But Percy said he needs his head looking at, so I was going to make it easier to do that...

Phwoar.

Red Lion's Dead Fish almost get a pitch clearance IN THE FIRST HALF against Percy's Entheogens; but kept the fans entertained even more by failing a GFI to take the lead in turn 8.
The signs were there in Turn 1 for the Enth's when an attempt at surfing a Mummy from the LoS ended on the first dice roll. Then the Enths casualtied themselves off the pitch to save the SeaDead getting their flippers dirty.
2nd half the Enths did what they could with a whopping 6 players; San Pedro Cactus sacrificed himself to take out the ball carrying ghoul; but a skele got the bouncing ball wedged in his gills and shambled over to score in turn 16.
The Enths got ready to make the crowd vomit with some intense 2 turn scoring elf ball, but Red Lion's lot were having none of it and wouldn't let the Enths anywhere near the endzone.

DO's luck in the first half was horrible; the second half was a bit better. Only one score in the game though: Zombies. With. The. Ball. Shamble. So. Slowly.
Thanks for the game!

Re: Pre-season 9 thread
Has there been a decision reached as to when the next season will start? If it isn't this weekend, I'd be up for another friendly (id maybe?).
Turns out the lads have actually played four games already. They played three times in December! But only once recently. (Is that too many friendlies for anyone's taste? I don't want to tread on toes by playing any more if so.)

Re: Pre-season 9 thread
I think 5 has been raised as a rough guide, but really, as long as they are fought in the a fair but vicious manner with plenty of respect for the current and future opponent as well as the Beautiful Game, I don't think anyone's going to particularly mind.
Re: Pre-season 9 thread
I won't be taking part in S9
Far too busy in general.
Suspect I'll be doing additional work at weekends to keep afloat.

Seconded.
I think the plan is to start this weekend. We just need to get everyone's teams confirmed by Friday, then I can run the script and let everyone know who they'll be playing against.
There is still plenty of time for bribes for a favorable season start.

Ok notjarvis. I hope everything sorts its self out.
Re: Pre-season 9 thread
So next season is looking like this... ("new" means it's their first competition, not that they have played 0 matches)
La = Skaven
Gandalf = Nurgle
Daigaro = Khorne (new)
id = Underworld (new)
Abom = Goblins
Red Lion 3 = undead (new)
Raveen = Norse (new)
Idanmel = ?
Moose = ? not playing?

Re: Pre-season 9 thread
I still don't know
(edit: high TV skaven seems a bit unfair given all the new teams)
I want to play all of the teams. Well, all of the 5.
PS yes NJ you will be (temporarily I hope) missed

Re: Pre-season 9 thread
Bummer NJ, hopefully see thee next season.
I can't play this weekend, will be driving back from Scotland, so if we do start this weekend I'll have to reschedule with whoever I draw.
Khorne are definately happeneing for me next season, they are stupid.
And friendlies - I don't care how many each team gets - we don't have rules/limits on TV for leagues so limiting new teams to a few games would add even more hinderance to a coaches enjoyment IMO.
Unless someone picks elves, then they aren't allowed any friendlies.
Red Lion engaged in a very wholesome attitude for our friendly last night - he spent all his inducements on bribes!!!

As mentioned earlier, if la switches from Skaven to a newer team then I'll probably be switching to my Norse team (who have played 5 friendlies), so we'll have a whole league of sub-1300 teams. OTOH if Idanmel plays with his Lizardmen again, and la keeps skaven, then I'll stick with Nurgle.
I'll bug Idanmel on Steam tonight if I see him.

Re: Pre-season 9 thread
I believe Idanmel unfortuantely won the league.
I am, however, probably going to play MAGNIFICENT VAMPIRES (disclaimer: accurate only right this minute)
