Percy is well up for a friendly gathering around the camp fire, family BBQ and then a gentle game of 'Chuck the Synthetic-Pigskin-Replacement-Material Oval' to each other followed by a collective sit down and review of the loveliness and togetherness that just happened.

He should be over his hangover by Sunday night so that'll be a cracking time.

The Rock-Knockers would like to try this new style of game that Percy describes. They might not get it all exactly right first go though, they don't learn fast (they're geologists after all).

Whilst Percy is looking forward to to bringing his new Way to everyone, maybe a bunch of field-seasoned rock lickers wouldn't be the most 'receptive' to his fresh, new followers...

Charlie Browntrout and pals, a.k.a. "The Revenge of Last Plaice" (title referring to the haplessness of their fictional counterparts, rather than any previous league positioning), would be happy to battle the Chorfs if Percy isn't up to the task. They're keen to show they can do better than the gals right from the get-go.

Cool, seeing as Percy's too much of a wuss I'll play the undead. After all what's so scary about two St 5 MB players?..

Good stuff. And in answer to your rhetorical question: the third high-ST player that can probably be bought with inducements (I haven't checked the TV of the Chorfs, or which star players are available to the Undead, but I presume Morg will be available?)

Very much looking forward to the game and trying out a new team.

Morg doesn't play for undead teams because Tomolandry the Undying hired him and then got his teammate Ramtut III to try and kill him so that Tomolandry could raise him as a super zombie.

Oh and you shouldn't take the bombardier :)

Will post a match report tomorrow. It was a nuts game and a lot of fun. Also a new legend was born, his name is Madisson. 5 casualties and one TD... they call him 'scourge of Goblins'...

The bombardier didn't even try to throw a single bomb! We did have a thrown goblin though so that makes up for it a bit in my book.

edit: http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/matchdetai ... atch_id=83 to see the injury list!

Two fresh teams took to the field - the Norse with 11 players, the goblins with 16, and a bribe.

First half and the goblins received. It's hard to cage up with ST2 players though and I got in there quite soon. Much hitting occurred and Madisson the Berzerker was in the thick of it, getting 3 casualties in the first 5(?) turns! In return my thrower got badly hurt, and the goblin looney (chainsaw dude) didn't do much. Madisson thumped the ball carrier, the ball bounced into his hand, and after waiting a turn or 2 to make sure all the goblins were lying down or off the pitch,he scored in turn 6.

The Goblin team were unable to fashion an equalizer in what was left of the half. I think Madisson injured someone else. 11 SPP in his first half of playing...

Second half kicked off with both sides depleted. 4 goblins ganged up to crowd-surf my other Berzerker, whilst I hit the other goblins and marked the ball. Then I picked it up and threw it to Madisson who was free and in space... but a double-one left it on the floor next to the thrower. Madisson let down by his sub-awesome colleagues! A brief scramble ensued, the highlight of which was the pogoer bouncing along joyfully towards the ball..... before falling off and killing himself with a failed GFI  Then a goblin dodged in, picked it up in a tackle zone, dodged out and GFIx2 to score. It was either this drive or next where I had one turn ended by double skulls, then the first block of the next turn was also double skulls.

So it was 1-1 now with 3 or 4 turns left... I think it was 8 norsemen versus 2 trolls and 5 goblins. I hit a few, Madisson got his 5th casualty (from 5 successful blocks!!!). I had some turns ended prematurely with some naff dice and couldn't even pick the ball up. A goblin was thrown downfield, landed on his feet, sneaked in, picked up the ball and scored.... 2-1 to the punch dummies.

1 turn left each, I hit some more people, Madisson nearly got his 6th casualty as a troll hit him and fell over, but the armour saved him.

