Ask the relatives to leave and play whilst holding Violet, it'll help her sleep.

Re: RT BBL Season 9
Idan - sorry, but I am feeling really quite ill today and don't know if I'll be up to playing tonight.
Would it be better for you to cancel now and reschedule, or do you want to wait till this evening and see if I make it online?
Thanks,
la

Perhaps RL could play Idan? If not, I'll be on in a minute, if I don't collapse and die on my way to the computer from the bed.

Okay, no worries :-)

Nurgle win turdball 1-0
http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/matchdetai ... tch_id=219
Daigaro hires a bloodthirster, and an apothecary.
Both teams hit each other lots (quelle surprise). First half Nurgle receive, have more strength and just about prevail and score, though it was a close run thing. Second half Khorne pick the ball up, then Gandalf has a good turn in terms of knocking people around. The ball goes loose and eventually falls into the hands of the Beast Of Nurgle (!) who sits on the ball for the rest of the half. Also Daigaro managed a -7 roll to catch a bouncing ball (2 - 4TZ - 5 Disturbing Presence) which was amusing.
Daigaro kept failing Foul appearance, and the Nurgle completely failed to injure anyone despite 72 block rolls, which made both coaches irritable and unamenable to hearing the other's complaints. I'm sorry for darkening the mood Dai. Dai also had technical issues missing a turn in the second half, which eventually got fixed.
Fairly standard Nurgle fare. Sorry that the stodgy play isn't the most entertaining to play/watch, that's just the way they are :p

Re: RT BBL Season 9
2-0 to the Vampires in a pretty close match despite the miss-match in skills (apart from Dodge and Block, which the Amazons had a great deal of)
http://gandalfgames.net/bbdb/matchdetai ... tch_id=220
The Vampires managed to get a Turn 8 turnover touchdown and then were equally lucky to escape from a horde of Amazons in the second half to score a second and use up Idan's wizard. That was pretty much that as the slow Amazons were very unlikely to score 2 in 4 or 5 turns - and they failed the consolation touchdown on a handoff.
Zara was rubbish, until she wasn't, when she was sort of average. Unlike Archimedes and Aristotle, who were pretty awesome after Aristotle got over his customary double 1.

2-2 In the Goblin vs Norse game.
Luck was up and down for both of us in this game, some turns Abom could dodge every goblin everywhere he wanted, others he'd fail and lose a gobbo badly hurt. Abom played well going 1-0 in the first half and stalling long enough to make it hard for me to score back before half time.
I scored in 3 turns to even things up and get rid of the secret weapons.
Abom set up for a 1TTD but I kicked short and made that impossible. The Goblins still managed to get the ball to a throwable goblin in two turns and made the throw. My team was out of position and Abom managed to stall an extra turn before scoring (1 RR 1 on a GFI!)
I was in dire straits so I went for it. The ball landed on the edge of the pitch so I wanted to pick up on the first turn and then run pass and handoff in the next one. Unfortunately I decided to do a 3D block with Percy before the pickup and got triple skulls. Luckily I managed to pick up, pass, catch, run, handoff, run and score. Definitely a spike of luck going my way.
One last time the Goblins set up for a 1TTD but we got a riot sending the clock back a turn. Abom got the ball near to the target but I was able to charge in with Percy and then swamp both the trolls making the TTM attempt extremely hard. The ball changed hands in 5 TZs + Disturbing Presence but the Troll rolled a -7 for the pass, fumbling the ball and ending the game.
Lots of fun and well done to Abom for stretching my team out of shape. I need another runner

Re: RT BBL Season 9
Punch Dummies vs Norse:
Norse take a budweiser babe with their inducements. Yes, these gobbos are fat and bloated bigger than Percy's mother on a good day.
Goblins receive in first half, leaving the bombardier off the pitch but the chainsaw and ball + chain on it. Some blocks and whatnot are thrown.
Eventually goblins break free somehow. I'm forgetting how, likely a thrown goblin or some unlucky dice on Raveen's part, They delay for as long as they can and until the chainsaw and fanatic are out of commission, as they have no bribes anyway. 1-0 for the goblins!

A promptly delivered beer leads to the Norse quickly having a massive numbers advantage.
For the second half, the Norse drink some beer and they all rise from their mild concussions. Pudge the Troll has a rock thrown at him and sits out the majority of the rest of the game.
Norse then injure like 5-6 goblins and send them over to an unconscious Pudge on the sidelines, hoping he'll eat his friends. Raveen adds insult to injury and fouls my Bombardier just to spite the Dummies. The Norse score quickly, smelling blood... clearly deciding not to go for a draw but to go for the win. 1-1 tie game!
Not content with a draw either, and feeling the upcoming deathgrindy blocks of death coming up, the goblins position themselves face down, ass up for Skeleton King to throw them. Unfortunately, the ball is kicked to an unideal position, so they cage up with goblins only and clear a path to Skeleton King, clogging up the lane with goblins.
Raveen doesn't bother marking the troll, content with Percy's Disturbing Presence being enough to make the hand-off and throw fail. Thankfully, on the Cyanide client, Diving Catch also gives a +1 to hand-offs, so this cancels out Disturbing Presence (at least for the hand-off roll) and makes a Throw Goblin play a very real possibility. The gobbos go for it... ball hands off... troll is really stupid... looks towards Pudge for inspiration... Pudge drools over himself but it is mistaken for an inspiring wink... Skeleton King rerolls... and the goblin is thrown!
Gobbos try to delay but are forced to score. 2-1 for the goblins!

Having trained most of their lives to be used as ammunition for catapults, the Punch Dummies' goblins are just "just happy to be here," one reporter quotes.
Norse get the ball on turn 15. Raveen sets up the Norse to go for a turn 16 score... A very easy task, given that the gobbos could not secure the sides of the pitch due to a lack of players and the variety of Frenzy players on the pitch. But the Norse are cursed with a 50% chance of failing GFIs so the dice fail him, using the reroll for a GFI. Then Percy rolls a triple skull, too thirsty for blood for his own damn good. Indeed, the game seems almost handed over to the goblins! The ball is not even in his carrier's hands and is in range of a gobbo!
However.........Gobbos foolishly decide to start marking every man and trip over themselves when they shoulda just gone for the ball pickup. Game's back in the hands of fate.
Raveen then goes for a pickup... A throw... Perfect launch........... A catch! A handoff! And they score! 2-2, tie game
Last turn of the game, gobbos up again, clock runs. They're forced to use a reroll on the pickup, so they decide to go for the Throw Goblin next turn.... but a veritable ocean of smelly beer-ridden pissy Norse surround the goblin trolls. (-7 to throw Team-mate, as Percy is there as well) The throw Goblin fails and the game ends 2-2.
Fun game! Gobbos had better luck with plays related to the ball, whereas the Norse had better luck with injuries. Pudge didn't eat any goblins, so the Dummies are counting this as a win in their book.

Both the goblins and the Norse received a +Movement roll with their levelups at game's end. Legion Commander hopes to one day roll a 13 and grow wings so as not to need Pudge any longer to score (if he doesn't get eaten before that day comes)

Ooooh Rav, you just got out-match reported! Though there's no shame in losing that to Abom, goblin coach or not.

Re: RT BBL Season 9
id, would you like to catch the game up this week? No worries if you're too busy.
Re: RT BBL Season 9
Yes Red Lion, that would be good. The only nights that aren't good for me are tonight and Saturday. When is good for you?
Raveen, we could try and catch up this week too if you are free.

We have a potential poorly situation here so I'll see how we go. Papa Nurgle is a regular visitor these days.
