and teams.

For people from outside to get a proper feel for it would it be worth putting a snapshot of the League Table and the Rosters up on the Blog?

(I wouldn;t mind doing this for you if you wish)

I'm sure it bugs me more than most people, but there were a few incorrect "facts" mentioned in the podcast that are easily cleared up by looking at BBDB, eg Wood Elves having play more than anyone else (nope), werewolf levels etc.

Loving the Alan chat :D

Feel free to link to BBDB from the blog if you'd like. Non RT players can't upload to it anyway without the top secret password. If you want to cover BBDB in a future podcast then I'd be happy to give an interview, not that I rate my interview voice/style.

Thanks for the offer Gandalf, we'll bear it in mind. I'd like to do interviews but at the moment it's hard enough finding time for Daigoro and I to record let alone adding in a third party! It's not a coincidence that the teams we're covering in the first half dozen episodes are teams we've played in the RTBBL!

Personally I'd like BBDB to be a bit more polished before we go public with it (so at least as feature complete and accessible as BBM) but obviously it's your baby so if you're happy for us to use its outputs now then I'll see what I can put together.

From my POV it would be easy to build a blog page with the BBM images so I'll most likely do that now. If / when there's a simple way to link to BBDB then I'll switch to it (I might need help if there's any html because I am a dunce at coding and related gubbins!).

This is probably a wise thing. I'm hoping to start work on v2 this side of Christmas so maybe in 3-4 months we will have better dice analysis and the like, and the list of "reasons why BBM is better than BBDB" will be increasingly small.

You could do a little spot on it before then, saying it's pretty good & improving & that you will do a full story on it later. But thinking about it I'm quite ambivalent about whether you do that or not. I'll leave it to Percy to decide. :)

edit: I'd say BBDB is pretty similar in terms of accessibility to BBM right now. Yes uploading files is fiddly, but you don't need to download a separate program to view stats, and it's faster to navigate around.

PS - thanks to your podcast for highlighting that some BB2 players have different stats to BB1, because of that I've made space in the database design for that :)

Glad to be of service, although I think we've covered all the differences in player costs now.

I was chatting with Daigaro today and we were wondering about an easy way to listen to podcasts on Android stuff. At the moment it seems our options are:
  • Listen online;
  • Download the audio if you are using a browser that will let you (i.e. not mobile);
  • Subscribe in iTunes.

Does anyone have any tips for listening on Android?
If there's nothing easy yet, it's probably worth waiting for Google's Podcast service to go online. Looks like it should be integrated with Play Muisc which would be nice.

Cheers nj, looks reasonable. I think as long as we have access to the RSS feed we can use a few different apps.
