Nice work Abom, you clearly know what to sacrifice to Nuffle!

Well, didn't see that one coming.
Well done abom, stopped what seemed like the inevitable first league cup double; and now whatever happens we're gonna have a virgin title winning coach. That's exciting.
Well done RL too.

Thank you Daigoro, id.
What happened with your Amazon team id? That was before my time. Were there more of those villainous dwarves around in such dark, distant times?
Match report is up (I edited the scoreboard post).

No, I was too timid with them I think. Not too keen on taking advantage of all the block and dodge and getting in people's faces. I basically couldn't attack with them.
And then I got bored of them.

I feel cheap cos basically both of my wins against Gandalf were granted to me by kick-off events.
That's BB for you, though.
I tried editing my team tonight and the game's not letting my manage my players. The save button isn't there.
Maybe I should try deactivating and reactivating the team to fix it? That won't drop me out of the league, will it?

Re: Rolling Thunder BBL Season 7: The Parma Violence Cup
You can't edit the team because your game against Gandalf hasn't be validated yet. I'll do it this evening if Id3 doesn't get there first.
Re: Rolling Thunder BBL Season 7: The Parma Violence Cup
Ooops, sorry. I forgot to validate the games.
Re: Rolling Thunder BBL Season 7: The Parma Violence Cup
Matches validated so you'll need to log on to see if there are any changes you need to make or skill ups to roll. I've also moved the competition on to it's final day.

Reflections on our game from last week.
Well Nuffle really did kick me in the 'nads. As well as the bug, and the sweltering heat (odds of that were around 500 to 1), I also got -12 on the D6 versus Abom's 0.8. 27% of my D6 rolls were 1's. Particular highlights in there are both my pick-up ball attempts rolling 1's, and passing a mere 3 out of 8 GFI's... 2 of the failures were consecutive 1's on a player with sure feet. I worked out my GFI luck to be about 1 in 650.... and was a key reason as to why I ran out of rerolls in short order in the second half.
What was interesting/amusing was that Nuffle wasn't relentlessly against me - he would toss me a bone every now and then. For example, sweltering heat meant I only had 7 players on the pitch, but those 7 players did include both wardancers and catchers (ie the ones who can cause real mischief) and abom was consistently unable to do more than stun my players (10 stuns 1 KO and 1 injured = terrible luck). And his bonus sweltering heat turn? He was unable to secure the ball properly and by the next turn the ball was in the hands of his rat ogre, hardly ideal... it took the Big Hand player to snatch the ball up in a tackle zone and score on turn 8. Also my block dice were better.
Don't take this to be me moaning about the dice... (I do like analysing them any time someone suffers rubbish luck) I mean, although we both agree that luck played a large part in this, Abom still had to win it - it was no gimme - and there were a few things I could've done better for sure. I would wish you well in the final, but I'm kinda torn between the two teams...

Re: Rolling Thunder BBL Season 7: The Parma Violence Cup
Will post a full match report at some point but quick recap:
13th Doomwheel opts for a rat ogre and Headsplitter rather than a wizard. Skaven receive then quickly turn the ball over on turn 1. The half grinds to 0-0.
Skaven try to shepard the amazons all game, but the 'zons do a good long pass to break out. 0-1 on turn 16 in favor of the 'zons.
The rats do some one-turn cheesery, aided by Grab, Sure Feet, and lucky dice. 1-1 and the game goes to overtime.
'zons, out of rerolls due to OT, run into bad luck, leading a Big Hands GR to snatch the ball from under them before players are really moved. Some more bad luck and it's 2-1 for the Skaven.
Lack of time leads to the 'zons being locked out of scoring. 2-1 for the 13th Doomwheel! Well played, Red Lion! A very entertaining game for both the coaches and the spectators. :]

Yep, well done Abom! You beat me to a first BB title! The rat ogres were an inspired choice.
