So Gandalf isn't available for the next two Sunday's. La, you aren't available the two Sunday's after next?

How does everyone else feel about playing the cup? Still skipping the next two weeks? The problem with a cup is that we can only play one level of games at a time, so if someone isn't available we have to wait for them to play their game before progressing to the next day.

I think for the Cup to work we have to cut 3 teams, leaving only a week of semi-finals and a finals week to be played.

The cup would work with 7 teams if whoever was due to play Dai is given a bye. I don't know whether this can work in the Cyanide client, but the cup is small enough that couldn't we easily keep track of the results ourselves to work out who plays who (i.e. play games in the RTBBL Open league), and let BBDB do whatever stats are needed?

What is the degree of interest in the football (soccer)? I like it, but I tend towards playing BB instead. If Gandalf is the only person who prefers footy to BBDB, then I'd suggest the cup get started this weekend or the one after - I think Gandalf is seeded to marmalise me in the first round, and hopefully he'd be willing to rearrange this to midweek (would this be possible G?).

I think la is going to be unavailable two, and with G and la missing (and placed to do quite well) it might not happen very quickly anyway.

I'm sure I could get Daigaro to sign up and then who ever plays him an admin win.

Just to post I'm still here, about 10 days ago I decided I needed a break from the forums, seemed I missed quite a bit while I was gone Don't let me influence whatever is/isn't happening in the cup. It's no problem for me to do midweeks if wanted/needed.

Ok, so I spoke to la in RL (not RL3 - something I always have to make sure of these days) and whilst he won't be available on Sundays in the future he'll be happy to make up games during the week. Except where he can't.

So without further ado, the seedings for the 'RTBBL Season 9: Something Something Cup' are as follows:

It was looking increasingly tricky for me to fit a game in this week so I'd be more than happy to have a bye.

As a point of interest, I have seen a competition somewhere where there were 6 teams, and in week 2 the #1 seed played the lower-ranked of the winners from week 1, which would make the theoretical draw for RL3 harder again. Honestly though I don't care, and id3's proposal is simpler so I say stick with it.

However we do have the old question of what do we do if it's a draw? We could start a new game and simulate extra time (ie if someone is winning after 4 turns each, then stop, and try & make sure your lineup reflects who you had uninjured in the original game).
