I hope things change for the better, Rav! At the very least, the no-sleep crying phase should be over in a couple of years, unless you pop out some more.

I'd love a game tomorrow but unfortunately I'll be watching USA-Serbia basketball instead.

I have some thoughts about the 2 scenarios listed but I will post on it when I have some more time.

If no-one else is interested - G would you like another go at the dwarfs with one of your other teams?

Honestly - I'd prefer a bit of a break tonight - but could play midweek if you want?

I'll be watching USA-Serbia basketball instead.

Isn't anything involving the USA and basketball a foregone conclusion? :p

RL3 - Wednesday or Thursday look best for me.

Gandalf's Norse vs RL3's Dwarves

Game was 12 a side - Gandalf with his runner & ulfwerner back meaning RL3 had 350k of inducements, so he got a deathroller and a wizard.

The game kicked off with a rock stunning the Deathroller and Gandalf's first action of the game resulting the Snow Troll injuring a dwarf! (and getting to 6SPP) We both thought, "here we go again" but thankfully the luck was more even after this horrific start - indeed the dwarves actually inflicted more injuries than the received, which is remarkable given recent games between us.

I received and managed to punch a gap just to the left of centre. I got fireballed but the dwarves were unable/unwilling to pick the ball up... but the deathroller did injure a poor norseman. Anyhow I recovered the ball and scored in turn 4, I didn't want to stall as I wanted the deathroller off the pitch...

This left RL3 4 turns to score. The ball was collected well but there was a bit of a quagmire in the middle. But suddenly a dwarf was "running" free - with 3 GFI's on the last 2 turns he could score! However some dice went my way and I managed a 2D block to knock him over - 1-0 Norse at half time.

Second half RL3 received and let a weak front line in the face of the Snow Troll. I took advantage of this, and poured people through to harass the ball carrier & stop other dwarves from getting there. Before long I had the ball and scored, so 2-0 Norse, though at least another Norse got injured. RL3 received again but with a stronger front line this time (good use of Guard) and managed to knock over both Norsemen & the Snow Troll who were on my LoS. However forward progress was slow and they were unable to score in the remaining turns, though there was a late flurry of injuries. 7 were suffered throughout the game... 6 badly hurt and a -AV apothed into a miss next match. So very friendly injuries really. :)

Post game RL3 finally had enough money for a 12th dwarf! My Snow Troll levelled up (guard) and my 2nd berzerker did too (he rolled a double... I'm thinking dodge?)

Special note to the abysmal passing skills of both teams. We rolled 11 catch rolls, of which 10 were 1's or 2's, the 11th was a 4 which was part of the solitary successful pass of the game. Also between us we managed 114 block attempts. Ouch.

I might have been tempted to take a bribe for the deathroller instead on the Wizard. With a Babe to make up the money.

As good as a wizard is, two drives with a deathroller (or fouling with the deathroller :) ) is worth 100k if you can save it for when you receive twice.

Poor deathroller... hit by a stone from the crowd, when he got up there were no players standing next to him... he still managed to cause an injury though!

It's so rare for you not to take a wizard. I might have to put this quote in my sig for posterity :)

Are you ready to join us again on Sundays Rav?

Not with the kids as they are just now. Well, the boy...

Particularly as I need to play another PodBowl match next week and 2 evenings a week of abandoning the family is too many when they're so bad.

Well, it's good to hear from you anyway Raveen.

Anyone up for a non-Dwarf-based game this Sunday?

I'm pretty busy with RL stuff this weekend (mostly partying for once, living up my fake Miami lifestyle!)

If I'm free Sunday I'll hit you guys up early my time!
