What does a crew member do compared to an officer?
Other question. How is my sig calculated? I have a base sig of 95. Does the light cloak reduce this number by 30%, then followed by a reduction of 20 (skills and halo). Total 46,5?

I forgot my ship has other strengths, was sort of thinking solely of dogfighting, where I come up heavily underhanded (not really stealthy, not really quick, not the heaviest armed, etc). Too much of a jack of all trades, winding up doing nothing well really, and for kinda too much money.

My ship can only hide basically. No armor, low speed, low weapons, low cargo. We will just have to make the best of it I guess.

I can see how the name helps the roleplaying, but for me it's just confusing. Hell, I find it tricky that we have some people here who have changed their forum names in the past, I can rarely remember who they used to be (oddly, Ident is one I do remember...)

[member=26]Solarflux[/member] : Crewmembers fill holes. They don't do a LOT outside of filling requirements. I have a few thoughts on how to utilize them but nothing terribly game-changing.
Also, for signature, you calculate your signature with everything BEFORE you turn the cloak on. The Cloak is also only functioning when you turn it on. So for your ship, the Lane Trotter has a Base Sig of 95. The L-18 Laser adds 15 Signature just for being there, bumping you up to 110. Your Signature skill reduces that by 10, to 100. The Halo Armor reduces that by 5, to 95. Turn the cloak on and you get a sig of 67 (Rounded). Which means that, against a scanner with a range of 100, you'd only be detected at a range of 67. Like Allegiance.
[member=4]Memento[/member] As far as wepon ranges go - Targeting systems have much shorter ranges than the weapons do. Get far out and any sort of movement in the ship will make the shot miss by a ton.

Now, the key is this: Moving to another system takes a turn. That's done at the end of the turn. Before then, you can check your local price listings for items and such, investigate things, track prey, etc. Theoretically speaking, you can take multiple contracts, but almost all contracts are time-sensitive.
