So that's three so far. Anyone else? If not, I'll sit out - definitely my turn to!

Gandalf and I played a rather one-sided yet strangely exciting game wherein all the goblins had their shoelaces tied to one another and their feet weighed down by chains. :D It was the premiere of Grab on the Ball and Chain Fanatic as well, which had mixed yet always awesome results.

It finished 3-0 to my Nurgle team. A pass (AG5 rotter!) & run in the first half, the second largely down to the pogoer who was carrying the ball falling off & injuring himself in the backfield, and the third was rather fortuitous on T16. Watching goblins do/trying to do crazy stuff was more entertaining than the actual scoring though (which to be fair is normally true).

I haven't uploaded it yet, but Abom's GFI luck (especially in the first 10 or so turns) was pretty awful. He was attempting a lot of them though in true goblin style.

His injured box was rather full at the end... but I was only responsible for 1 of them ;D For example, A star goblin got killed attempting an unlikely & pointless move (those are Abom's words) but the coach half-wanted to fire him anyway.

We also learnt some odd things about attacking your own players with Ball & Chain. that's Goblins for you... out there on the bleeding edge of research into new BB tactics.

Best line of the match was probably Abom, after another dodge fails...
"The first thing I'm going to give these goblins when they level up is Dodge, as they clearly don't have it already" ;D

I'm busy this weekend but RL3 & myself are likely to play a game early next week.

Yes, indeed this is so. Abom - I assume you are busy with D&D tonight?

I loaded last week's game into BBDB. Abom's rolls were really as tragic as they felt, if not more so. He failed over a third of his GFI's, and for his dodge rolls (which normally require a 3+), two thirds of them were 1 or 2!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Monday night, RL3's Necromantic team played their second game. Their opponents were a new team of mine, a Chaos team by the name of Keyboard Warriors.

I received. The game started with a reversal of fortunes - rather than the usual Gandalf-injures-a-RL3-player-on-turn-1, the opposite happened, and semi-colon was killed on his very first turn! Lots of bashing then happened, though RL3 did not push anyone downfield so I was able to fail to pick the ball up in the backfield until the 4th turn, with no pressure on the ball. However when I eventually brought it forwards, my depleted forces could not keep it safe; RL3 nicked the ball and scored as the half time whistle blew (is there a whistle in BB? or a horn?).

In the second half I killed someone in revenge, although he did regenerate. One of my beastmen was MNG and there were a few KO's on both sides, so it was a pretty sparse pitch (8 v 7 I think?). After some switching from one flank to the other, eventually a werewolf & a ghoul ran free. It was 2 against 1 - whilst I did manage to get the ball free (horns!) I didn't have the manpower/agility/speed to retrieve it, so RL3 made it 2-0 on turn 16.

On the free turn at the end, the blocking luck (which had been in RL3's favour) turned - I attempted 5 blocks resulting in 4 knockdowns and a pushed (but no depitching). I also managed the only pass of the game :) It's nice to end the game on a high.

Post-game, RL3 got 60k, a double on a werewolf, and a skill on a flesh golem (who has caused all 3 of the casualties inflicted by the team). Very nice! Interesting choice for a double on the first roll... I think we'd discussed it down to guard, mighty blow or nerves of steel (a bit out there but if you're going to pick a Passing skill it's probably the best one - werewolf more likely to be receiving than passing; give him Dodge & you have a great receiver). Keyboard Warriors got 10k, boo. But at least MVP went to the MNG chap, and not the dead one, so I won't retire the team just yet.

Yes, it was another good game. And it came with a free Zombie - the re-animated ";". Which seems only fair, as several seasons ago Gandalf zombied one of my Amazons in their first outing against him.

Abom - are you D&D-free this weekend, and up for a game? Or anyone else, for that matter?

Unfortunately, no. :( I most likely won't be able to make it for some BB for the next week or 2, busy w/ holidays, errands, and catching up with old friends in from out of town.

Well Abom, next week is Christmas Day, so I doubt people will be playing then...

RL3 tonight isn't ideal for me but could do Monday or Tuesday if you want a game.

Sure, see you then. Maybe 15 minutes earlier if that works for you? All 3 of my less-experienced teams are at least 1 player down at the moment so now's a good time to play them :)

Yup, 2-0. Some highlights...

- A breakaway nearly resulted in an equalizing TD, unfortunately the lightening bolt on the safety wasn't strong enough - he was able to get up and knock the ball carrier over.
- Un-Sun Hero the third made his debut (I've fired the first two after getting career-ending injuries), but got a stat decrease AGAIN! This time however it was re-rolled into badly hurt. I'm sure it's only a temporary reprieve. His name is cursed!
- Block everywhere is great. My wrestle werewolf seemed to be everywhere.
- The last drive of the game lasted 3 or 4 turns, every time the Yhtee rolled push -> frenzy -> knockdown -> not injured -> moving 2 squares towards the sidelines. He was almost off the pitch by the end... he'd certainly gone a long way for someone whose only movement came from following up blocks. It very much had the air of some friendly shoving around on the playground.
- a necromantic werewolf got a minus-stat, but at least it wasn't on the one who levelled up. Plus they got another 60k in winnings.
- The other flesh golem levelled up, so they both have block now... seriously annoying players.
- RL3 does the only completed pass of the game!

I think that's it for 2016... merry blood bowling Christmas, see you next year!
