Season 8 Predictions Thread

No-one got 4 out of 4 last week, so even with the Ogre-undead fixture still to be replayed, no bonus points.

Fresh off the back of the most amazing Revenge Grudging of All Time (Did I mention Gerty killed Fairy Godmother?) I'm sure everyone's excited for this weeks matches!

I'm already bored of hearing about Fairy Godmother died. Sorry.

Someone should murder that AG5 abomination.

BBDB has 6 AG5 player on record (5 elves and a vampire), and they are all still playing.

I guess the Ogres will play for a 2-1 grind and the Underworld will go for a big score and turnover plan.

What the...?! With bonehead I just score whenever I have the opportunity, you never know when things are going to go horribly Pete Tong. The Ogres have their own different playbook (and mine have another playbook again given +AG+AG+AG).

Depends on boneheads and inducement performance. This is my last fixture of the season that I would class as winnable so... a win for the Ogres. Shrek The Fourth to get lightening bolted like he has been every game this season.

One of the few games the Skaven might not win. So... draw

Percy had the best week with 4 out of 5 and is now 4 points clear of la, Rav and myself are a point further behind.

RL3 is last but could move ahead of Idanmel this week as Idanmel hasn't submitted any predictions.

Will the bombardier blow up enough mummies to stop them dodging into 5 tackle zones and picking up the ball? Probably not. Will it be as interesting a match as this week? Probably. 1-1 DRAW.

Orkly Ducklingz vs One Hit Wonderz

This is one I could see the lizards losing, what with the Ugly Donglings probably being able to match their strength, and Gertrude basically being a trained Skink Murderer. However, Percy is highly emotional having accidentally scored more than one TD last night, and I think this is going to cost him all of his focus. 3-1 LIZARDS.

MarS Spiders vs The Nermal Distribution

The Nermals aren’t really picking up skills quick enough, I believe and even for a coach experienced in their ways beginning Underworld are a trick team to play with. Whereas the Spiders have an AG5 Thrower who can actually dodge through trolls. The BOWIES are going to win 3-0.

Fables! vs The Mastercheesers

I’ve not got a good recent record against these blighters. It’s the Stand Firm donging noise that puts me off, I think. That said, I believe the coach will not yet be over a period of sustained and profound mourning. 2-1 FABLES.

The Ogres are going to mangle a lot of loners and then lose. 2-1 ELVES.

Christ this is gonna be a toughy for the Lads. The Wonderz are good enough with Idan in charge as it is, and that's before his small fortune of inducements... I'm going to optimistic to get back to form and draw 1-1.

Hard to expect the tattered remains of Fables! (there's barely a sequin left guys!) to stall the almight rush of cheese. 3-0 to the Skaven.

Well I'll give a proper review to all the matches as well as some predictions.

Punch Dummies vs A Fistful of Boomstick
The same question gets asked every week. Will this be when the Punch Dummies finally score? I'm going for yes! We believe in you Abom! This is a key match between what look like being 2 of the bottom 3 come the end of the season... I'll sit on the fence and say 1-1 but with much hilarity as usual.

Orkly Ducklingz vs One Hit Wonderz
The third & 4th most violent teams in the league. Lizardmen don't need MB - or even that much block - to injure people apparently. I think daigaro will give a masterclass on how to splatter your opponents, but won't be able to cope with those pesky skinks. Also the Orcs will go back to scoring 1 last week after they were cruelly put out of their 1-TD-a-game stride last week by Abom making the Orcs score on T16 2-1 lizards and we stay on course for the title decider, lizards vs Skaven on 20th March...

Free-scoring elves vs underleveled lower tier team (who at least finally got a couple of level ups last time). 3-0.

Fables! vs Yet Another Cheese Based Team
Is there a more impressive former players table out there than Fables!? The new cohort battle on in memory of their twice-dead colleagues. Unfortunately their only players with Tackle are fairly slow. So a Skaven win then in line with their average TD for/against this season, so scoring 3 or 4 and conceding zero or 1.

Expected bonehead failure rate is 16.6%. Last 3 matches have been between 20.9% and 24%... that has to change if I am to have a chance of not losing. That and actually getting a numerical advantage, which hasn't really happened all season. At least my team bloat has gone down a bit with the long-overdue death of Pinocchio. Intrigued to see what notj will spend his inducements on - quantity or quality?!
Oh, and Elf win, 2-1 or 3-1. The Ogres are a team transformed this year on offence, if they keep this up their lifetime average TD per game will pass 1 by the end of the season! Oh the dizzy heights.

Sadly with the death of BBM we've lost the full record. I think I lost a Werewolf a friendly when they first started out, so that list is missing at least three players.

Your "killed" total is 7 so there are 2 more missing. Plus however many are retired (I don't think BBM reported on those?).

I could check but I'm pretty sure your list has more XP on it than anyone else's. Only 3 teams have suffered more deaths than yours, but as Fables! have played more games than anyone else that's not too surprising.

You should have checked. The Everglade Wanderers currently have 495 SPP in their squad, 570 SPP with their retired players. The Fables have a grand total of 417 SPP, and that includes their nine dead or retired players.

Maybe when the Fables get up to the lofty heights of 495 SPP on their squad we should have a mega-match!
