Re: RT BBL Season 9
Ah id3 I wouldn't say I was nuffle bummed, was just on the receiving end of your nuffle love; which happened right at the start and made it very hard to be able to do... anything really.
A few more fortunate dice rolls for me (passing that last dodge to score first half, you not getting a defender down, the ball scattering the other way on your score, etc) and I reckon I'd have clawed back a draw.
La has taught you well with those blasted blitzers though, they are impeccable players.

@Gandalf: Regarding the almost scoring in the 2nd half, it was on the same turn the gobbo picked up the ball in front of the rotter. He moved slightly out of the way, then got 2 gobbos to cover the side facing the rotter(s). A last gobbo was on the way to form a 4 person loose cage, meaning the only way he could be attacked before the next turn was if the rotter did 2-3 dodges, or at a minimum 2 GFIs (depends on positioning). I might just be misremembering, but had he not stumbled, the gobbos' were then pretty much only 2 stunty dodges away from the score! Instead, he fell, leaving the cage open to a Pestigor blitz and a downhill bashfest.
Looking back, maybe I shouldn't have chanced the cage at all and just thrown the ball to an out of the way, irrelevant part of the pitch. Although I think pretty much everywhere was sort of in range of player action at the time. Throwing to ball to empty squares is something I've def gotta incorporate into my game at some point; I think I've only ever done it once.
Anyway, def a close game
See you in the cup, mayhaps!

Yeah Abom we are talking about the same thing, one of us is mis-remembering. It's not important.
I've thrown into space once, it was when I was winning by one late in the game, by throwing it away across the width of the pitch it meant the (slow) opposition couldn't collect the ball and score before time ran out.
It's a pretty rare tactic but has its place.

Idanmel, when do you want to catch the game up? I can't do Wednesday, but could do any other day.

Hi RL3, sorry for not responding earlier, I wasn't home for about 2 days.
Would Thursday be ok?

No trouble. Thursday would be fine. What time would you like? I should be free all evening, so pick whenever's convenient.

As discussed in the Early season 10 thread
I know Raveen won't be able to make it if we start this Sunday. What do the rest of you think? Start this Sunday or postpone a week?
I may not be around on Sunday.

The Cup has been created:
RTBBL Season 9: Something Something Cup
Hmmm sorry, that passed me by. I'll go sign up.
As for "when do we start the cup" the facts as far as I'm aware are...
- Raveen can't make it this Sunday or the following week
- I'm not great for Sunday availability over the coming weeks (but can do this Sunday)
- la probably can't do next Sunday, and definitely can't do the Sunday after (maybe he is away inbetween too)
- there is only 1 friendly proposed for this weekend
- id3 might not be available this Sunday
So, if we wait until we are all free then we won't start the cup for 2-3 weeks. Looks like there's 2-3 unavailable this Sunday, 2 next week and 2 the week after (that we know of.... people often say the week before the match that they can't make it). Plus, Sundays aren't ideal for Idanmel at the moment. Ergo, I'm not sure why next week is a better time to start than this week, and we're going to have to fit fixtures inbetween other absences anyway, so why not just get started now? Maybe we schedule the cup to last 4 weeks instead of 3 on account of people doing other stuff?

Wow Gandalf, without you nothing would ever get done.
Re: RT BBL Season 9
Alternatively we could postpone for 4 weeks and give everyone a break to arrange friendlies if they wish.

I have no problem with this. Means we wait longer for season 10 (possible downside? I'm ambivalent) but on the plus side gives more time to rope others into joining us for season 10.
