Pokemon Go

Postby Raveen » Mon Jul 18, 2016 4:13 pm

Is anyone else having fun with PG?

I find it's a good one to play in the park with the nipper to encourage him to run around a bit (left to his own devices he'd sit around inside and play games all day, like father like son :) ). I've caught and evolved a good few Pokemon so far but I've completely failed at gym fights. Does anyone know how they work and what tactics I should be using?

I'm cheerfully avoiding this craze, it would probably suck me in otherwise. However I have seen more youths than normal wandering around staring at their phone without looking where they are going. :)

We had fun at the park last Saturday. Lots of people about all sharing the experience. I really enjoyed it for what it was.

I've got a disadvantage in that where I live is freaking devoid of anything and everything. Where i work is both a gym and a pokestop, but it's hard to get anything as the stop isn't accessible from our break room...

How Pokemon Go Pushed Me Closer Towards the Soulless Abyss

I'm very much so from the Pokemon era, grew up with it, had some 1st edition cards and toys. I was all about it for a year or 2, but got a bit tired of it about the time Generation 2 hit, especially given the growing amount of pokemon. What I didn't realize at the time is that I was experiencing power creep and oversaturation.

Pokemon Go's got a bunch of my friends all about it and all the neighborhood running about. The "game" itself, if can even be called one, looks pretty meh. I'm stuck on the sidelines quietly trying to not hate on it and keeping my opinions to myself as the last shard-echo of little kid me keeps tugging on my mindstrings to go catch some pokemon. All the while, I wonder if my heart has grown cold and lifeless and my soul extracted by the god-machine.

I ran out of pokeballs. This is annoying, as I need to find a place I can farm them super easy. Nothing near me, not much near work... ugh.
