This evening I ripped the IR filter out of my PS3 Eye cam and set up a little circuit with three infra-red LEDs that runs off 5v from a USB port. The camera is no good for real life now (out of focus) but picks up the three LEDs happily. Tomorrow I'm going to glue them onto a baseball cap and see how well it works with a couple of different bits of software.

I had success using OpenTrack with my phone as source. It worked perfectly with ED so it'd be a good place to start.

So, I got the hat soldered and glued together.

But I'm not a fan. It's difficult to get set up right because the hat changes shape when it's on my head - and I wasn't super accurate when gluing down the LEDs. So it's a pain to get set up with the different software (and I've tried a few). Also, the hat is too small, and my head also gets really hot with it on (in addition to my over-ear headphones). So I think I'll make a clip to go on the side of my headphones, which I will be able to measure exactly.

Yes, it was.

I've built my own clip from some wire I had lying around. Didn't have a chance to get it set up last night, and I think my LEDs need some fettling so that they don't emit such a wide point of light.

Made £2M+ in half an hour last night in LHS 3447. There's a High Res by b-2 of the arrival star that was spawning Pythons a lot.

And it all contributes towards the CG (I'm in the top 25% after last night). Anyone else taking part?

I'm envious. It remains to be seen if I can even solder one broken (by me) push connector back on in my pedals.
