On the 20th there was also a game of Rav's chaos dwarves vs RL3's new undead team. Rav won and got yet more fluky level-ups from what I heard.

I'm not free on Sunday but I'm around 29th/30th December for another friendly, if anyone else wants to play my Norse or my Nurgle.

Oops, I never did a write up did I?

I kicked and got a blitz in the first half and turned over the Undead to score on turn 7.

In the second everything was going well until I elected to pass to a bull. The throw needed a reroll so I failed the catch. The ball going loose was bad and the Undead poached excellently. I was able to stall them and force a 1-0 final scoreline but it wasn't easy.

I suffered a badly hurt early in which I apothecaried so when a got a niggle later it was a shame but at least it was an unskilled Dwarf. The Guard, Mighty Blow dwarf who then died was a bit of a tragedy. And this was with one of the mummies napping for 3/4 of the game.

I got doubles on my Minotaur so gave him block because it's the only rational double to give any big guy. Then I rolled double 6 only a bull so he's strength 5, move 7, break tackle. I really need block on this guy.

It was a good game, but a shame about the lost dwarf.

I may be available on the 29th/30th, not 100% sure yet as waiting on other family members to decide when they're visiting.

Yup dude; permission slip signed.

Percy has roused the Pacifists from a tense debate regarding the best colour for the new kit, so they'll be ready with the Pre-game sing songs (bring your own guitars, but they will provide percussion) ready for a wonderful, friendly, non-violent get together of ball wanging.

Excellent. The mummies on the Undead front line are looking forward to giving many, many wonderful fellows on your team a big hug.

Tell you what; the songs were pretty quiet 'round the campfire after the game. That bittersweet feeling of righteousness of proving that violence doesn't work, coupled with the disappointment that violence doesn't work (when you're an elf...) and neither does dodging (when your coach is Percy...).

Good job Woody Guthrie showed up to lead the sing song.

Thanks DG. Short match report:

"Peace Plan in jeopardy after Pacifists of Percy have venue trouble with the 'Plaice!!!"

The game started with the ball landing in the hands of an elf blitzer on the wing, which surprised everybody and really didn't do the Pacifists any favours. There followed a two turn exchange of affirmative handshakes (pushes), to Percy's great delight. However, one of the Plaice front line became over-enthusiastic in their hugging, and knocked out one of the pacifists. Percy's team took the ball backwards and into the centre, forming a cage: the Plaice gave the cage a group hug, and after a little more over-enthusiasm on their part (several knockouts) and some over-eagerness to join in (calamitous failed dodges) from the Pacifists the ball ended up with the Plaice, who scored in turn 7. The second half was difficult for Pacifists, as they were low on numbers (9 starters); a cage rolled up the field, before a ghoul made a break for the line. Only for a diving cuddle of joy to bring him down 3 squares short. The same happened to the next ghoul to pick the ball up. But finally a ghoul escaped the wonder of their embrace and made it 2-0.

The Pacifists were unlucky to suffer a -AG injury. The D6 were 7 against them; the block dice were very unfortunate - only 5 out of 87 dice were above a push. Both of us had several turns ending attacker down or both down. GG Daigaro.

I was only half-watching the game. 5/22 block successes is impressively bad luck. Hope you get lots of dodge on your team soon. Remember the Wanderers are not a fresh elf team, they can only do the silliness they do because of all the mad skillz they have. And doing stuff in tackle zones is still tricky.

My 10 Norsemen are looking forwards to their match tonight.
