Nurgle 1 Amazon 1.

First 15 turns. Stuff happens.

Turn 16, I have one space to move to score, but instead I hit people. Because, y'know, I have block and they are 2 dice blocks, so it's a 1 in 1,296 chance to result in a turnover (quadruple skull) since I have a reroll and I'm annoyed my team have inflicted a total of 1 injury all game. First block results in a KO. Second block results in a quadruple skull.

I'm claiming that as the winner of the "Nuffle hates me" moment of the season award, if not the entire of RTBBL...

Ooof, bit early to be calling that one isn't it? Daigaro hasn't even played yet...

There may be matches with worse luck, but as for single moments, and taking into account the implications of things going wrong... it's gotta be hard to top.

At least la's mistyping has brought some jollity to this evening's proceedings :)

Crikey.

Aristotle thought it was all over just before halftime, when he realised he'd recruited Socrates before the match... THERE WERE TWO BLOODY SOCRATESES ON THE PITCH. The eejit Pythagoras had spelt "Plato" wrong when he put out the Player Wanted ad. It was a crushing blow to morale, not the kind of mistake a Pillar of Western Civilisation should make, and probably the subconscious niggling at the back of his mind explained why he hadn't been able to do anything right all game.

But! Then he found the solution!

Make sure the imposter scored no touchdowns, got not injuries, and stood next to Ramtut the Bloody Three as much as possible. And then sack the bastard. Possibly eat him.

Aristotle's mind now at rest, he waltzed about the pitch like a true founder of Western Thought, and stopped rolling double ones, and only failed one more blood lust. All was well with the world.

There can only be one Socrates.

2-1 to the Cheeseosophers. Both despite and thanks to Ramtut the Fecking 3.

Thanks for the game La!

So, the first half everything went lion-style, with Vampires sprawling all over the sward. Early game confusion was that Ramtut had AG 4. Which was reinforced by the hand-off to him far up the pitch working (needed 6, got 6, didn't see this is in the feed...) and him scoring in turn 8. So tred it again behind my own lines in the second half. The Vampires won.

With quadruple skulls, getting AG1 and AG4 confused, and "mis-typing" Plato I would like to call the inaugural meeting of the Calamity Club with a gathering of 3 of today's... err yesterday's... (wow this snooker is going on a bit) coaches. Sorry Idanmel, you're not invited.

And to settle a query that was raised, Pete de Freitas was indeed originally a member of id3nti1ty's Khorne side before going on to join the mighty It's A Sign. My recruited Rotters from other races tend to do better than the ones who join as fresh recruits (hello Trudy Lies!) so you should feel proud of him.

As the adrenaline of the game subsided, RL looked around at his deflated players - Charlie Bronwtrout, Arnold Rimmermaid, Carlton Sandbanks... and recalled the team motto, "That wasn't supposed to happen!"

The team of also-rans, mis-fits and unlucky losers had been ahead, by luck, against the Greats - Socrates, Plato, Archimedes,... . The incompetent calamity that befell them was so, so fitting.

And he slept well.

And in the morning he read Gandalf's post about the Calamity Club. And realised he already owned it. But how far would the contagion to the other teams spread?

Only quadruple red skulls? Resulting in a mere drawer? This was only the season opener. Surely the best was yet to come?

Abom, when's a good day for us to catch up our game? I probably can't do tonight or Thursday, or any day my wife decides to give birth, but other than that I'm pretty free (at the moment).

Two best unintentional jokes of last night.

Gandalf : "Did you know that beth is a Welsh word?"
id3nt1ty : "beth is a welsh word meaning what?"
Gandalf: "Correct"
--------
Gandalf: "When studying further maths our class sometimes went off on random tangents"
(RL3 pointed out the unintentional joke)

Yes it means what. "Correct" was affirming that your previous statement was a true statement.

There's my only two options sunshine.
