It's a bit hard to remember this game as I had two grizzly babies for part of it and it was the third attempt to defeat the internet pixie that's been plaguing Moose of the evening.

We set up and I kicked. Moose gathered the ball and made a solid grind down the pitch to score a textbook touchdown. I then received and tried for a 1TTD to even things up but failed as the ball carrier failed his landing. Moose tried again but didn't have time to get to the endzone.

In the second half I tried the one turner again and this time it came off nicely.

Then I had to kick to Moose. I had to decide between either stalling him out or hoping to score a second TD quickly. In the end Moose got too ambitious with his cage and moved within range of Zara and one of the trees. Zara broke in and blitzed the ball free. I couldn't get the ball safe though even though I ran a halfling in to pick it up so I handed it to Zara. it took a few turns to get her free but a St 4 Blodger is very hard to get the ball off and she made it up the pitch pausing only to deck a ghoul who got in her way.

Final score 2-1 to the Archers.

I call foul play.

Zara is dead and is therefore unselectable.

Surely.

No?

Looks like the undead suffered an awful lot of KO's.

This means we're on track to finish the league on schedule! Hurrah!

Good day sport fans! This weekend we should see the final matches of the Season 7 League, and it's the final chance for our Blood Bowl teams to qualify for the Parma Violence Cup! Before we take a look at the matches, lets see how the teams are currently set to qualify.

24 - Orkly Ducklingz
20 - A Fistful of Boomstick
20 - The Brave Harts
15 - Hambridge Archers
15 - The Mighty UnderCheesers
13 - The 13th Doomwheel
11 - Everglade Wanderers
10 - Bad for Thy Elf
10 - Fables!

At the top end of the table, the Orkly Ducklingz are running away with the competition. Despite receiving numerous career ending injuries himself (some say he just doesn't know when to quit), PirlOrc has turned his team of glass-jawed Black Ocs into a full on murdering machine. Gandalf, RTBBL's liaison from the Guild of Numerancy, has predicted that the Ducklingz could rack up at least five more injuries in their final game and that's not even taking into account the squishy properties of their opponents.

At the other end of the table we have a three way battle to stay in the Cup. The Everglad Wanderes, Bad for Thy Elf and the Fables all have a match to play this weekend. As well as being quite likely to qualify by default, the Wanders are reasonably well set up to inflict injuries on low to average armour teams whilst the Dark Elves are just getting started with their skills. Bad for Thy Elf do have a history of doing well on the injury rolls though, so they may be able to do enough to stay ahead of the Fables who have finally managed to get Mister Dark's Mighty Blow match ready.

On to this week's fixtures!

First up we have the Hambridge Archers vs The Orkly Ducklingz in what is highly likely to be the most violent game of the season. The Orkly Ducklingz are in with a good chance of breaking the most-violent-team-in-a-season record too.

Next we have the Dirty Elf Derby in which the dirty cheating Everglade Wanderers face off against the dirty doctors, Bad For Thy Elf. A win here would hand the Wanderers another top of the league finish but don't discount the ever present possibility that Nuffle's favourite son could run away with the game.

Finally, we have the match of the season for the Fables! as they come up against the only team that can outrun their Werewolves, The 13th Doomwheel. The Fables league position is riding on this match but don't doubt that The 13th Doomwheel are eager for a win to top off their almost run-away first season. If the Fables can hang on to a draw or even win they'll keep third place, but a loss will almost certainly mean they drop down to fourth position. The Fables will be looking to inflict some injuries as well to make sure they qualify for the Parma Violence Cup.

All in all it's set to be an exciting evening of Blood Bowl! Before we go, we just have time for an update on the former star player, Zara the Slayer, now known as Zara the Betrayer. As you know, Zara shot to fame in 2496 when she staked the Black Sabbeths' Vampire Lord head coach as he ran onto the pitch. Since then she has always been willing to play for teams seeking an advantage over the Undead, spreading her Message of Virtue and condemning, in her own words, the "profane and unnatural" art of Necromancy. However, her virtue was tainted by the corroding shadow of controversy last weekend as she was finally executed by the Fables very own Mister Dark. Fans watched in horror as the black maw of Hell opened on the pitch and reanimated Zara's apparently dead body before it disappeared in a flash of poisonous green light. Zara next appeared playing for the Halfing team the Hambridge Archers this week in their game against A Fistful of Boomstick, claiming ignorance of the whole event and once again reiterating her zealous condemnation of Necromancy. The most widely accepted explanation we have for these ground-shaking events is that Zara herself is a Necromancer, and she's using a thin veneer of purity to position herself against some of the greatest Blood Bowl players of our generation.

Abom, I just realise I completely forgot to submit our match to BBDB. If you get a chance, could you? Otherwise I'm happy to do it when I get home from work this evening.

In other news, the Dark elves haven't qualified for the Cup, which is probably for the best as I've a busy few weeks ahead with work and stuff, may need to do some extra work sunday nights and stuff.