Dice
Abom had better D6, the score was about 10 - 0. For example he had 24/25 Really Stupid rolls succeed, and I had 0/5 passes.
2D6 Abom again had better according to BBM, he managed to break my armour more than I broke his despite a lower number of blocks and heavier armour to break. However BBM's chance score does not take into account injury rolls, which is where my luck was concentrated. I caused injuries with 9 out of 15 injury rolls. With stunty that equates to rolling 9+ on 2D6. The chance of succeeding with 9 out of 15 rolls is.... 0.1942%!
I would say the block dice were fairly equal, as we had very similar success rates with similar avergae dice rolled per block. With one side having block and the other dodge, this is what you'd expect.
There was a lot of luck going on with the 2 goblin TD's, but hey you need some luck and I'm not unhappy with losing a friendly whilst getting a load of SPP's and not getting any injuries. I think I had the better dice in the first half but this was outweighed by the goblin dice in the second half (injury rolls excepted of course). GG Abom it was a lot of fun!

I love goblins. :D

Of particular note that game is that the goblins did end up surfing 2 norsemen, rather than the other way around. This led to a bunch of goblins standing around at times doing nothing, reveling in their surfing skills and watching the game from the sidelines.

Mine too!
--------------------------

In tonight's action, all the bad 2D6 I didn't get vs. Abom came out in a remarkably peaceful game. Only injuries were caused by rocks from crowd!

It was a lovely sit-down fest; The 'Sons agreed to try out the new rules put forward in Percy's new Way that instead of blocks the opponent offers a question non-aggressive conflict resolution instead; the the block-ee has to sit down for as long as it takes for them the come up with an answer; or even demonstrate their answer; if you will. Glad to report the the 'Sons were delighted with this new approach and everyone from both teams enjoyed post game toasted marshmallows around the Pacifist campfire.

Oh, apart from the two unfortunate souls who suffered freak injuries when fan's attempted to throw them Jeremy Corbyn's "Questions from the BB Community" to debate over - Sadly the Community decided to weigh down the notes with rocks... one broke a linelf's leg and the other gave a Norseman a niggle. The Pacifists are looking into carrier pigeons for future correspondence from the crowd.

But, the Pacifists gave an excellent demonstration of Percy's Way with their TD - John Lennon wanged a Peace Pass downfield to Henry 'The Apostle of Peace' Richard who caught it in two tackle zones; excused himself, then dodged umpteen times and GFI'ed twice to score a TD so full of elfball even Gandalf nearly vomited.

As a reward he not only got MVP but also an AG up too. The rightous are rewarded accordingly, no?

What the chuff do you do with an AG5 linelf?

the other gave a Norseman a niggle.

Correction... gave a 110k ulfwerner a -1AG.... which my new apothecary turned into a dead (doh). He'll be staying for the time being as I rarely make AG rolls on them (they only start AG2), he's expensive, and has the best name on the team (Un-Son Hero).

My star player from the last game got KO'ed on turn 1 and was a lazy slob, drinking beer I guess, he returned on the Elf's turn 16, so he had the chance to do precisely 0 actions all game. I guess his Mighty Blow skill wasn't really in keeping with the elves' beliefs.

The chance difference between us on the 2D6 was 42 I believe. Makes my net luck on 2D6 across the last 2 games something approaching average.

Funny moment of the match was probably when I hit Ghandi 5 time in succession... he started 1 square of the middle but got hit sideways by 2 frenzy people (who only rolled red skulls and pushes) before finally getting knocked over at the 5th time of asking. Next turn he got up and managed to get downfield to stand next to the ball. What an annoying dude!

Daigaro had 4 rerolls and needed them with the stuff he was trying to do. An elf team with no dodge vs a team loaded with block meant the odds were against him. Given a few more matches and the accompanying skills I'm sure this team will be ready to do elfball on a more regular and reliable basis.

What the chuff do you do with an AG5 linelf?

Give him dodge and laugh... he can go through 1 tackle zone with a 2+... or can pickup/catch the ball in 1 tackle zone with a 2+. And he makes a better passer of the ball too. Leap is a possible 3rd skill but would definitely take dodge next.
