I'm currently exploring and exploiting the terribad mechanics for gaining navy rank.

The Federal system Tun has only a single station "Tun's Wart", and three Federal factions. As a result, the bulletin board has a lot of charity missions, and by switching between open, group and solo, I can do them by the dozens. It is the single dumbest mechanic I have ever seen in an MMO, and it's what I need to do to go up the Navy Auxiliary ranks in a sane amount of hours.

I did that to get my Baron rank in the Empire. I might go to Tun to get my Sol pass though, I'd like to take my lad on a tour of the solar system (in the elegant surroundings of my Clipper of course).

Oh it did. It's monumentally daft but it's done now. I've got 2 ranks with the Feds so 2 more to go before I get my permit.
