Yeah, all that guard/standfirm meant it was really tricky to get into the cage. i'd have had a couple more 2D blocks at the ball carrier earlier in the half if not for that.

You played well, whereas I made a couple of mistakes. good game.

Sam Becket's not coming in. I only take medical doctors, none of this poncy not proper doctoring.

I meant, any skill on a snotling (beyond what was started with) is unexpected. Especially so with this team, where the ogres do most of the ball-handling, leaving snotlings getting very few SPP outside of MVP. I made sure the 1TDD attempt was with a snotling who had previously won an MVP.

I actually rolled 5+5, but with two +MV ogres I don't see the point. +AV would be completely bonkers.

Edit: did some maths on my first half boneheads. The odds of failing 11 or more out of 32 are 1.16%.

Although over the course of the game you failed 16 which is bang on average (something I commented on at half time knowing that that's not how dice actually work :) ). There were turns in the first half where only 1 or 2 ogres moved. I, personally, liked those turns :)

Forgot to mention.

Sorry for rushing off at the end, but I had tons to do last night (I had an hour or twos work to catch up, and had to sort out for today as we had our baby nephew too), and my wife had heard the game was finished and was making eyes at me from outside the room.

Not true... I made 68 bonehead rolls = 68/6 = 11.333 bonehead failures on average

I would've had to roll zero boneheads in the second half to beat the average overall... that's how bad it was :p

Lizards vs underworld: 2-0

Short version:
I got lucky in the first half and managed to get the ball away from a blitzer who only needed 1 dodge and 1 gfi to score. Game could have been a draw if I failed. Also, the distribution players were good at dodging out of blocks, but they forgot how to dodge away from tackle zones.

Long version:
The top story of the game came after it finished, when Big Mountain, Kroxigor and commander in chief, received his 3rd consecutive MVP to go along with the 8 injuries he inflicted 6 games, which got him to level 4. Rumors of an ongoing investigation has reached my desk. He is now the proud owner of Break Tackle, Guard and Stand Firm.

1st half, the underworld received and started caging in the middle of their half. at about turn 5, they broke loose and made a run for it down the left flank, with a blitzer... I think. They managed to get completely free and needed only 1 GFI to score! In a move of desperation, I put a skink next to the blitzer and blitzed him with another skinks, for a 1 die block that turned out to be a skull. Fortunately, a reroll turned it to a defender down, and I managed to surround the ball. A turn later the speedy skinks scored a touchdown.

During the first half, there was only one goblin who got knocked out and he came back in time for the second half.

Second half the Lizards received, and started muscling their way through the pitch, injuring 4 goblins in 8 turns. After a very hard to break defense by the underworld, the skinks managed to break through and score on turn 14. The The remaining couple of turns were pretty uneventful.

A generous review - thank you Idanmel. It was always going to be a tough game for the Underworld, and you shut them out well.

Apologies to everyone else for levelling up the Kroxigor again...

I'm pretty pumped for this Sunday's game! Nuffle's gonna be kind to me this time... I can just feel it in my little, green, stepped on bones.

http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/playerliststats.php Order by meters passed.

The top 6 are all "Throwers" apart from the guy at #2 who is an Ogre! :D

The top story of the game came after it finished, when Big Mountain, Kroxigor and commander in chief, received his 3rd consecutive MVP to go along with the 8 injuries he inflicted 6 games, which got him to level 4.

Almost rivalling this guy! http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/player.php?player_id=706

Apologies to everyone else for levelling up the Kroxigor again...

At least it was a 3rd normal skill out of 3. Big Guys get a lot scarier if they roll a double. Though I am a bit jealous considering it took 30 games for Bee Tieredto reach that level.

I'm rooting for you to at least score your first TD! Don't score too many though, I want to be in the cup :)

2-0 to the Skaven in an amusing game of 0.8 + 1.2 halves.

Ogres - Undead

Moose disconnects at turn 12 with the game finely poised at 1-1. Will replay Wednesday.

Game starts with a skeleton being badly hurt by a rock and the halfling master chef doing nothing, and receiving the ball. Moose hits back with loads of 1D blocks that work(!!) I seem unable to injure anything. A scrum develops and the ball bounces loose... into the hands of Scotty (MV2 AG2 skeleton). Doh! At some point over the next few turns a ghoul got the ball down the wing, but an Ogre burst forth, knocked him over and the ball went out, landing in the Undead back field. Shrek Goes Fourth got his hands on the ball but was lightening-bolted. On the Undead turn 8 a Wight had the ball but only 4 squares from his own TD zone and marked by two ogres. He tried a pass which was intercepted by one of those ogres!!! He used break tackle and scored on turn 8.

Second half and a snotling gets hit by a rock and goes off injured (violent crowd today) and 1 reroll is stolen. The ball is deep in the ogre half but turn 9 fails early with a failed snotling dodge. Turn 10 an ogre with block has to reroll a double red skull, meaning that when it came time for me to move my ogre to pick the ball up, I could do nothing about the bonehead. A ghoul waltzes past the snotlings guarding the ball, picks it up and goes for it... success! 1-1.

Undead kick off, it's a high kick, letting my thrower catch the ball. He runs upfield and throws a pass to Shrek Goes Fourth, who catches it, and sets off down the field.... no wait, he failed his bonehead :p Over the next couple of turns though he, another ogre and assorted snotlings try to force their way down the side of the pitch against the faster undead players, the slower ones mostly involved in a quagmire in the middle of the pitch. It was exciting stuff... and then Moose disconnected :o

It was good fun, the luck ebbed & flowed in entertaining fashion and the ball was moved an awful lot. A shame it had to end and I hope the replay is at least half as good as this was.

REEEEEEEVENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably PirlOrc's most satisfying 1-1 draw ever.

The Ducks rolled a fair few double skulls; Feebles seemed to get lots of favourable 1 dice blocks, Percy was about to sulk and then Gerty got PirlOrc's revenge - Fairy Godmother is DEAD. Like, deader than dead. Gerty hit her so hard with righteous payback that she couldnt even regenerate...

(At this point I should probably point out that I wasn't really paying attention to who was hitting who, I was still miffed at a misclicked Black Orc dodge and Just hit the closest 2d block I could see... turned out ID left his star ghoul right next to Gerty...).

Ducks did their best to draw in Feebles; got them sucked in nicely then didn't get the breaks to get the ball free; Feebles ran away nicely and scored and the Ducks didnt have enough time to score; SO THEY KILLED FAIRY GODMOTHER INSTEAD. (Did Percy already tell you about that?)

2nd half Feebles booted the ball off the pitch, so Leroy got the ball and put his Claw fear on hold an began his trundle downfield. Lots of hitting happened; and the Ducks FINALLY began to clear some bodies. Feebles got unlucky this half and the ShameWolf either rolled skulls or forgot how to dodge anywhere. Leroy blitzed himself downfield then one of those wonderfully annoying FleshDongs somehow got back to mark Leroy; and reminded him that Stand Firm is one rather annoying skill. Final turn Leroy had to blitz to get free; and didn't... So we returned to last weeks tactics; pretended we were Elves (vomit) and dodged away to score and draw in turn 16. That's right folks, a Black Orc DODGED. I know I know, I feel filthy.

But I'm not sure if you noticed; but Fairy Godmother is dead.

BOW -NTIY please.

A draw was probably fair; we both got poo-ey dice at the wrong times; Good game ID :D
