notjarvis wins with a well earned 2-1.

Thanks for the game and well played!

I was a bit lucky at crucial moments.
Quick overview

The Necros decide to receive, and try to set about the Dark Elves (but in a pattern setting Move they cause no damage)
The dark Elves hit back, managing to injure a couple of players, but both of them regenerate annoyingly.
The Necros try and cage up and move down the field, but the Dark Elves manage to crack in and get three tackle zones on the ball carrier,
The ball carrier tries to dodge away, but trips over. The Elves then get the ball and move it quickly downfield to score a defensive touchdown around turn 5
1-0 to the Delves
ID gets the ball and pushes players into the Dark Elves half hoping for a two turn TouchDown.
The Dark Elves mark these players lightly then see an opportunity to dodge around to get tackle zones on the ball carrier and hit him.
unfortunately the AG4 player with dodge can't dodge out of one measly tackle zone (1/36 chance of failure? bah) and the Delves turnover with only light defence around.
All the Necro's have to do is clear the defender from the player in the Delves half, do a 1GFI handoff and they will score (with a TRR to use)
Unfortunately it fails, the Re-roll gets used for the GFI and the handoff goes to ground, leaving the Delves up at half time.
Half Time score - 1-0 to the Delves
Delves receive and attempt to move down the field, exploring avenues for scoring and the like (at one point the consider a run and pass to score, but the blocks don't go their way to open it up,)
The Necro's do a good job at holding up avenues for advancement, but luckily for the Delves, few Elf players are being removed from play sop they have options
Eventually, the Dark Elves spot a gap where they only need one dodge to move the ball down field. Lucky for them the chance comes off, and they run in to score the second and effectively win the game.
2-0 to the Dark Elves.
Theres enough time left for the Necros to score a rather efficient and well worked Consolation score, and to Badly hurt both Witch elfs (his first non-ko/stunned of the game) but it's too late to make a difference to the result

Final score 2-1 to the Dark Elves.

Was a Good close game Id, and with a bit of luck at certain points it could easily have been at the very least a draw at the end of normal time.

Urg.

Well. Able Seaman Babybel died twice, had his neck broken once and got KO'd once in his 4 debut matches, two of which lasted past turn 2, but in the end we gave up on Moose's internet after it gave up many times on us. Moose was kind enough to concede the 2-0 admin win.

It's a disappointing way to win and frustrating for Moose. His mumble breaks every time BB drops, too...

Game 1 I think started with me getting a blitz and nearly scoring; game 2 started with us getting the ref; game 3 started with a reroll each, and featured 2 deaths in about 3 turns and me stealing the ball and getting 2 squares from a TD and a skeleton getting sent off for some turn 2 respect; game 4 featured no deaths and was nicely balanced until it dropped in turn 5, but Moose had used his wizard to stop me sacking his ball carrier and the only casualties were a KO each, I think, so it was looking favourable to me.

As promised, the glittering digital wooden spoon trophy, for the last place position. There was a lot of fun at times at the bottom of the league, and only +1 Gf separated the Goblinesque teams in the end. That said, I hope we'll both get more points next time around!!

I'd like to thank all the little people for getting my gobbos to where and who they are today. That is to say the little stunties, whom I fed to both Pudge and Skeleton King. Thank you for your sacrifices, this is truly a day where we are honored.

2-1 to the Bad Elfs - a deserved win for NJ, certianly a deserved loss for me with a couple of bad decisions and a stupid misclick, although miraculously we were within 3 2+ rolls with a TRR left of equalising in turn 16 after the elfs received...

I'm looking pretty good for a 7/7 prediction for the cup :)

The luck was with me and la made an error or two which let me in.
It all seemed to go badly for the dark elves at the start as they lost one player Kod and one badly hurt in the first turn, the Rats receive and comfortably move the ball around safely.
The Skaven easily broke through the Dark Elf lines and ran down to the Bad Elf line.
la decided to stall and the Dark elves decided to innefectually try to take some rats off the field, knowing the Rats were about to score.
la was still stalling 3 turns later, so more to force him to score than have any realistic hope of getting the ball a witch elf wanders down the field in an attempt to put some light pressure.
la tries to knock down the witch elf, but fails, and descides his cage is good enough to wait a little longer.
His confidence is misplaced as the witch elf manages to break the ball free! the Dark Elves grab the now free ball and pass and run it downfield, almost out of reach
The Rats can't get enough strength across to stop it and the Dark Elves score to end the first half. Something that looked incredibly unlikely 2-3 turns before!
1-0 to the Dark Elves at half time!
The second half starts with a riot which lets the clock run on for a couple of turns.
The Dark Elves then Receive, and rather efficiently move the ball downfield to score in 3-4 turns.
2-0 to the dark Elves.
The Rats Receive, and rather efficiently with a good long pass score in three turns!
2-1 but theres only one turn left
It's turn sixteen. The Dark Elves receive thinking the game is won, and hit a few rats, pass the ball around for SPPs
But they've forgot the Rats have one more turn, and they have a chance to force Extra time! They strip the ball from the player holding it, and attempt to score using the absurd MA10 rat. he needs to pick the ball up (with big hand), dodge out of the tackle zone and make 2 GFIs!
He basically needs 3 2+s with a TRR and one 2+dodge with the dodge skill. Unfortunately this fails at the first hurdle and the game ends.

GG la.
looks from the dice stats that the dice were with me, but it was a damn close game regardless.

Ah, stalling with the less-strong team is a dangerous game, I nearly lost in the QF against the orcs last year because of it going wrong. Sounds like two fun semi finals tonight.

In friendly action, my Nurgle team beat Abom's goblin team 2-0. Abom tried to throw bombs and team-mates at me but it was hard with the Disturbing Presence of the opposition. It was very nearly 1-0 at half time, it took some slightly silly passing for me to score on turn 8 following an excellent defensive effort by Abom (dodge/GFI's everywhere, it was great fun).... and at the start of the second half there was a pitch invasion which rather scuppered any chance Abom had. Still, I think both teams had fun and no-one got really hurt. I inflicted 7 KO's and only 2 casualties.
