New laptop procured from eBay. Let's see if it'll run BB2 once it arrives. BB1 should be a shoe in by now.
Re: Post season-9 friendlies
Good news Rav, it would be great to see you around again.
RL3 & I organize games between ourselves, as no-one else seems to be up for games at the moment.
We played two games recently. The first was his necromantic against my poor Chaos team. Nuffle looked unkindly on me and I lost 2-0. Highlights include rolling a 1 when using a lightening bolt with my wizard (I blame Rav for making me pick a wizard), and a beastman killing himself on a 2D block on the last action of the game. Also, having finally saved up to replace the chaos warrior I lost in the team's first game (putting me up to a total of 2! Yeah!), his replacement got injured early in the match and will miss the next game. Woohoo!
Second game was Deep Pass Niners (Human) against a new Orc team. This time, Nuffle looked unkindly on RL3 and he lost 2-0. "Highlights" included rolling 5 double red skulls!! It's nice to have BBDB available to make clear how the dice went. At the end I had a catcher who I was trying to get killed so tried some really stupid elfball stuff, to my embarrassment it almost all worked, I only failed to make it 3-0 by failing a GFI on the last action. It was a completely absurd sequence of moves that I wouldn't have backed the Everglade Wanderers to score and here were a bunch of unskilled humans dodging and picking it up and throwing it around like they were born to do it. Basically it showed how much nuffle smiled on me. Also one of RL3's black orcs did what RTBBL black orcs do, and died on turn 2. Nuffle had the last laugh though as my catcher who I was trying to get killed, got MVP.
We both agreed our next match should be my Chaos vs his Orc team. A bit of a cripple fight that one, 19 players available between them and neither team really knowing what it's like to have good dice... surely something's got to give?

What "gave" was my Chaos team again, luck was most definitely not on their side. I took a 1-0 lead after punching a hole through the Orc front lines and guarding the way for my ball carrier to run through. I didn't stall as the blocking battle was not going well for me and I had 2 KO'ed people who I hoped to get back, neither came back. We also had an amusing cameo from Bomber Dribblesnot, who threw a bomb which was intercepted, thrown back to him & he caught it, then he threw it away again for no net effect :p
Anyway by turn 12 my team had been battered, conceded twice, the ball carrier was MNG and another Chaos dude was dead. I set up for a risky series of moves to try and score but instead more fail dice arrived... a goblin nipped in and ran for the line and made it 3-1.
At least I got 70k winnings at the end. RL3 mis-clicked so his thrower now has Safe Throw... not a disaster but not optimal either. It's 9 fit players for the Chaos team again next game... a Minotour with Guard, 3 0SPP chaos warriors, and 5 beastmen (1x dodge, 2x block) looking to improve on their dire 1-4 record

Re: Post season-9 friendlies
RL3 & I continue to play games most Sundays. Anyone else is welcome to join...
The last but one game was my Norsemen against a newish Dwarf team. The dwarf team got smashed to pieces despite their armour and thick skulls and I won 3-0. It's 2 or 3 weeks ago so I can't remember more details than that.
This week it was my cursed Chaos team against RL3's Necromantic. The reverse happened and I couldn't do anything against Necromantic armour (I rolled double 1 for armour rolls 6 times!) and RL3 had some outrageous luck, especially around ball bounces and one long stretch of knockdowns from blocks (I think it was 12 or 13 blocks in a row). He won 3-0, bringing balance to the Force. A Chaos beatman got killed but was saved by the apothecary so the team marches on... all 9 of them that is (1-1-5 record now, I think). Most of the team have levelled up now but the 2 chaos warriors only have 1 SPP between them, which was gained on turn 16 of this game when RL3 skipped it his turn so I could try a pass, which worked with a re-roll. A 2 square sideways pass has never been celebrated so much!
