So elf vs lizard write up:

I chose to receive and got a classic elf two turner home even though the weather came up with a blizzard, forcing me to play a shorter passing game.

Idan received and caged up on my left. Unlike our league game I have the tools to pressure a lizard cage although my leaping Catcher managed to get himself surfed. My blitzers were threat enough for Idan to score in turn 6 with a skink run of most the length of the pitch.

That left me two turns and the weather brightened up making the passing game a bit better. The ball landed short so I picked up and passed it back to a quarterback thrower. Meanwhile the rest of the team surged forward to offer multiple targets. The lizards got markers to all the receivers but I was still able to make the pass and dodge through for the touchdown. 2-1 at half time.

I kick again at the opening of the second half and the ball lands short on my right. Idan makes some blocks and moves to protect the ball but a failed pickup leaves him vulnerable. The Elves dive in and run through for a turnover touchdown.

We must have got another one but I honestly can't remember how.

It was a good game and mostly settled by the Elves not leaving the pitch injured until late in the game. Nice bit of revenge and the Elves make the final.

Phwoar, I'll get in quick before I vomit...

But well done Rav, 5-4 was it? For those that way inclined (oo err missus) it must've been a 'classic' eh?

At least an elf died. Poor Ziggy.

Actually, Bowie won didn't he? I guess that makes me happy.

Well done Rav.

Rav. Played better with poor dice, and i never at any point felt like I was going to win (felt like I was hanging on his teams coat tails throughout, and just about scraping level).

Well done rav. Congrats.

I've uploaded the log files for the cup final now, so you can see the dice stats. There was an issue with the file Rav originally uploaded.

Those pro-elves were pretty terrible at dodging...

BTW I enjoyed the match! I'm sorry if I spoke too much.

edit: notjarvis made 84 blocks and Raveen had to make 57 armour rolls!!! I know there were 24 turns each but still, those are crazy numbers. As notj said in the match, it may have been different had he injured more elves... 2 was definitely sub-par, with those number of rolls I think 4 or 5 would've been typical.

Cup final was great. Here's a brief report from what I can recall since neither of the participants have put one up. Details may be inaccurate but something is better than nowt.

Elves receive. Score in 2 turns. Dark Elves receive. Score in 2 turns. Elves receive. Score in 2 turns.

Dark Elves receive and go really aggressive. However the elves manage to surf the ball carrier and the ball lands well for them. Unfortunately coach Raveen forgets that cyanide has stupid pathing logic and accidentally picks the ball up with someone who marks 2 dark elves. He tries a pass out to rectify the error, which fails. The dark elves retrieve the ball, and score by turn 8. 2-2 half time.

Second half... bit confused now I may have the sequence of the first half wrong, but anyway the elves got to 3-2 up. The Dark Elves receive. Rav had a couple of KO'ed guys who continue to have a lie down. Notjarvis keeps the ball safe and mercilessly beats up elves wherever possible. He achieves a glut of KO's but only 2 elves got injured - 1 died and another got a niggle/stat decrease. He safely walks over the line on turn 16 and it's into overtime with a 3-3 scoreline!

The elves are receiving but only have 7-ish players due to KO issues. However they decide to and manage to score quickly, and at last the KO gods smile on him and he's got a more decent number of players. Can notj score again before turn 20? Why yes, yes he can, 4-4 and the game is extended to turn 24.

The elves get another player or two back and try to score as quickly as possible as they are not confident in stalling. A pass goes deep but it isn't caught, or the guy who caught it failed a dodge or something! High drama. The dark elves manage to retrieve it... but they try a pass which is intercepted by an elf, who promptly walks over the line in turn 23 or 24 to make it 5-4 at full time. GG!

Thanks for that.

Haven't had a chance this week. Week from hell at work, Had all day meetings with a bunch of German and French bosses Monday-through Wednesday, completely forgotten what happened by the end of that
