Are there any trees near here?

There's the odd one here and there, but there's a lot of cacti too.

Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
for all we know it'll end up being a prick.
Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
Andronicus casts his senses outward to the future, looking for the artifact. He sees six wizards in their various mail and arms, around a great swirling red orb. Power emanates from it. The chamber the wizards are in seem to be huge, and you see no walls. The floor is made of neatly hewn stone.
You may examine two things in this scene.
Fenlander casts his mighty spell on a cactus, which rises, growing limbs and... and..
Plate mail....
And quite possibly the biggest sword you have ever seen...
It lumbers towards you, startling the caravan guards into forming up with their halberds and spears. Captain Follo himself yelling at you to get away.
"Hullo," the giant cactus with the biggest sword you have ever seen says timidly.
"What's all the fuss about, then?"

Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
Uther sighs mournfully, wonders why he has to sort stuff out and Uses his Voice of Command to project the image of Princely command, and ensure the situation remains calm.....
"Hold your arms Brave Soldiers! Do Not be alarmed! My servant here has merely summoned one of the friendly gentle guardians of this desert!"
To Captain Follo "Relax and call off your men - this creature is quite friendly"
And then (if there's time) he walks into the crowd which has undoubtedly formed around the scene. Uther goes around the richer looking people having a quiet chat (because he is a bit weasely)
"This giant cactus is a friendly guardian and promises to tell his people to take special care of your caravan if you give him a gift of some sort....I promise to make sure your gift gets to him too."

<Remember to put something witty in here>

Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
Examine a wizard - if one looks familiar go for them. Also examine the orb.
Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
Your move, Fenlander.
Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
I ask the cactus to join us on our quest and I ask it what it's name is. I also keep a clear eye on Uther because he clearly can't be trusted, I make sure to confiscate any gifts the rich nobles give him and actually pass them on to the Cactus.
Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
A great prince rose from the desert...
"Hold your arms Brave Soldiers! Do Not be alarmed! My servant here has merely summoned one of the friendly gentle guardians of this desert!"
This seems to calm the caravan and their guards. Captain Follo, an instant earlier pulling out his sword and yelling for his formations to be obeyed, looked bewildered at Uther's transformation, but mutely signalling for his warriors to ease.
Meanwhile, Andronicus is in the wings of the future, having cast his mind forward into time..
He found a slightly rotund fellow among the party, circling the great orb, transfixed on its fiery glory. Wondering how to harness its power. As he reached forward to touch it, a great scream was heard, and a terrible crashing sound met them.
Two things became very apparent, the wizard Andronicus was looking at was an older version of himself, and that version of himself in this future timeline was shitting itself as the Sand Worm appeared from the darkness of the vast hall, screaming and screeching its fury.
You take a last look at the orb as the present presses on you.. and notice a small thing stirring in it.
It's an egg...
As Andronicus returns to the present, Fenlander speaks with the heavily armed Cactus..
"I am called, in your human tongue, called Wilfried of Ivan-Hoe. The dragon which has taken up residence here has scared most of the trees and animals in these parts. If you go to slay it, I will follow."

Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
Well that's egg-sasperating! Another sand wurm!
Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
Remind me, are we looking to slay or capture a dragon? I make sure we tell Wilfried the truth about our intentions and ask him for any information about the habits of the dragon and where it might be found.
Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
You're supposed to capture a dragon, dead or alive, for experiments. Given the difficulty of detaining a live dragon however, there really is only one option.. for now.
Re: 3 Months Later.. (Wizards)
So that's what I tell Wilfried. Hopefully he can give us some useful info. Also, is it possible to use him as a source of water or even hallucinogenic drink?
